There is a certain disease that is so ignored yet incredibly common—understanding it will help explain a lot about your health. This disease is hyperinsulinemia, a condition where you have too much insulin in your blood.

Issues associated with hyperinsulinemia:
• Frequent urination at night
• Fatigue
• Carb cravings
• Inability to go long periods without eating
• Belly fat
• Slow metabolism
• Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
• Brain fog
• Lack of concentration
• Mood disorders
• Dementia
• Increased risk of cancer, heart attacks, clots, and strokes
• Nerve problems
• Lowered immune system
• High LDL cholesterol (small dense particle size)
• High triglycerides
• High blood pressure
• PCOS
• Diabetes type 2
• Gallstones

Doctors don't often test for hyperinsulinemia—just high blood sugar. But you can have high insulin levels for years and not have high blood sugar levels.

High-carb diets, sugar, and frequent eating all contribute to high insulin. So, how do some people consume a lot of carbs and sugar and still have normal blood glucose levels?

Well, insulin is working hard to quickly remove the sugar from the blood to give you normal blood sugar levels. But, insulin is just as toxic as sugar in high amounts and can lead to insulin resistance, diabetes, and other health conditions.

Ask your doctor about a fasting insulin test to better understand your insulin levels. While you wait on the test, you can start promoting healthy insulin and blood sugar levels by getting on the Healthy Keto diet and doing intermittent fasting.

  1. Hey I guessed right, and that is because Dr Berg has been giving out very good and much needed information that I have been implementing, which has in turn changed my life for the better

  2. Videos like these helped save my life. I had everything high, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides. Before going low carb and intermittent fasting I weighed 210 pounds. Now I’m down to 156 pounds and I feel so much better and have unlimited amounts of energy. Watching these videos really helps me to stay motivated 💪🏾❤️💯

    • @Smile Awhile It’s so amazing to have extra energy. I get to work around 4:30 in the morning. I’m upbeat and energetic and all my coworkers are tired and with low energy rushing to the coffee machine.

    • 131 pounds gone here!!! At my goal weight and labs are beautiful. Keep it up!!!!💙 forgot to say doing a low carb diet AND my doc was totally on board! THE HORROR!!!!😱🤣😂

  3. Issues associated with hyperinsulinemia:
    • Frequent urination at night

    Thank you Dr Berg!!

  4. I gave up sugar and carbs (except green leafy veg and salad) on January 1st this year and went on OMAD. These past 10 months have turned my life around. My list of health niggles are all gone, even my eyesight is normal again. I can’t believe how much my body was suffering in general.

    • @Frantastic I had great eyesight until I was 50 and then it started to become weaker. Not enough to need glasses but a noticeable loss of clarity. This year, I’m 62, and it’s gone back to what I’d call excellent. I don’t think its a change in log/short-sightedness, more like an improvement in the optical clarity of the eyes structures. It’s subjective but that’s my opinion.

    • I totally agree with you. All of what you mentioned has happened with me. My 1st sign after 1-2 weeks was the ‘bags’ under my eyes disappeared!

    • @Joyous Yes, another benefit, fewer eye bags. My blood pressure is so good now and I can safely run for the first time in 10 years.

    • @Francois De la Rey Who recommended to only eat oats? You need about a gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day to have the necessary building blocks to continue living. Chicken, fish, avocado, eggs, leafy greens, broccoli, sprouts, sauerkraut / kimchi are some good ideas.

  5. The sugar/carb/insulin story is finally beginning to unravel in an understandable way. You can have normal blood sugar and appear healthy as the sugar harms your organs and you eventually end up diabetic. We eat too much Processed food! We eat too much! Oh well I working on it… Time to get up and have some bacon & fresh eggs! I’ve had my own egg hens since 2019 and raised my own meat hens this season. 12 in the freezer.

    • I’ve figured it out.. when it comes to diabetes type 2 it goes like this.. high carb/high sugar diet= fatty liver (because of de novo lipogenesis) which fat spills over to the pancreas causing fatty pancreas= disruption of the function of the beta cells (which produce insulin)= your body cannot produce enough insulin to keep up with the high blood sugar from too many carbs/sugar..

It’s called the twin cycle hypothesis which has pretty much now been confirmed through some excellent studies..

    • @yougoBoy We induce diabetes in laboratory animals by FATTENING them up literally making them obese. That is A BIG clue as to why HUMANS acquire Type 2 Diabetes – fatty unhealthy diet – clogging up our cells with fat to the point it will not respond to insulin to in-take glucose. BIG CLUES we are ignoring.

