Today we’re going to talk about the potential benefits of sulforaphane for autism.
Sulforaphane is a natural chemical in cruciferous vegetables and other vegetables. Sulforaphane can be beneficial for other conditions as well, including:
• H. pylori
• HIV
• Hepatitis C and B
• SARS-CoV-2
People with autism have a low antioxidant capacity, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation. One of the lowered antioxidants is glutathione.
Lowered glutathione is also involved in conditions other than autism, including:
• COPD
• Alzheimer’s
• Parkinson’s
• Cancer
• Autoimmune diseases
• ADHD
• Bipolar disorder
• Schizophrenia
• H. pylori
• HIV
A certain protein called Nrf2 is the master regulator of all of the antioxidants your body makes, including glutathione. This protein also activates detoxification enzymes, helps regulate T helper cells, and helps protect against oxidation and oxidative stress.
Things that inhibit Nrf2:
• High-sugar diets
• Lack of sleep
• Stress
• Glyphosate
• Alcohol
• Smoking
• Toxins
• Medications
• Infections
• Gene alterations
Things that trigger Nrf2:
1. Sulforaphane
2. Selenium, cysteine, glutamine, and tryptophan
3. NAC
4. Glutathione
5. Prolonged fasting
6. Cruciferous and sulfur vegetables
7. Alpha-lipoic acid
8. Vitamins A, C, D, E, and zinc
9. Milk thistle
10. Exercise
11. EGCG (green tea)
12. Healthy gut microbes

Also shown to reduce tumour growth in some types of cancer.
YES!!🥦
Which types of cancer?
My daughter stutters and it on the spectrum and I am going to change her diet and increase her vitamin intake to see if that will help with her speech and stress! Thanks for the information ✨👏🏽🔥
@jan smith Really now! I missed that one. I’m about to look it up now!
@Cupkait Tank I’ve been on this roller coaster with her for awhile now and I don’t have the answers I need and she’s a teen now so I’m doing everything possible to help her so she can thrive! And … Thank you 😊
@Yondainc will do!
I have autism, and when I was doing keto my symptoms almost completely vanished. I was amazed that thats how life is supposed to be for other people. I only stopped keto because of a kitchen remodel which took a very long time so i couldnt cook. It’s very good for seizures too which is quite common for women/girls on the spectrum. Definately worth trying for your daughter. My main veg was broccoli too.
P.s. some issues returned but it may be because I was not being as strict as before.
I used to stutter when I was 5 or 6 … It went away somehow (by itself?) I also have autism but I wasn’t diagnosed until i was 48! I am from that lost generation of autistic girls from the late 70s early 80s. Never went to doctors or anything (my family didn’t believe in that) but I do recall my mother giving me these little pale pink B12 pills. Dont know if that was related to it going away or not. But it did go away. I also read that the stuttering can be a form of stimming.

@LIG 247 👍🙏
OH YES SPINACH & ICE TEA.
The precursors for glutathione are:
• Cysteine
• Glutamate
• Glycine
Why in this case glutamate is so important but monosodic glutamate is neurotoxic?
is that glutamate or glutamine?
Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid that occurs as a protein building block in almost all animal and vegetable foods. Glutamates are salts of glutamic acid.
One Dr Berg’s video a day keeps the doctors away 😊
I’ve been watching him daily for over 10 years, and I STILL learn so much from his live streams!
Imo a balanced combination of both is top notch 👍🏻👍🏻
Fact
Yes,you are right.
@guy sumpthin That is very true.
My daughter is autistic and she went through a period of craving broccoli 🥦 We couldn’t figure out what was in it that she was craving so this is interesting.
@Rainee Day TINY Films Yes my daughter loves seafood too! At the moment it’s tuna 🐟
@jan smith Me and my daughter take krill oil now but maybe we should add sea kelp to our mix too? I’ll look into it 🙂
My autistic grandson LOVES broccoli and eats all of his portion first, then begs for mine too
@Natalie Padar Yes. Self healing and self adjusting.
@jan smith Omega 3
You are Incredible Dr. Berg, Better than ANY so called M D. I have ever known as far as giving a picture of what is happening in our own body. THANK YOU.
I ran a cross a video the other day where your son was saying some things about you and I wrote that he would one day be sorry for that and man I got jumped on by the whole forum, anyway Best Regards.
Every day I am waiting for new clip from your channel, and the rest time I am watching back some videos which I was missing before.Thank you so much Doctor Eric Berg ❤
You’re welcome. Hope you are learning a lot here. Stay safe.
I watch his old live streams. So much info in those!
Sulforaphane is definitely a game changer in my life as an adult male on the autism spectrum. I was curious if taking NAC would enhance its effectiveness. Because Sulforaphane seems to increase the synthesis of Glutathione levels. NAC is the precursor to glutathione. So I was curious if that would form a synergy between the two. I’m also taking Glycine. So I will report back over the next few months to let everyone know.
After watching this video I might take Selenium too!!!!
@General B you tested it & saw results in less than 40 minutes? (according to YouTube, he post his/her reply ~40min ago)
@General B Thanks for elaborate comments with do much of information 🙏
What “symptoms” is he referring to, because there is a vast array of characteristics of autism. Does it improve communication skills? Motor Skills? Anxiety? Stemming?
Good Morning , Dr Berg 🌞

Another fantastic podcast full of extremely important information! Thank you, Dr Berg!
Dr. Berg, I’d love to see a video going deep into EDS. I was diagnosed at 48 with hEDS after a lifetime of curious symptoms, and doctors never believed me. I’m interested in a connection with this topic on Nrf2 proteins, since autism is also connected to EDS. My EDS specialist also claims that supplements and diet have no effect on my symptoms which I highly doubt. Please research this condition!
