You’ve probably seen advertisements offering a program that can help you burn fat and get shredded without doing keto, paleo, or even exercise. This diet only requires you to cut out added sugar and processed foods.
But is this program too good to be true? The short answer: for most people, yes.
Fat burning and weight loss are about what you eat and when you eat. It’s really tied to insulin. If you lower your insulin, your body can stop storing fat and will start burning fat. The lower your carbohydrates, the more fat you’re going to burn.
It’s harder for some people to lose weight than others because they have insulin resistance. Some people can lose weight by only reducing their carbs because they don’t have insulin resistance. But this is rare.
About 70% of the population has insulin resistance. The two main things that increase insulin are carbs and frequent eating. The more insulin resistance you have, the more you have to reduce your carbs and do intermittent fasting.
The problem with the V Shred program is that it focuses on a very small percentage of the population that can lose weight by reducing junk foods and processed sugar. The majority of people will need to at least do fasting to experience results.
It’s also important to remember that it’s not just about weight loss. It’s about getting healthy and looking good as you lose weight. I believe the best way to get healthy and lose weight is to get on the Healthy Keto® diet (lower your carbs and increase the quality of your food), do intermittent fasting, and do the right exercise.

Thank you so much for creating this amazing video sir. People should pay attention more to this type of fake commercials and influencers 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️
This is just one reason why I like Dr. Berg and his channel. He’s not afraid to call BS on some of the wanky stuff out there luring unsuspecting people into. Good information with explanations that I can understand to back it up. ❤
DR Berg, I started at the end of July 2022, Watched your videos approx in September, I lost around 32-35 kg, Thank you

Well done. 👍
Congrats on the weight loss. 😀
Did you get leg inflammation from the walking or diet programme? I assume the walking but just so I’m understanding correctly.
@BurTV i got knee pain from running every day or like 5 times a week, but when rest for like 1 2 weeks then all good, by the time the knee heal again
Congratulations on your success with Keto/ IF! This is amazing! I would love to hear more about your success story. Feel free to upload your story here: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story
That is amazing results🤩🎉 congratulations!!! What is your started weight?
I’m happy you addressed this dude. Sick of the commercials.
Same here, it seems like a click strategy
I agree, I don’t want to see a creepy guy with no shirt on.
So agree!! 🎉
Ditto.
Indeed. That commercial is really irritating.
I am so glad you did this video! It turns my stomach every time this ad pops up…and I have tried many times to change my settings not to see it. Even my boyfriend was tempted by this, although he has seen my success with keto and IF. Thank you, Dr. Berg!
Thanks to your videos I now eat only twice a day (skipping breakfast), avoid sugars and do walking and running exercises every day. I’m loosing weight like crazy and already feel way better then last year.
I was doing the one meal a day and I lost so much weight so fast that I had to make some adjustments. I also exercise/weight lifting, and that with the adjustment I made I am now in GREAT shape and feeling good.
I am thankful.
What if I want to gain a bit of weight?
Do you eat other carbs like pasta?
Hands down the best advice ever for losing weight and keeping it off. 62 years, 6’2″ and 242 pounds on January 1 2023. On June 1 I hit my goal of 180 lbs. First time I hit this weight was back in year I of college 1980. Took me two weeks to eliminate carbs (lower then 25 grams per day) from diet and reach OMAD. By the second month I started walking 8000 steps per day, month 3 reached 10,000 steps per day. 4th month I incorporated resistant training
Good job!
What’s your body fat now?
Congrat’s !!!!
I cured my carbs by fooling my body. Jellos helped, particularly ones that don’t have artificial sweeteners. Flavored with a tad of natural fruit. You can eat jellos all day and never gain a pound but your cravings for carbs I found went to zero eating jello. One or two a day after meals. I’m over 50 also and I found that rather than doing long walking or brisk walking, I would just go to the park and do 5 sets of fast sprints. 3 to 5 minutes between them while regularly walking for a mile or so. This also cured me of plantar fasciitis, shin splint issues and I got flat feet..I don’t know if this approach is tried by others but it worked over any other physical activity I did especially over walking and have no joint issues going this route. And found that I can either run or walk further than before, by doing these very small sprints of maybe 30 meters or 100 feet. I start off slow, than go as fast as I can and it’s over in seconds. I think the benefit is adrenaline rush with heart rate up and muscle burn. Can’t explain it how it works but just great results without wear and tear on the joints. My leg muscles and waist have actually felt like these sprint have helped to build lean muscle whereas distance walking never did that for me.
@Noel Jordan i
I believe you. Weighed 157 last week. Did one meal a day, carb free. One week later 145. I’m sure it’s water but I am pretty excited to keep going. I think carbs hold my water.
I see his commercial all the time! Once even passed the test “body type”, then in the middle of it I started to think: “yeah right. Eating donuts and pizzas and be like him”. It doesn’t mean it’s not true. He can afford eating it as he is so muscular, it doesn’t do any harm. Thank you docotr for this amazing video!
