As someone who has recently discovered that I have OCD & have had signs of it my entire life, thank you
I would like to recommend along with Dr. Berg’s suggestions to check out Mark DeJesus new book “The OCD Healing Journey” Getting to the HEART of our obsessions and compulsive struggles. I have been following Mark’s teachings on YT since 2019 and I have found gret hope and insight in the struggles I have battels my entire life. Mark is very open about his own journey with OCD and is grace and compassion teaches the things that God has shown him. Blessings to YOU!!
I have clinically diagnosed OCD & decided a long time ago that drugs were not the way to go. I have managed it via diet & conditioning control – very hard but I have very strong resolve
I’d fire your doctor, he’s supposed to work for you! It’s never ever too late to get help, doctors only get two semesters in nutrition in their entire medical career, fact check me… I learned it the hard way.
You can achieve anything that you set your mind to; it’s not easy but a personal journal will allow you to see your progress, teach you resilience and faith.
Be a warrior for you, use nutrition to ameliorate your symptoms and heal.
(It took me five years but I totally healed Big Pharma’s polycystic kidneys disease (PKD) with my brutal anti inflammatory gluten-free diet—not a single polyp left!).
Believe 🎈
@Pat Kelly Let me guess Pat . . .your brother in law’s book ?
@Jean Dixon Exactly, good assessment!

@Pat Kelly thanks for sharing!
Thank you for making these videos. I use to be Diagnosed with all sorts of things and one thing I came to the conclusion was that I also had OCD. I always knew I needed to eat healthier. Buy I alway would say ,you’re going to have to put me in electro shock therapy to get me to eat fruits and vegetables. Thankfully, since then, I haven’t ever had to do anything crazy like that. I still dont like fruits vegetables but I found ways to get them into my diet like smoothies. I also have changed other things about my life too. It’s good to know that there are things you can do to change these situations for good and not just cover up the problem.

Years ago, I got it into my head that I’d left the garage door open when I left for work in the morning. I’d be half way to work during rush hour on a busy road when I’d decide that I forgot to close it, so I’d turn around to go check. This went on for weeks until I got a speeding ticket on the second drive to work one day and was counseled about being late more than once. My solution was to post a calendar on the visor in the car and mark off the day each time I left for work after I saw the door close.
Omg I can relate. I drive back to check if I turned off my stove.
Same… I kept turning my car lights off all the way to work.
Went on for months until I said F’ it! I KNOW they are not on and even if they are I don’t give a rats as@ I’m NOT touching the lights again! It was so stupid and insane that it’s hard to believe that I gave in to that nonsense!
There’s a fine line with being careful and OCD. . I welcome the little bit of OCD I have. Just have to take notes, mental or paper depending on severity. Again I welcome my OCD. Nothing gets passed me
@Joe K Like when they split into tens of different ones like tree branches
Maybe take a picture of garage door every morning
This happened to my mother who was a decades-long imbiber of antidepressants (Zoloft, Paxil, etc. right up until her death at 79). She lost the ability to speak clearly – very slurry, and this was a very chatty and articulate woman.
Thank you again, Dr. Berg! This is the first time I have ever heard a doctor give information about OCD cures rather than prescriptions for it. So thankful for your channel and for you.

