  2. Is there any research on the effects of prolonged (5-7 day) fasting on bone loss in humans, during and after the fasting?

    I saw a study on mice where they did 96hr fast where they lost bone density. And though they recovered the bone density after eating, bone strength did not 😟

  3. I think a possible reason is that during a 2 day fast your liver is pumping out huge quantities of glucose and it slowly goes down as you become more fat adapted. So your not really even getting into lower insulin levels until at least 3 days. It’s probably different if you do a super strict keto diet and then fast.

  4. 2 days of fasting…Is not long enough.
    It takes about 3.5 – 5 days.
    If your diets on point, from the get go.
    If not, and you have high bodyfat.
    It’ll take longer, and require some monitoring and hydrating electrolytes.
    My Bodyfat is low, so a couple of days does me just fine.
    I stop at around the 4th day.

    Insulin depletion, is my goal.
