8:28 Learn more about what causes a vitamin B1 deficiency!

Let’s talk about stress. I recently experienced a stress event, and I want to talk about what happens in the body when a person goes through something like this. We’re also going to discuss how to get rid of stress and how to prevent stress.

Certain stressors on the body, like exercise, heat therapy, or cold therapy, are in your control and have positive effects on the body.

But, negative stress is out of your control and can have harmful effects. This lack of control could be related to a situation, condition, or relationship.

In a stress state, you have a lot of involuntary glandular secretions and reactions occurring. Two parts of the body have both involuntary and voluntary control: the diaphragm and skeletal muscles.

Controlled breathing exercises and walking are powerful to put yourself back in control of these systems and pull yourself out of a reactive fight or flight mode.

It’s also important to understand that a vitamin B1 deficiency can mimic mild hypoxia and trigger your stress reflexes. Vitamin B1 is crucial to help pull yourself out of a stress state and even prevent stress.

Overall, the best things when dealing with stress are:
1. Controlled breathing exercises
2. Walks
3. Vitamin B1

  1. Walks always help me. Especially walking in areas with very little people, or on trails. Great way to get plenty of oxygen and vitamin D also.

  2. Controlled breathing, ✔️
    Long walks✔️
    and B1 ✔️
    helps control stress.
    Thank you Dr Berg!
    🐱👍🏿

    Excellent information!
Deep breathing is immediate and free.
Amazing stress reliever. Make deep breathing a routine. 😃👍
The tractor accident could have gone a lot worse. Your blessed to come out alive.
We are blessed to have you.
    Stay safe.
    Peace love and blessings!

  4. I experienced an extremely stressful event and ended up at the hospital for several days with a Takotsubo or cardiomyopathy situation. While I may not have been able to prevent this, the information you shared today is not only important, it could absolutely be lifesaving. Thank you Dr. Berg!

  5. Ashwanga has helped me a lot. I’ve also been improving on all of my b vitamins; especially B1 lately. In a recent video you mentioned the amygdala gland. That is the fight-or-flight controller.

  6. Have lost 45 lbs. in 3 months thanks to Dr. Berg’s videos guiding me, along with a natural supplement forskolin. Keep it up Dr. Berg!

    • @DS Sanders Had first started with forskolin, a mint-based supplement that helped curb the late-night carb cravings that were my addiction. Then found Dr. Berg’s videos. Didn’t eat until around 2 in the afternoon. My low carb indulgence was tacos without the tortillas or tomatoes. Made a cilantro-arugula pesto. With skin-on chicken. Went to the gym daily and did high-intensity stationary biking for 40 minutes. Went from 242 to 197 lbs today.

  7. I tell you something. For a few hours following panic or extended states of this hyperstressed state I feel like I just can’t stop having to pee. It’s insane. I run to to the restroom over and over with urgency. I have learned how to actually stop most panic attacks when they are about to happen or even when they are actually underway. This that you describe here is one way I do that. Another way is grounding exercises. While breathing (focusing on the long exhale of course) I look around for things I can see, feel, hear, taste, smell or I look for varying things like, 5 red things, 5 blue things, 5 green things etc… It really helps get the mind back on track.

  8. One million percent need this advice with the copious amound of stress Im under now, thank you Dr Berg ❤

  9. Please be careful Dr. Berg! The world needs people like you! Glad you’re safe and managed to situation well.

  10. I love starting my day out with an intense workout followed by breath work to de-stress! Sets my day right up for success!

  11. Your videos are always on time. I have been searching your videos for tingling on right side of face. (Soreness around cheek bone, ear affected, feeling infected, etc around cheek bone underneath and around right side). I got a new wire on my brace 2 weeks ago, and last week had teeth cleaned. I found a video and I am now massaging the opposite side of my face and it is feeling better. Being a “Baby Boomer”, I will call my doctor today. Dr. Berg you have taught me so much. I could go on and on about the details of the information you provide. I have referred your videos to others for information. Thank you so much.

  12. Good morning Dr. Berg, I’m sorry that you had this awful situation. Thankfully you weren’t hurt. Thank you for sharing this wonderful advice. I really needed to hear this today.

  13. My job as a truck driver is really stressful. Controlled breathing and working out helps me out to keep my stress levels down.

  14. Thank God you managed the dangerous situation and survived, Dr! Your guardian angels must know you are needed here on Earth. Thank you for sharing this stressful experience. Listen to your wise wife next time and take care, please.
God bless both of you! 😇🙏💖

  15. Berg i must say you had me laughing hard mate 🤣🤣when you said “At that moment, i had a stress event” like it happens to you once every 10 years man i have a stress event every 5 hours 😂😂 im so glad for you that you’re safe and that you don’t have such events often. Good for you berg! much love

    • Ha. Same. I stress out as if it’s life or death when in reality it’s just about being late.

  16. So glad you’re OK. You’ve helped me change my life for the better and you’re helping so many people get healthy. What is the best way to decompress after stressful days at work. My first guess is probably exercise or maybe a walk, but would love some help input. Thank you for all you do.

  17. This Doctor needs to be cloned and put into EVERY medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about HEALTH. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos. I respect this man immensely.

  18. I lost 120 lbs in the last 15 months, and I’m aiming for another 20 lbs to be at my high school weight. 😊 All because I watched a Dr Berg gallbladder video in November 2021 that led to me buying his book, and learning everything I can from him by watching his videos. Thank you! I’m eagerly waiting for his gardening channel to start so I can learn more about regenerative farming. ❤