  6. Something I seldom hear is how good it feels to not eat. My 18 hours of fasting everyday isn’t a burden, it is just as good as when I eat, if not better. After almost four years I don’t even do proper keto any more. I eat grains. What I don’t eat are Highly Processed Foods and seed oils, certainly no sugar. I feel better than when I was 20, and I was in great shape, and my asthma has gone away and stayed away. Count me in for the long haul.

  7. It does explain a lot about my health! I need a doctor who thinks like Dr. Berg. They rarely ever treat underlying causes. At best they just treat symptoms, often ineffectively. I want to do keto but I failed at it. But I’m tired of feeling and looking terrible so i will succeed eventually. 🤞

    • Intermittent fasting will help you even if you can’t do Keto because you will still be limiting the time that your body needs to release insulin.

    • Doctors don’t want you to get well. They want you to be their customer for life! Either take matters into your hands and get healthy or keep letting your doctors manage your symptoms with their dangerous drugs and invasive methods and make you suffer until you die!

    • @Rhonda Weber But only if she wants to. She could sort herself out now if she really wanted to. But she doesn’t. Or she would.

    • Keto doesn’t work for everyone, doesnt work for me, I gained weight and my thyroid and other hormones really became off. Just eat high protein, stay away from processed foods and sugars, you can still have sweet potatoes, regular pitatos, quinoa, brown rice, your body will thank you

  8. Most doctors sadly don’t address the root cause(s) of many chronic diseases and conditions, unlike Dr. Berg. It’s crazy how an online Youtube doctor is more reliable than the ones you visit to their offices in person.

  9. Dr Berg. Thanks for your videos. I have known the basics of all of this for years. My partner’s parents and sister are suffering the consequences of this. They will never listen to me. It’s such a shame their GP (UK) will never tell them. All I can do is explain this stuff to my partner which she does not like… and probably resents me for… but know that you have helped extend her health and probably her lifespan with videos like this. She’d never believe me alone! Thanks again. 😊

  10. Dr. Berg,

The amount of information you provide in each and every video will definitely help your viewers from having severe diseases/illnesses.

    Thank you 👌

  11. 8.81 M subscribers, amazing, good for you Dr Berg! Just goes to show how hungry people are for truth, esp in regards to health.

  12. Half the world has this issue Dr. Berg. TV has images of high carb food & drink. No wonder everyone is addicted. Thank you for saving our health! ❤✝️

  13. Preventing diseases is much easier then treating them …that’s what Dr Berg want to say with all his videos ….
    Thank you dr berg …

  14. Dr Berg your version of a healthy keto has CURED so many of my health problems since I started 8 months ago, not only that, but I also lost over 100 LBS of unhealthy weight off of my 5’7″ body, and I can’t thank you enough for that!!!!!👍✌️♥️

    • Keto will help reduce weight for the short run. Keto will appear to control diabetes because you have low carb consumption and you are losing weight. However, in the long run, its high fat consumption will compromise your health and your diabetes symptoms will appear with a vengeance. The key to help control diabetes is to increase your insulin sensitivity asap and consuming a healthy diet high in vegetables, low in animal fat (i.e. meat), whole fruits (eat the fiber not just drink it juice, to ingest nutrients), devoid of processed sugars, cooking seed oils, and dairy products.

  15. BRILLIANT PRESENTATION! You’ve been talking about insulin resistance in every video for years but THIS distills everything into an easy to understand primer for everyone. I’ve been Keto healthy for 3 years and I will share this video with everyone I know!

  16. Around ~ 4 months ago I went to the doctor because I was sort of dozing off during the day and HbA1c came back with 12%. He put me on Metformin and I watched a lot of YT videos, many of yours. Cut out sugar and carbs, with a few setbacks when we have social stuff going on, but it worked, the next test HbA1c was 6%. We agreed to try going without Metformin, so I’ll know more in February. But overall, I’m feeling so much better! I had a lot of the symptoms you describe (frequent peeing, craving food, thirsty), but didn’t know what they meant. Now I feel like my lights are turning back on and life is much better. Thank you for doing all these videos and educating us!

  17. Dr. Berg is so spot on, the reason this is ignored is the food industry doesn’t want it brought to light, Thank you for your videos that help educate people to care for their health.

  18. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Dr Berg informs, educates health conscious people like myself to better take care of themselves without a cost.
    You are an awesome educator.

  19. I can state with absolute confidence that he has added many good years to my life. Dad died horribly and slowly from his diabetes. Mom died in full dementia, screaming at her care takers. NO ONE should end up this way. EVER! Dr. Berg is a blessed life saver.