@Pat Kelly ty and God bless
@Pat Kelly Thank you for this recommendation. I’ve been praying for deliverance from perfectionism. I’ve started watching Mark’s videos. They have been helpful to identify the emotional root of my problem. I am realizing that I need to heal from some things from my childhood. I know only God can do that. This is an answer to prayer.
Great video as always, Dr. Berg.
But since you recommend the Keto diet, although I don’t have OCD, my first thought was “Which Keto Friendly Foods contain the vitamins, minerals, etc, recommended in this video to overcome OCD, since an organic – if possible – food source is always considered preferable for supplementation.”
I know that Nutritional Yeast – which I take daily – is a good source of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), but I don’t know food sources for the other supplements you mentioned.
Perhaps you could do a link video in the near future covering that.
I’ve been a Subscriber for a year now and enjoy your videos a lot.
I also enjoy your Cod Liver Oil and Electrolyte Supplements.
Thanks a million, Dr. Berg, for helping to stabilize our mind in a chaotic world. You’re a great help to our mental & physiological health & well-being.😊
For the last 3 months I’ve been adjusting my diet to try to improve OCD, physical and mental fatigue. I tried ordering benfotamine (B1) but did not notice any changes. My energy levels seemed to decrease on the keto diet (eggs + vegetables), but later it turned out I had iron deficiency anemia. I am currently eating a lot of red meat to absorb heme-iron, without too much focus on carbohydrates. There are some days when I wake up feeling really good, and others where I wake up feeling poisoned, so I am still trying to narrow down to see if I have a specific oxalate/lectin intolerance with the vegetables I am eating. But I feel a strong correlation with eating red meat and feeling better, and I can almost start to imagine having full days where I can work the entire day continuously while feeling good.
I had horrible anemia a few years ago too which is why I prefer red meat every day.
Try Methel B12 & Methel Folate (double dose.) Along with nutritional yeast. Has helped me.
Eat liver once a week.
I would highly recommend a strict elimination diet like going carnivore so a while. There are so many good doctors and YouTuber’s ×who can walk you through it. I think you’ll be shocked at how good you feel getting all the plants and dairy (and obviously carbs and sugars) out of your symptom and then you add back 1 thing at a time, I think you’ll find out exactly what food or foods are bothering you. I love Dr. Ken Berry’s. Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Kelly Hogan and Mikala Peterson for there wisdom about the carnivore diet. Good luck!
Dr. Berg is so bang on with this analysis. High carb diets combined with the various rx meds are a never ending cycle of suffering and hopelessness. It also ultimately leads to various forms of Dementia if the individual even lives long enough!
As someone who has battled OCD most of my life, which at some points was debilitating, I can say the first real help I saw was when I began taking fish oil. Later, I began taking nutritional yeast at your advising for other reasons and noticed that it did in fact, help the OCD. I also started taking Benfotiamine for neuropathy. I have also cut my sugar intake drastically. Now, the OCD is almost an afterthought. I still have some issues driving, but it’s nothing like it used to be. Thank you, Sir!
That’s brilliant, well done : )
Bro you typed exactly what happened with me aswell. I also took omega 3 fish oil first which bought a drastic change in the quality of my life after several years of suffering with (15+ years) of OCD/ADHD issues and after watching few more videos I took non fortified natural yeast with curd on daily basis and ohh boy the changes I felt was blissful. Thank God. I found a solution.
That’s awesome!
@Blue Star. thanks!
I agree with you. My sister is suffering from OCD, and recently she was in a spiraling aggravation of symptoms, with more medicines giving rise to more side effects.
It was controlled when doctor mentioned that higher blood sugar would make the so called standard medicines ineffective.
On checking I discovered that indeed blood sugar levels have spiked, subsequently reducing carbohydrate intake has brought things under control

I learn more and more from Dr. Berg every day. It never ceases to amaze me! I didn’t realize OCD was a gut disorder. Thought it was only a brain/ thought disorder. Maybe this can help my younger son…hmmm!🤔
I have been biting my nails for 25 years. I am going to try this and share my results. Thank you Dr. Berg!
Dr. Berg I was just looking through your channel for videos on OCD, and I find it really spooky that you posted about it today! Can’t wait to watch. I’m usually a proponent of natural solutions but I decided to take fluoxetine which came with some immediate side effects but they’ve now subsided largely and really helped with OCD. I don’t want to increase dosage so I’ll be employing a lot of natural remedies as well.
If I and my family knew these data before my brother died… Thank you so much for your hard work Dr Berg & Team.
Thank you doctor Berg for raising this important topic. I want to share my experience ,that my ocd was definitely improved on keto diet. But the most important factor was getting off the gluten. So for me even if I am not on a keto diet just by cutting off the gluten made a huge improvement
Thank you for this. Been suffering since i was 8. It comes in waves but when it is rough…it is absolutely debilitating 🙁 i only took medication for 2.5 years and took myself off. I find it hard to heal through therapy, as well. I have noticed meditation, bringing myself back to the present moment, saying no to the thoughts and rituals, and allowing myself to feel what i am experiencing and letting it pass without force have really helped me
