  2. You missed one of the most crucial factors: Intermittent fasting is bad for the economy. The corporations behind consumer culture drives content by directing resources to content creators that support and uphold mainstream narratives.

    • Very true, capitalism favours consumers to buy and consume as much food as possible. We know that we only really perform optimally mentally when we are not digesting food, AKA fasting. Therefore, to reach your maximum mental potential you must select The foods that allow you to fast for the longest possible period without being hungry. A truly smart person will see capitalism for the destructive force it is, realise it is not in their interest and start seeing truth. Has anyone else noticed that in the final hours of a fast, it feels as though your consciousness has reached previously unattained levels. You begin to see the world differently, and can operate mentally at a far superior
      Calibre. It is not hard to see that all of religions great prophets discovered their profound insights, whilst in a deep, fasted state. Magical!

  4. Attia has useful perspective ie IF is just one of several possible “levers” to adjust in diet, carb composition being another, and calories another (hope I’m remembering those right).

  6. My HIT my heat rate got to 205 bpm: impossible for my age some say ! intermitent fstng 6 years . Am 62 never been healthier . Many say I look younger

  7. For the same reason, they once said coffee was bad for you, then changed their minds, and said it was good for you and then changed their minds again and said it was bad again. Science is only as good as the last study. lol.

  9. Siim, I just want to take a minite to thank you for amazing content you have provided the people. The first video I watched was ‘How to survive 24 hours of fasting’ or something along those line which inspired me to stsrt doing IF and prolonged fasting.
    After some many years of fasting and healtier eating, no scientist or anything else can tell me otherwise. The effects are amazing and self evident that its its saner to say that the Earth is flat rather than fasting is bad for you.
    I wish you all the best, keep inspiring the people to better themselves and making the world a better place.
    You’re definitely one of the better examples of ‘peak male peformance’ and how people can take better care of themsevles by actually doing less things and make their wallet happier at the same time (saving monry and getting healthier? Fasting is the best thing even before fire was invented haha)

  11. Thanks for the vid always inspiring! As soon as Im about to give up on fasting altogether Siim always gives me good enough reason to get back on it. IMF has always served me nothing but well, I dont know why allow myself to doubt it. 1 point I want to reiterate for those who are worried about muscle loss. If you have a low BMI you probably are going to lose a bit of muscle tissue with calorrie restriction and losing a lot of body weight/fat but if you have a higher BMI you can still make huge gains in muscle while losing fat at the same time. Needs to be stressed for the heavies out there in doubt.

  12. Slim, do you have a reference for the graph at 5:20 showing muscle protein synthesis increasing with protein consumed? The reason I ask is that some researchers claim there is a minimum threshold of 30g of protein at a meal that you have to reach before muscle even starts to build. Your graph shows that muscle can build to some degree at much lower amounts.

  13. What about the effects of autophagy, and having higher HGH, when you are intermittent fasting? People who eat multiple small meats do not get those benefits. Or is that being disputed?

    • I think he left that out which is strange because he talked about it in the past. My opinion is you are metabolically healthier if you reduce your meals Eating all the time also keep your blood sugar higher all the time which have other negative effects.

  14. Very timely video Siim, I’ve followed you and many other content creators and you’re right some of the health/bio hackers not all are starting to question IF. I’m 57 and benefit immensely from a combination of IF, KETO, vitamin supplementation, exercise and healthy diet. I’m riding DH mtn bike like I never have when I was young, the bicycles today are phenomenal compared to years ago so I gotta give them their due. When I was 47 I was truly thinking I would be done mtn biking in a few years now I wanna ride to 65! Keep up the great work!

  15. unpopular opinion: As long as you have a balanced diet with high, healthy protein intake, the increased stress you get from adhering to some ridiculous eating routine overrides any possible benefits. Sometimes, healthy people see treatments designed for obese people which yield results and they mistakenly think it’ll work on themselves for longevity benefits. There’s a reason these treatments are only recommended to overweight people; it’s because they need to lose excess body fat fast. Depriving your body of vital nutrients will achieve the opposite effect for healthy people.
