Top causes of dry skin:
• Alcohol (consumption or used topically in creams)
• Petroleum products
• Certain medications
• Diabetes
• Mineral oil
• Autoimmune conditions
• City water (consumption or used topically)
• Excessive use of soap or detergents
• Gut issues
• Liver issues
• Menopause

Top causes of dry eyes:
• Vitamin A deficiency
• Gallbladder problems or a lack of bile
• A lack of the active form of vitamin A (retinol) in the diet
• A lack of friendly microbes

Top causes of dry mouth:
• Saliva deficiency
• Antibiotics
• Stress

One of the best remedies for dry skin is a mixture of lanolin and vitamin E oil. Mix a small amount of natural lanolin with a couple of drops of natural vitamin E oil and rub the mixture on your dry skin. I think you’ll notice a big difference.

  1. Was waiting for your wisdom today, Doc. I got up even before them birds did. Thanks for the wave of info on dry conditions in and on our personal terrain. Have a fabulous weekend, Doc, doing fun things as only Doctor Berg does….🎳..lol

  2. Very helpful, here in Montana our humidity is very low during winter months. Skin, lips, hair, ect really dry out. Great video, thanks Dr. Berg×

  3. Love the infornation I get from Dr Berg I patiently wait every morning for the days lesson. So much appreciation ,😊 thanks Dr Berg

  4. Be very careful with DHEA! I did this to raise my hormones and just a little. I had been told my progesterone was crash low so would have tried anything to feel better. So I took small amounts of DHEA and within a few weeks my hair was falling out in shed loads. After much research I noticed that many women were experiencing massive hair loss which unfortunately did not grow back after stopping the supplement., however the hair shedding did stop. This has been true for me to. It stopped falling out after I stopped DHEA but my hair has not grown back in. I have really thin looking hair now and I am now trying to figure out how I can resolve this.

    • @Terri Mur Im a soap maker and interested in skincare, so there’s a few things you could try for your hair. Its trial and error, because everything works differently for different people. You could looking for a sulfate-free shampoo with rosemary essential oil and rosemary oleoresin extract, as these two ingredients helps hair re-growth and premature graying. Peppermint essential oil can strengthen the hair. Pumpkin seed oil has been studied for hair re-growth in women too, and can also be taken as a supplement for the same thing. Castor oil is also good for hair, as it penetrates deep within the skin layers. The amino acids l-arginine and l-carnitine is good for the hair, but unsure if its topical or as a supplement. Best doing some research on each.

  5. 0:22 Causes of dry skin:
    • Moisturizers: They have certain things in them that dry your skin, like alcohol
    • Alcohol
    • Petroleum products
    • Medication: psych drugs, high blood pressure medication, there are 500 drugs that have dry skin as their symptom
    • Diabetes
    • Mineral oil
    • Autoimmune conditions: lupus
    • City water: contains fluoride and chlorine and all sorts of chemicals
    • Soap and/or detergents: detergents pull out oil
    • Gut issues
    • Liver issues
    • Menopause

    3:14 Causes of dry eyes:
    • Vitamin A deficiency
    • Gallbladder problems and/or a lack of bile
    • A lack of the active form of vitamin A (retinol) in the diet
    • A lack of friendly microbes

5:29 The best source of retinol (the active form of vitamin A) is liver, egg yolks and cod liver oil
5:59 Menopause and dryness: the first thing you want to try is a DHEA product which is kind of like a building block for hormones. You shouldn’t take a lot, you just need a little bit. If you take too much you can actually raise hormones higher than it should be.
    7:36 Cause of dry mouth:
    • Saliva deficiency
    • Antibiotics: they can increase the risk of getting candida which can also give you dry mouth. If you have candida you absolutely need to get rid of all sugar in the diet
    • Stress
    • COVID
    • A deficiency of zinc
    • Alcohol
    • Fluoride treatment and fluoride in your toothpaste
    • High-carb diets

10:16 The best remedy for dry skin: combine the following
    • Lanolin: lanolin is a natural substance that sheep produce that keep their skin and wool nice and protected
    • Vitamin E oil

Put a little bit of lanolin in a dish with a couple drops of vitamin E oil, mix it up good and rub it into your hands and other parts of your body and you’re going to notice a great moisturizer effect especially in the winter.

    Thank you Dr. Berg
    Sincerely, 11 : 11 Meditation Portal Channel

  6. Very good timing Dr. Berg, Yes I had been avoiding cream with Alcohol and Petroleum and cream can also block the pores of our skin, that makes me don’t know what cream to use anymore, but skin is getting dry, your video always have valuable information that is just what I needed to know! I love the way you present your video, you are so calm and have a very clear explanation towards the cause of the problem and how to solve it!
    ❤👍🙏

  7. My 63 year old mom has lathered herself with natural lotions for years, but still had been dealing with very dry, scaly skin, so I recommended she take some cod liver oil and nutritional yeast. By the next day, the skin was smooth and soft.

  8. I have genetic EDS, Sjogren’s, Scleroderma, SLE, RA, OA, Hashimotos Thyroiditis. I’m also post menopause, which I love. Needless to say, dryness is one of many health challenges. My eyes are the worst. This video is very helpful!

    • Dry eyes are awful & the only thing that has helped mine is petroleum jelly which the ophthalmologist approved. I put it on my eyelashes and blink it in overnight. It definitely helps relieve the sandy scratchy feeling.

    • @Blue Moon My ophthalmologist prescribed erythromycin gel for the eyes. It’s a tiny tube I squeeze in the inside lash line at night. When my eyes start feeling scratchy, I use it nightly until it gets better. I have to go directly to bed so I’m not walking around bumping into things. So far it’s working for me.

  9. Hey Dr Berg I have been loving learning through you for what I can do to take care of myself and try to be healthier as a young man before I become an old one. I have a video idea. If you could take us through what you would eat every day I think we all would have a good and better understanding more of what kind of things we need on a daily basis

  10. Thank you for this info, Dr. Berg! My skin is so dry it hurts. I especially notice it after I shower, even though I use cooler water for less time. I’ve used many creams and lotions but nothing helps. I have some lanolin and will get Vit E to add. I learn so much from you. God bless you!

  11. He seems to make the videos that are correlating the issue I’m facing that day…. dr berg is awesome and magical

  12. Dr Berg, You are so appreciated! I look forward to each and every video you do. I am learning so much on how to lead a healthier life and taking care of my body. I am so grateful for your teachings.❤️

  13. Maintaining a homeostasis has really help and since I have always had oily skin, this has really balanced things out. Thanks Dr. Berg for your continued education to all!

  14. I have been using coconut oil to moisturize my dry hands, and it seems to work wonders. Apparently it has a lot of vitamin E, as recommended in the video. It also makes the hand smell nice, which is a bonus. For curiosity’s sake, i looked at the ingredient in a popular “dermatologist recommended” softening cleanser. It has alcohol in addition to parabens (which surprised me), both of which are said to be harmful to the skin. Always read the ingredient list before using/consuming products.
correction: the product doesn’t claim that it moisturizes, only that it ‘softens’ the skin
