Let’s talk about osteoporosis and osteopenia. There is no way you can build up your bone with just calcium. If you try, you could end up with calcification of your arteries.
Osteoporosis is a loss of bone density and bone mass. This increases your risk of fractures. Osteopenia is the stage that occurs just before osteoporosis.
It’s been found that people with osteoporosis have a much higher degree of calcification in the arteries and joints. This means a person has excess calcium, but it’s not going to the right places in the body.
When dealing with osteoporosis and osteopenia, we can’t just look at a loss of calcium. We also need to consider vitamin K2 deficiency and vitamin D3 deficiency.
Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption, and vitamin K2 helps drive calcium into the bones. If you take vitamin K2 as a supplement, it may be best to take the natural form called MK7. Vitamin A (retinol) is another important vitamin to support healthy bones.
These essential vitamins for osteoporosis are all fat-soluble, which means supporting your gallbladder and liver is crucial. Bile salts can help support the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients if you have a gallbladder or liver problem. It’s also essential to have strong acid in the stomach to absorb minerals and trace minerals.
I would still take some form of calcium if I had osteoporosis. But I would also take these other nutrients. I would also avoid calcium carbonate, which is less bioavailable than other forms. Try to get your calcium and other nutrients from food.
Other important minerals and trace minerals for strong bones:
• Magnesium
• Potassium
• Zinc
• Copper
• Boron
Be sure you’re also consuming high-quality sources of protein and are exercising consistently to help with osteoporosis and osteopenia.

Having osteopenia recently diagnosed with very high (504) calcium BUT all other yearly testing perfect finally… I’ve been told to cut my 10,000 D3 down to one a week. This being after 4 years of taking and following you and resulting also in 4 years of no metformin and diet controlled type 2 diabetes yay!
So I’ll push up the K2 & MK7 I think as well!

If you feel good why cut down? Your Vitamin D level is probably over 100 but you probably haven’t experienced toxicity I’m guessing .
@PJ Previte The problem would be too much calcium in the blood which can cause issues. D3 can do this.
Pushing D3 too hard will actually calcify your body. Lower the D3 for balance as too much will require more K2
@Biggie Cheese why not take a maintenance dose of 5,000 iu’s plus K2 an call it good? Otherwise you would have to take it wait a while for levels to fall then take it again just keep taking a certain dose to maintain
@PJ Previte That’s what I am saying, thank you for making it clearer. It may be somewhere around 5,000 IU D3 and 100mcg K2 or more. Depending on their level of calcification.
Dear Doctor Berg. Thank you very much for your information. During 2 years I was on Prednisolon which I stopped after watching your video. I am also on Clexane injections for 2 years. 2 years ago my rght hip was unfortunately overtwisted by sonographer in the POW Hospital during experimental PET Scan, she ruptured myGluteus Muscle, in 15 minutes after overtwisting my hip, she lost her balance, because she was standing on her tiptoes and she broke my right knee. Last week I had Bone Density Scan and I was told that I have a Femoral neck osteoporosis in the same right hip. I am so grateful to you for the very important useful video. I wonder is it possible that my injury influenced on getting osteoporosis? God will bless you for so important help.
At age 32 female, I was diagnosed with osteopenia after randomly breaking both my ankles within 8wks of each other just by walking across the lawn and stepping into minor pot holes.
Was an avid rollerblader, never broke a bone in my life and was completely fit and healthy.
Completely bizarre.
You made a statement that made me realize…. Osteoporosis and therefore Osteopenia is reversible.

@Rob Hole I believe that EMF stands for electromagnetic field which is radiation given off by any kind of electrical device, primary among those that are considered significant or “bad” are cell phones and smart meters. But any kind of device that runs on electricity produces electro magnetic radiation.

Talking of osteoporosis, I managed to find one toothpaste on the shelves that didn’t contain so-called ‘fluoride’ (something I should definitely get a prize for, lol), and on the back of the tube was written, ‘Please note: This product does not contain fluoride and it’s advised that you find an alternative way of taking it’. 🤪

BHRT absolutely necessary after menopause. Lifelong athlete, great diet, fit, great health, and diagnosed w osteoporosis at 57. I was sideswiped by this, and I’m convinced it’s hormonal w me(as well as thin white woman proclivity). Ladies get a bone density scan asap and stay ahead of this!
Thanks dr B! Women – if you’ve lost your menstrual cycle and you are not old enough to be going through menopause, this is a huge red flag. I was really anorexic for years and this destroyed my bone density. Nutrients through nourishment / food are essential.
I had an addiction to Pepsi Max, at 58 I fell downstairs and broke a couple of vertebrae, I was very shocked to learn that I had Osteoporosis – I was even more shocked to learn that Coke and Pepsi are known to leach the calcium from the bones – as a Dr put it, they should have Osteoporosis in a bottle written as the label – because they were sugar free I thought they were ok – WHY IS THIS NOT A WIDELY KNOWN FACT?? I’m not saying it’s the only factor in my Osteoporosis, but it probably hasn’t helped. Needless to say I stopped drinking it – surprisingly, just like that without side effects, considering I was drinking at least 2 ltrs a day, the caffeine I was drinking was through the roof as I love coffee as well.
Thank you Dr. Berg. Digging around on where the word osteopenia came to be —Osteopenia is the normal slight thinning of bones that comes with aging. Looking further into a certain drug widely prescribed for this, and it’s side effects was an eye opener. It is that certain company’s golden goose.
