15:35 Learn more about brain health!

Today I’m going to share some of the top things that can severely affect your brain.

Top things that negatively affect your brain:
1. Chronic exposure to bad news
2. Toxic personalities
3. Spending too much time inside
4. Low-fat, low-cholesterol diets
5. High-grain diets
6. High-sugar diets
7. Low-stress to no stress at all
8. High-stress
9. Snacking
10. Things that decrease gut microbes
11. Consuming grain-fed animal products

One of the most surprising things on this list is grain-fed animal products. I recently participated in an interesting beef nutrient-density study. This study compared the beef from my farm to grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef, looking at factors that contribute to health and disease.

It turns out that the beef from my farm was significantly higher in phytonutrients and vitamin B3. It also had a fantastic omega-6 fatty acid to omega-3 fatty acid ratio. Not only that, but the beef I sent was low in glycation end-products and homocysteine, which are both harmful to the brain.

Grass-fed beef also did much better than grain-fed beef when looking at these same factors. My beef may have done best because I raise my cattle on pastures with a diversity of weeds for the cows to consume.

Overall, it’s crucial to consume grass-fed, grass-finished beef or 100% grass-fed beef to support your brain and your overall health.

  4. Wonderful advice to start a brand new Year…. A blessed New Year to you Dr.Berg and Mrs. Berg and family! 😀 And thank you for this journey we can take with you!

  5. When I was growing up in England the field behind our home had a huge number of wild flowers and weeds. There is a farm outside of Witney Oxfordshire that has an ancient pasture that is being preserved for the huge number of plants. The old time farmers used to say that if the cattle felt a bit off color they knew which plants to eat to feel better but the new farmers that did not leave the old field alone did not have that benefit.

    • In the old days in the USA on farms, they made huge barrels of apple cider, and poured them into the water troughs. The cows never had any bacterial problems, like now, their coats were shiny and they never got sick.

  6. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and they recommend 5-6 small meals a day with 2 of those meals being snacks. Even after I gave birth this diet was still recommended. Thanks, for the info, I’ll try OMAD instead of snacking.

    • @Kristann Chigro if you have a family and work choose supper as your one meal so you can eat with your family. You can drink tea and coffee you just can’t have cream, sugar, etc.

  7. Listening to Dr. Eric Berg I dropped over 70lbs! 💪🏾 I had an unhealthy relationship with food. These videos enhanced my quality of life!

  8. Dr. Berg, thanks for this.
This is a video pretty much everyone should see.
I’ve pretty much stopped watching national news, it’s just a pile of stress.

    • Same here. Mainly since CV-19 started. The trouble is, you can still find plenty on the web, which my family feel I am following too much, even if not the MSM. TPTB want us fearful, yet we are many and they are few. I hope and pray for a reset in that situation. I will try harder to follow the Doctor’s advice.

  10. Love Dr Berg ! He always seems to do a video exactly when I need it ❤️ been watching him for years, and know he’s one of the very few doctors we can actually trust! Thanks Dr Berg

    • That’s basically a fairly sizeable child! Way to go, I’m down sixteen so far so thanks for the boost.

    • I was just about to make the same comment! It is uncanny how many times his latest video addresses medical issues that I am struggling with right now. I will forever be thankful for his (free) contribution of thorough, trustworthy medical information he puts out to those of us seeking alternatives to the official recommendations of what is good for our health, or should I say, the omission of such. A GREAT human being, and if he makes a decent living from his noble efforts, I have absolutely no problem with that.

  11. Very, very interesting about the “better than grass fed” beef. As a kid on the way to school there where tall weeds that grew by an electric fence, the cows would risk shock to get to them. We’d pick them and all the cows would come over for the treat.

  12. Dr. Berg is amazing and wonderful! Thank you so much for your contribution to health, vitality, beauty and wisdom! Much love ❤

  13. The media we consume daily has an impact on our thinking, behaviour and emotions. We have all had toxic people dust us with their poison. Sometimes it’s more like a drenching. Being able to spot their harmful behaviour is the first step to minimising their impact. I have been contemplating cutting out toxic extended family members. Thank you Dr Berg for great video again.

  14. Thank you Dr. Berg. I have been depressed since last month sadly. Some of these things you listed are factors along with health issues, financial issues and car issues all at once. Hoping for better days and to keep taking care of myself.

  15. Thank you Dr. Berg! I’ve said goodbye to alcohol thanks to your advices and I already feel much better because of your diet advices. I go through my days with a smile because I know that what I’m doing is good for my health!

    Thank you again!

  16. My story: Exactly a year ago I found out thru CAT scan I had a lower disc bulge and a thoracic aneurysm and I weighed 180 lbs. and am 5’6″ tall so, naturally, I freaked! I looked for help on YT and found your videos and I have been putting your suggestions into action where I could. so, now, I have eliminated sugars as completely as possible; have started buying more grass-fed meats when I can afford them and eating much nmore diverse salad as well as intermittent fasting and an occasional extended fast. I now make my own fermented vegetables and do sprouting and I am now 139 lbs. I do still have to take HBP medicine but have cut the dose in half with the occasional use of niacin but am finding that i may even not need the amlodipine I am taking foir my blood pressure. I can go on and on but I just want to say thank you, Dr. Berg for the new lease on life you have given me, Bless You !
