  2. if I supplement a lot of glycine (for example 30g), do I still need to supplement collagen, or will the body produce enough collagen on its own?

  3. im taking 3g glycine before bed, 10g collagen pre workout, and after 1 month my female coworkers tell me i look much younger looking and my skin is so nice, it’s definetly working out for me , had to start eating chocolate every other day cuz acne started flaring up ( think it was the chocolate). anyways, thank you, siim, for the helpful anti-aging videos

  4. May be a bit off topic but what is the ideal ratio needed between methionine and glycine per day?

  5. I think i am getting enough glycine?
    I eat bone broth chicken soup every day, sometimes also from cow but mostly chicken, that alone gives me 4-6 grams of glycine.
    I also eat 40 grams of hydrolysate whey protein and 10 grams of Collagen peptides. And then some days i add in 2-6 eggs on top, depending how hungry i feel.

  6. Does glycine need to be taken alone, without food or other amino acids? I take mine on an empty stomach, at night, but with Taurine and NAC.

  7. Is there even a point in taking collagen supplements then, if one could just take glycine itself?

    Especially since it’s also cheaper and tastes better in water, coffee, lemon water, or pretty much any other liquid.
    In fact, I do use it as a sugar substitute.

    I bet there are several studies proving the efficacy of supplementing collagen, but benefits of the various peptides or their combination (besides glycine) probably haven’t been figured out yet.

    • My logical understanding is that it’s the amino acids in collagen that are important not the collagen itself. Although I think some peptides in collagen powder do have a transporter in the small intestine. But we know so little about the thousands of petites in our blood. So if it’s just about the aminos than the other ones (other than glycine) you can get plenty in animal protein. So, yes, just glycine but with protein will do, but you have to sit down and calculate what it means to get enough of other aminos from protein. If it’s animal based protein (so with the nice optimal ratio of the right aminos) than going 1.5-1.8g/kg I think could be plenty enough. But again, sit down, read, calculate and share with us. Be proactive and never just really on others. Good luck to all of us!

  9. So, you’re taking 15 or more 1000 milligram capsules in a day of glycine? Or, if you’re taking the powder, how do you take it to where it is palatable?

  10. I take glycine powder. Noticing I’m more spaced out and making mistakes at work since doing so. Does Glycine hinder your brain function?

  11. Is glycine only for younger people? I got glycine for my mom and her doctor was like ‘it won’t do anything for her at her age (57).’ Dad is 62. Is there no point as you age? I didn’t find data to support NOT taking it when you’re older…

  12. I was listening to a video that said if you only take glycine it can actually increase aging. Supposedly you need an equal amount of NAC. Thoughts? That seems like a lot of NAC. I haven’t done any research on this yet.

  14. Ive been taking collagen for some years, not noticing much if any effect, after watching your videos I started taking 6grams of Glycine a day in addition, plus hyaluronic acid and I have very noticeable improvement in my skin firmness, smoothness, plumpness etc.. thanks

  15. very easy to use glycine as a sweetener. I use about 5g per half gallon of Lemonade. Might start using it for my coffee as well