You can eat that stuff. You just need to fit it into your daily macro nutrients and eat about 500 calories below your calorie maintenance level. The opposite is true if you want to build muscle, eat above your maintenance level.
Berg cured me of my curiosity 😅😅😅…ijs ❤
If you do intense workouts or lift weight everyday for at least 40 mins you can afford to eat pizzas or donuts, it all transforms into energy that you get to spend and men have also an advantage when it comes to burning fat better than women do. At the same time… that would be intensively working out. You can still lose weight without doing that, you just need to be at least 500 calories down each day in your current diet considering your energy expenditure. But it also depends on the person, their weight, their medical issues and so on.
Intermittent fasting works because you are basically eating less and feeling more satiated when you do eat plus you get rid of cravings.
Thank you Dr. Berg! Your intentions to help people is genuine, as your information is free 🙂
I am 54 and going through menopause (which I don’t believe is natural). A friend recommended Dr Berg and the Keto diet 4 months ago. After being on a vegan diet for 6 years, (which didn’t benefit me), I did the Keto diet with intermittent fasting combined with cold showers and I lost the 5 extra unwanted kilos. I no longer suffer from bloating and feel amazing. I have more energy and no more brain fog. I am back to my normal size and I can fit into my daughter’s size 8 jeans!! Thank you Dr Berg. ❤❤❤
Fake account
I went through menopause at 54 (now 67), but I started the process around 45, so I think you may be more natural than you think. I have a friend going through the beginning stages at 48. One thing that most don’t talk about is that it can take 10 years from start to fully menopaused.
the no more “brain fog”is also on a carbohydrate diet minus. medications or other addons. I mean on a healthy diet, which could include carbohydrates and no refined sugar you wont have brain fog!
@leonlouis This “fake account” has been around for over 6 years. What are you basing your accusation on?
@Creepy Crespi his own very troubled life
I give Dr Berg a huge amount of credit for my current health. I have been doing IF and keto for 3 year now because of information I got from him. I consider him to be a hero in a society that has been captured by a horrible diet driven by corporate profit.
Absolutely I agree Dr Berg helped me too ❤
I lost 70 lbs on keto within a year. My only exercise was being on my feet at work ~8 hours a day. To be honest, I ate as much as I wanted every day and still lost. The difference is that your hormones regulate themselves and your hunger is sated with far less food. I could eat an entire large pizza easily, before keto. On keto, I would be full from a small steak and a couple of eggs.
When I take a break from keto, the first thing I notice is how much hungrier I am all day.
I’m so thankful I found doctors like you and Dr Seyfreid. My sister passed away from breast cancer a year ago (she was 37), and I’ve been on this journey of trying to understand why. And how to prevent it. Thank you for all you do.❤
I’m sorry to hear of your sister’s passing. My mum and my best friend Dr John both passed away from cancer found in stage 4. We might not ever understand why. All you can do is grieve and be blessed you had her in your life even if it was for a short time. Not a day goes by without me thinking of my mum and best friend.
So sorry for your loss. That is too young to lose a beloved sister. May YOU be blessed with health and joy!
I’m 63 years old and I’ve been training since was was 13 years old. I started intermittent fasting a year ago with a keto lifestyle. I change to body weight exercising. I lost 20kgs of external and internal body fat with no muscle loss in fact Ive got stronger with more muscle mass naturally. I also lost my aches and pains. I feel very young physically. Thanks Dr Berg
Can you specify what Body weight training is?
It’s awesome that you address this ad that I get spammed with constantly. You’re legit Dr Berg! I’ve never had results like I’ve had since listening to you! I’m so anxious to release my weight loss videos now, but I”m going to wait for my target goal to do so.
Excellent video . All true . I am 61 and I am insulin’s resistant. I cannot loose weight but I am adding weight slowly but steadily . I am about 30 pounds overweight. And it is heavy going . I used to be 50 kg and even though people called me skinny I enjoyed not having all this weight on my frame of 5 foot 3. Thank you dr . It is true you can cut carbs and not loose weight. It is the frequency of eating what at my age will surely make a difference
I went from 241 lbs to 219 lbs in 3 months using the advice you give. I am feeling better! My short term goal is 200 lbs, and long term goal is 175 lbs, the wight I was on active duty. I am 6ft tall. Your advice combined with exercise and rest is golden. I learned so much from your channel!
That’s awesome! I look forward to hearing your story as you are reaching your goals!
Thanks to your Keto diet and intermittent fasting guide, I was able to loose 45 lbs in 3 month. Matter of fact, my doctor recommended me to slow down on weight loss, because I may end up with sagging skin in my belly and hip. It is amazing how I am not craving food any more and how much more energy I have. You are the best. 🙏🙏
One of the best things about this dude is that he never takes credit for himself when he uploads something. He always respects us, the audience, and he is always full of energy in his videos. Keep up the hard work!!
