  3. I take 500mg per day non diabetic. Zero effect on aerobic or resistance training and its benefits. losing fat (abdominal fat) is best

    • Keto diet. Intermittent fasting too. I’m never really hungry anymore since IF. Even when I get TOO thin.

  4. Even as a non-diabetic maybe you’ll change your thoughts about metformin when you will be 50+ yrs. Until then take care.

    • His analysis is in agreement with my research over the past month.

      I probably spent 20 hours reading scientific publications and watching podcasts from longevity experts discussing their views on Metformin.

  6. I take 2 grams of metformin a day and my performance in gym / cardio workouts / muscle grow has never been better

  7. I actually started Metformin about 1 month ago and was using about 500mg per day for the 1st week/acclimation period when I came across studies discussing its negative effects on VO2 max and muscle hypertrophy.

    Hence, I stopped using it after 1 week as I feel that the benefits of muscle growth for me in combatting insulin resistance is greater than the benefit I’d get from Metformin.

    I do agree if someone has severe insulin resistance and/or unable to resistance train, then the benefit of Metformin is likely worth it’s use.

    Essentially, the healthier you are in terms of glucose regulation/control the less benefit you will garner from Metformin.

    • I’m a long term CRON & extreme intermittent faster – almost 16yrs now. My insulin sensitivity is very high naturally, but it’s crazy low since living this lifestyle. I can’t imagine how Metformin could benefit me.

      Do rodents eating healthy diets live longer on Metformin? I bet not. They don’t feed lab rats good food.
