0:00 Introduction: How to overcome procrastination
0:56 Does dieting ruin your metabolism?
2:00 Are you on the right diet?
3:03 Why can’t I lose weight?
4:35 I don’t have time to diet and exercise
Let’s talk about procrastination. I used to be a professional procrastinator, so what changed?
Dieting slows your metabolism a little bit more each time you do it, especially if the diet is low-calorie or high in carbohydrates. Dieting and losing fat go against our body’s natural survival mechanisms—your body doesn’t like to give up fat.
When diets don’t work, people tend to mislabel themselves as lazy or as a procrastinator. But they’ve just been on the wrong diet plan. When your diet program is working, you’ll see results, and you’ll stick to it.
If you’re on the right diet and you’re burning fat, you may not notice weight loss at first, but you will notice two things:
1. Your cravings will go away
2. Your appetite will go away
This happens because you’re burning fat even when you’re not eating, which makes it much easier to stick to the keto plan.
If you’re not losing weight right away on keto, you need to consider this key weight loss principle: you don’t lose weight then get healthy—you have to get healthy so you can lose weight.
Various health conditions affect weight loss and also take time to heal. But, if you’re cravings and appetite go away, the diet is working.
If you think you don’t have enough time to put into diet and exercise, you may want to take a closer look at your daily routine.
As you plan out your day, put exercise and preparing healthy meals at the top of your to-do list as necessities. You may also need to change up your workout to fit your body's needs.

Thank you Dr Berg!
As someone that lost 85 lbs almost effortlessly by focusing on nutrition , I swear by this. I’ve healed other issues as well . Our food supply is a crime against humanity, educate yourself to protect yourself.
Your pants start falling off too.

Complete B$, my food cravings never go away and get worse as I loss weight and
keeping weight off long term is the problem I and many people have.
Keto aside being difficult to do here Brazil ( No Keto meal home delivery here ) also doesn’t help my sugar cravings much though I might have a low threshold addictive personality.
Ask yourself why weight loss drugs like Wegovy are so popular?
Elon Musk uses Wegovy and he’s the antithesis of procrastination.
Problems of dieting:
Loss of energy.
Depression.
Bad mood.
Can’t focus due to hunger cravings.
Love a doctor berg vid before bed. Puts me to sleep feeling motivated for tomorrow 😎
Me too! I have watched him every single day since February 2015 since my sister died of Cancer. I searched Utube to see if there was anyone out there with information to helping me stay sane and eat right. I knew I was insulin sensitive…this guy is absolutely right on!!!💕❤️I hoped to meet him one day! Then I got to talk to him on his show!
lol, hes the first thing I watch in the AM
Not only is he the best for health information but his voice is so soothing and he somehow keeps my focus when others can not .
I appreciate Dr. Berg! When I need encouragement, I watch his videos! Whenever I have a question about a health matter, I checked Dr. Berg’s videos first.
A doctor that is ageing backwards is worth watching who else agrees to this too? Congratulations Doctor!
@Xor Doom …..hmmm….?…..maybe youre right….?
@TheChattounet you can tell he uses a Beauty filter with this cam, it’s too faded like a glamour shot
He sure looks good for his age!
For real!
I have no problem with sticking to what I should eat. My problem is getting organized with other things
My father in law is a huge on procrastination and lazy. But he’s very skinny and don’t need lose weight but he sure needs to gain muscle mass. His diet is very bad. Full of sugar and carbs. His mood is very bad and it’s hard for anyone to be around him very long. He’s 85 though and we’ve tried to get him eat better but he will get in his truck and go get his donuts, ice cream and cookies. Lol we just have to let him live his life at his age. Too late to change him but it’s frustrating at times. Thanks Dr berg for this video. I do have others to share it with.
Needed this… Not only regarding my diet.
Every aspect of my life. Thank you kindly Dr Berg 😇
Same here. From the title and all the comments I can tell this is a great video, saved this to my watch later playlist, will definitely watch when I have time.
My pleasure!
What an excellent video! This sounds so much like me. I get on Keto and off of Keto. I need some damn discipline for sure then end up sick! I basically walk and nothing else. This video is so good.
I am with you Margaret!
Dr Berg, Your honesty and health shine through your handsome face. At this time of my life, my goal is to pay heed to all your instructions. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge!
Thank you Dr Berg for your work, knowledge and your time! God bless you !!!
I and some/most therapists believe that procrastination is a reaction & cure for PERFECTIONIST Mentality. If when u want to do something u want to do it perfectly, which means lots of dedicated time & effort & ignoring your body/mind needs, your subconscious mind will manipulate your feelings as it always does and in this case make u hesitated/ step forward & 2 backward. Dr Berg was a procrastinator & now he is a perfectionist no doubt. most of this channel is really great but part of it promotes perfectionism & the one method of doing things mentality. gradually, perfectionism builds personality disorders like OCD/OCPD/Anxiety/dogmatism….and in generations it is behind many if not most schizophrenics. Take IT EASY AND FIND BALANCE & MODERATION IN YOUR LIFE.
Love this!!! It’s brilliant how you incorporate all these tid bits of vital information! I’ve been wanting to get this type of message across as well. You did it here very well! Thanks.
Another point however, I’d add: often what people call “will power” can often have more (as much?) to do with blood sugar level than mindset. If someone’s blood sugar is low, it takes much more “will power” than if it’s more stable. Therefore, like you said, get rid of the cravings with something like Keto and food decisions and other decisions in general will be much easier because our minds will actually be a lot clearer!!!!
Thank you for the encouragement Dr Berg ♥️
You’re very welcome!
“I don’t tend to follow what everybody else is doing.”
Soooo many levels. Especially these last 3 years.
Procrastinating and self-discipline should be talked about more.
It would change so much for ppl with depression.
🎯
Unfortunately a good chunk of procrastination is genetic and I’m highly doubtful what you suggest would help depressed people much.
Procrastination….. Ha-Ha-Ha! I’ve delayed watching this video two times because… in a few mins it will be a better time, …. In a few minutes I will be more concentrated…. 🙂 Thank you! Love your videos! Over a year on Keto and IF. Lost 78 lb., lost pre-diabetes and hypertension, lost a lot of joints issues and another long list of thing. THANK YOU Dr. Berg!
No cravings, not hungry and not in pain from inflammation…..that was the biggest motivation for me !
So true Dr. We will not lose weight by exercise alone. My niece told me over 2 years ago, “It’s all about what goes in our mouth”. I’m 70 and since then, by eating Keto, 18/20 hour almost daily Intermittent Fasting(sometimes OMAD) along with daily exercise I’ve dropped alot
of weight. All I can say is the less I eat….the less I eat. No hunger pains ever plus no cravings. It’s not that I’m Superwoman it’s just my body is working the way it should.
Also, and this is huge for me, I have no kitchen in my apt(long story). I have a microwave, toaster oven and something to heat water. I do have a fridge. I buy fresh meat, veggies, greens and berries. I promise it is not as expensive as people think.
I am retired so living mostly on my SS.
I don’t waste money on supposed “Keto friendly” pre-made foods.
I don’t make elaborate Keto dishes
but keep it simple.
Folks, we can do this. I am proof and
you can be too. 🙏 ❤
