Can you list the specific brands of supplements you mentioned in the video please? At least Ecdy/Turk seems to have a lot of bunk on the market.

Btw, I did take a quick look and saw that I won’t get much glycine from my daily TMG. Each of the three methyl groups is larger/heavier than the glycine. So 1 tsp of TMG might only give 1-2 grams of glycine – if my quick calculations are correct.

Are you taking it just for the methyls or are you actually trying to take into account the ~1g of glycine in tmg towards the ~15g or so you need?
@P Jaworek Just for the methyl groups. Especially with creatine before bicycle short-steep-hill sprints and also for PWO recovery.

@Ena Lo it has something to do with your nerve system and good for your brain (can improve Alzheimer etc)
So many things deplete or block thiamine. How much? With autoimmune and/or allergies, this might be a good idea.
My experience with supplements that work:
Magnesium – cold air exercise induced asthma disappeared forever
Astaxanthin – used to get mole formation after a lot of sun, this prevents that
K2 – dental health improved
Biotin – seems to guard against hair thinning

hi thanks for the video!! quick question, do you think lectins and oxalates are dangerous? I’m trying to perfect my nutrition but I’m reading conflicting ideas about foods like spinach (high oxalate) and foods high in lectins like nightshades and beans. Thanks so much for the help!!
Not dangerous for vast majority of people
Depends if you have an autoimmune disease or gut problem. For the oxalates, more problems come with higher amounts, so just don’t consume high amounts.
Quality magnesiums, L-theanine for focus/relax and more *potent l-tyrosene for focus/energy
How much tyrosine? I’m not really noticing 500mg in the morning.
Magnesium changed my life. I take a magnesium complex every day, and magnesium threonate in the morning. If I need to relax at night or have muscle soreness, I take magnesium glycinate in the evening.
Collagen from Gelita at just 2.5g/d initially and i felt it within a week with thicker plumper feeling skin. That was 6-7years ago. Im now on 15-20g. Love it!

@Siim Land yeah the NMN is expensive too. But I love drinking so it’s worth it. These supplements boost NAD and Glutathione levels which in studies has been shown to prevent liver damage associated with alcohol use. Anyone who has fun drinking should take NAC and NMN

All your videos are very interesting. However, very much of results that work for you , seems that you are prioritising muscle growths in order to judge the supplement positive. I think that might be a short term benefit and without knowledge over long term benefits. In principle, supplements that promote muscle cell growth may also promote cancer cell initiation and growth. Especially if supplementing those amino acids that are represented in higher percentage in animal foods campare to plant foods. Be careful please, one thing is to judge “what works for me NOW” compared to what works for a long health- and lifespan. Still, Calorie Restriction IS THE ONLY lifestyle modification that acually has been proved to increase lifespan.
If all you want to do is lounge around like an earthworm, then calorie restriction works great to add extra years of lounging.
But if you want to move and have fun in life, muscles are great to have.

Do you take HMB while fasted or after your workout? I have been taking it right before a meal to improve protein uptake and it seems to be helping me put on more muscle. If I take it fasted before a workout will it cancel the effects of autophagy?

I’m confused. Sounds like you’re saying to take protein shakes and amino acids while “fasting?” Many of the benefits of fasting arise only in the absence amino acid sensing. Doesn’t consuming amino acids and protein kinda defeat the purpose?

@Siim Land How so? If, for instance, I’m “fasting” in the morning, then taking amino acids or protein in the morning would cancel out the fast, wouldn’t it? Trying to see how this is different from saying one could eat while fasting. Seems like a contradiction.
Creatine is the only one I’ve actually literally immediately felt. Electrolytes, and magnesium in particular, stopped the headaches I was waking up with in the middle of the night and stopped muscle cramps. Benfotiamine controlled my peripheral neuropathy.
I take EAAs and additional leucine, but I can’t say I know they’ve worked.
I should probably consider glycine, for starters, as my connective tissue is giving me fits at 59.
PS: I already take collagen.
