Agreed. My guess is as long as we dont eat within 3-4 hours of sleep. Lifespan/Healthspan / HRV would all go up
Interesting but I sleep much better when I have a small meal for dinner and my sleeping resting heart rate is also lower… I must be getting old 😉
However it’s important to point out that fat people who diet and eat only in the morning end up getting hungry at night and failing their diet so you should only ear at night so you can go to sleep or you’ll stay awake hungry until you can’t take it anymore and eat something unhealthy or in excess.
Another thing to consider (not mentioned in the study) is the effect on Circadian Rhythm – backloading your meals may not affect weight or calories in etc but it is more likely to be suboptimal for your circadian pathways thus possibly more aging compared to front loading. Hopefully future studies can show us data about this too
