Let's talk about the best meal to detox the liver. It's important to keep in mind that a liver detox is very different from a liver cleanse.

Liver "cleanses" won't help you clean your liver in any significant way. But supporting your natural detoxification process may be beneficial.

Your liver has two phases of detoxification that help get rid of toxins. The goal of this detoxification process is to turn poisons into harmless water-soluble particles.

Dr Berg you are a legend I’d give anything to see you all my Dr over here in Northern Ireland just throws tablets at me without even assessing me, I’ve no gallbladder, I’ve non alcoholic fatty liver disease, I’ve fibromyalgia, I’ve been diagnosed with chronic inflammation, I’ve also got a large hernia, and i suffer from ibs, am at my wits end crying with pains & feel am not getting anywhere with my Dr, God bless you all the way from Northern Ireland 🙏🌹🇮🇪☘️

      I had high liver enzymes as a vegan, likely nafld. They’re normal now since starting choline. My half MD/half ND said thats what did it.

  2. I am incredibly grateful sir. Am in my first week of keto/fasting after having to take some heavy duty antibiotics and I couldn’t take the worry about my liver any more. Of course add all the other factors in like being overweight and a sugar addict. I have been bingeing healthily… on your wonderful, easy to understand and compassionate videos. I salute you Dr B.

    • @Spam Mouse  Thank you Mouse. As an ex athlete I think a big part of my getting stuck was the shame at how everything went downhill. But to move forward I need to leave that behind and although at the start of my journey, fasting and keto feels like a pair of rare immediately comfortable shoes. The kind you keep for life.

      And indeed… I am devouring all the information I possibly can while keeping my antenna up for unreliable or biased accounts, sadly of which there are many.

    Cruciferous veggies ie broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, arugula – the more bitter the better

    Add herbs if possible ie thyme, sage, turmeric, rosmary, cayenne pepper, oregano, etc.

  9. Dr Berg, thank you so much for your informative videos. This video made me aware that 5 years ago I swallowed an apricot seed by accident. Ii was stuck in my throat. I couldn’t breathe. I was alone. I ran to the kitchen and started taking coconut oil. The seed moved inside my stomach. I mentioned this to my family doctor and she asked me that if I was able to go to the bathroom. My answer was affirmative. Now, I am having problems with my intestine. I have constantly intestinal inflammation, gas, belching constantly. I don’t know if it is due to the seed or to the slow metabolism (I have hypothyroidism) or parasites or a mix of everything. As always, the dr doesn’t want to order more lab test besides the annual blood test.

  10. Dr. Berg I swear you’re a wizard. I was looking over my blood test from a couple months ago and saw that i had an abnormally high AST (88 U/L) level which is related to the liver problems and possible liver inflammation and not an hour passes by and you sent this right on recommended page 🙏

    • I had elevated liver enzymes and pain in my liver after years of eating ketogenic diet. My liver even had fibrosis even though I don’t drink alcohol. It was all the fat. I started on a low fat whole food plant based diet and my liver enzyme numbers are normal now.

This makes so much sense, last summer and the summer before that I was eating meals of eggs, onions, garlic and greens almost every single morning, with fresh herbs from the garden, and that probably kept me afloat, a lot of stress has happened since then, my mother passed and I moved to a farm with my partner. And my gallbladder started giving me really bad signals. Thank you for this information dr berg, you are truly a godsend ❤️

I was diagnosed with diabetes 15 days ago and my fasting blood sugar was 198 which came to 80 in 10 days and the random blood sugar has come to 90s. I have also lost 11.5 pounds in just 15 days. Just few questions remain that if I am able to reverse my diabetes then is an occaisional carb meal safe for me? Or will it still kill me? Is diabetes permanently reversible?
