  2. 1. Protein and aging: surprised he didn’t mention the view of some that eg methionine restriction has benefits, inverse bell curve optimal IGF, etc.

  3. Not to in total agreement with this guest. Also not in any scientific field of work. Most of his research doesn’t work for me. Carnivore and fasting works great for me (3 years).

    • Same here. I think these David Sinclair types are a bit reductionist. I believe that aging pathways and IGF1 are in lockstep, so if we look at Glucagon:Insulin ratios – a carnivore diet with fasting is very close to the G:I ratio when fasting, so it’s doesn’t make sense that it would be rapid aging.

    • @Maärten Okay, thanks for the reply.

      If the insulin:glucagon ratio isn’t that far off from a fasted or ketogenic state and the eating window is compressed, then by what mechanism is aging accelerated?

      At a ratio of 1.3, mTor activation would be very low. A vegan diet will have the ratio ~4. So a high carb, high seed oil diet will potentially age you much quicker.

  4. You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health.
    Lower stress, reduce obesity and more exercise are key to a healthy life.
    Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world.
    Fast food and sugary drinks are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity.
    Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly.
    Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices.
    Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly.
    Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer.
    Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game.
    A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility.
    Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun.
    Every city should be a bicycle city.
    Speak up for bicycles in your community

  5. It’s interesting when the talk comes to protein and cancer. I see vegans try to claim how much protein increases the risk for various cancers while they ignore the types of meat sources and quality of them (as well as the role of sugars for that matter. To me, even though I havent seen every study, high carb diets from high glycemic index foods seem to be way more risky for most cancers compared to diets high in grass fed free range, organic meats. If anyone can disprove that, feel free to share the evidence for that
