This is just so sad. Again if you’re super tall you can get away with having small muscle mass you will still look huge like deontay wilder or Klitschko. If you’re below 6 foot 3 and want to have “healthy” BMi and moderate muscle you will just be small it’s just so unfair
Hasn’t BMI multiple times been re-analyzed and found to be a bad measure of longevity? In any case most people are probably going to be fine if they don’t get excessively lean and use steroids. I’m not worried about it. Gaining muscle naturally unless you are a genetic outlier is a very long process to do lol
I was only briefly within the healthy range of bmi lmao. I was always overweight even at 13% body fat. And I am frigging small in terms of muscle mass at 5’6
@AlecFortescue yep! I’m healthy weight at a measly 140 pounds like 15 percent bodyfat according to bmi. I’m 20 pounds heavier than that now. I’m sure I’m probably overweight now. I bet a fitness dude like AD now Alex Leonidas is probably considered obese because he is significantly larger than me at a few inches shorter than me. (No knock on Alex, I like him btw)
@MadChris8828 rugby player are morbidly obese according to BMI, so… It’s a very bad thing to use a reference for anything imo. Just look good in the mirror, don’t overdo the calories, eat food your body tolerates, get sleep and don’t feel like dying with poor energy levels
Jo drank over 4 liters of coffee everyday. Coffee works essentially by arousing stress in the body so its not surprising that so much coffee caused or contributed to his demise
I love coffee but holy crap that’s a ton. Didn’t he also use pre-workout along with that?
of course, don’t drink 4 liters of coffee. But it’s baffling and annoying when an obvious steroid-abuser dies people comment “oh he drank/eat xy maybe that’s the culprit 🤔”
It was decaf probably. He would’ve died sooner if it was caffeinated
@Siim Land Is caffeinated coffee bad for you?
@RandomGuy-qg9xf yeah my favorite in pro bodybuilding circles is the guys who always site anything but drugs as the culprit. At least the honest bodybuilders will tell you over time steroids degrade your health. What’s craziest to me, is a lot of gymbros who don’t even understand pharmacology do that to themselves too. Like if you aren’t competing at the highest level in any sport or competition why do it??? What is there to gain but an early death
He took the medical proceedure.
Is that what happened to Zyzz too?
Is the elephant in the room that people keep talking about.
Just like how LeBron’s son got injured.
4 times, by his own words
Exercising too much and being very muscular is bad for longevity. Too much strain on the heart. On average, bodybuilders only reach about 48 years old. A lot of that is obviously because of the PEDs, but in general, moderate exercise (walking, lifting lighter weights, garden work, etc) is much better for the body.
Too much is bad for you yeah but the drugs are the issue with bodybuilding
RIP Jo
Arnold had health issues genetically
Steroids put stress on the entire body and when the steroid junky added the 4 injections into the mix he got the typical aneurism. We have seen the same thing with the pro soccer players. All just a “:coincidence” of course.
I really doubt having a lot of muscle mass leads to an early death. Only the ones on roids are dropping dead.
You can build a lot of muscle with roids but naturally it’s going to be harder
@Siim Land yeah, I didn’t disagree with that
@Siim Landhat still doesn’t mean more muscle means shorter life, correlation is not causation
6 years ago I used to live like a bodybuilder (5/6 meals, supplements, high weigth)
studying i realized that this is not the best option long term
i dropped my weigth significantly
Why?? Natural muscle mass is directly correlated to how healthy you are…🤔
@EroticOnion23 i sill have muscle mass, but i’m bellow my natural liimit, i don’t eat many meals a day, less protein, more sustainable; my weight ranged between 94 and 97, now it’s between 85 and 87
BMI is too outdated. Mayo clinic published a study in 2014 that showed waist size as the bigger predictor. For men, for example, keeping your waist under 37in was generally good regardless of BMI. Optimal is a BMI of 25-27.5 and a waist under 35.5in (under 27.5in for women). This is consistent with Siim’s reco but no one should be looking at BMI in isolation at this point.
A strong heart is 1000% more important than big biceps
Good video. Arnold Schwarzenegger has had about 3 heart operations.
He was also on roids.
Arnold did use large doses and has had multiple cardiac surgeries, bad example
Ye but he’s still alive
Arnold had 2 heart surgeries, no?
Ye but he’s still alive
Yes he had an underlaying condition
BUT => it was DA JAB wich puched him over 😲
BMI is also skewed by height. BMI is baselined at 5 foot 9 inches, 175 cm, with heights above and below not representing the fat percentage in the same manner. Above 5 foot 9 inches, a person appears fatter in BMI than the baseline while below 5 foot 9 inches one appears to have less fat.
💉💉😷
Muscle building? No. Tren? Yes.
If you get stabbed four times of course you’re going to die. Nuff said
