Let’s talk about the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids and what would happen if you started consuming them more often. 

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for the body, but our bodies can’t produce them. 

You can get omega-3 fatty acids by consuming a high-quality cod liver oil or fish oil supplement. I prefer cod liver oil because it has additional vitamin A and vitamin D. 

However, it’s best to get your omega-3 fatty acids from food. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids include: 
• Fatty fish 
• Sardines 
• Grass-fed beef
• Organ meats 
• Eggs 

EPA and DHA are important omega-3s. EPA mainly helps reduce inflammation. DHA primarily helps support the brain. Omega-3 fatty acids may even help people with asthma and allergies. 

Consuming more omega-3 fatty acids may potentially help with certain symptoms, including:
• Dry eyes 
• Dermatitis 
• Macular degeneration 
• Arthritis 
• Arrhythmias 
• High blood pressure 
• Leg cramps

  2. Starting fish oil 20 years ago changed my life, before then had no idea of its importance or even it existed. I am a different person having taken it every day. My nephew was going on 3 years not talking, my sister started him on fish oil and he started talking in a matter of DAYS. He turned into a kid who was prone to giving heavily long winded speeches even😅 love that kid

  3. My 8 year old daughter loves eating sardines and mackerel. Loves, broccoli. She loves eggs olives mussels. Tbh other parents look at her and say they couldn’t get their kids eating that kind of food. I think it’s how you start them off from an early age.

    • I applaud you. Most parents are completely ignorant. Hit the kids with 72 shotts give them nothing but gmos sugar dyes and chicken nuggets see what happens.

  5. My Puerto Rican grandmother used to give us cod liver oil back in the sixties , until …. She found a substitute pill ! They were called Mc Coys . Ahhh! The pills made that habit and life , a lot easier to swallow , literally😁. Thanks For all The info Doc !

  7. Majority of complaints here revolve around aftertaste. If that is your case, there may be a stomach acid concentration issues. Check the videos on Apple cider vinegar for ways to help the problem. It also helps as a appetite suppressant but more importantly it can reduce acid reflux. Hope this helps

  9. I was taking sea buckthorn oil for awhile (its expensive though 😕).

    It has all the omegas. It would be great if you could discuss sea buckthorn for those of us who dislike fish oil.

    • I agree, I hope Dr Berg considers discussing some plant-based options too. There are people who can’t consume animal products, in addition to those who don’t want to.

  10. Take note. Atlantic Caught Salmon is farmed salmon and has a higher Omega-6 content over the Omega-3, Pacific Caught Salmon is generally wild caught and has a higher Omega-3 content over the Omega-6. There is a difference and farmed salmon is not a very good alternative to Wild Caught.

  11. Yes, Dr. Berg, been taking Omega-3 & good Krill for years. That could be what’s keeping me so fit & strong to ward off infections & other health issues. So grateful! 😊

  12. My endocrinologist told me Six months ago to start taking 1000mg of omega 3 everyday and CoQ10.
    My cholesterol has no longer been a problem. No more fatty liver, either.
    Wild Alaskan Salmon is a staple in my diet, also. Perhaps once a week I have 3 sardines with mustard. We only buy grass fed beef, eggs, and free range chicken eggs per Dr Berg’s advice. Thank you, Dr Berg.

    • Dr. Berg, I started your low carb routine at the end of May this year; now, I never eat sugar, or starchy foods or bread, I still eat healthy vegetables, especially broccoli, cauliflower cabbage kale and salads. My Arrhythmia heart doctor agreed to my healthy eating plan as long as I eat enough good green carbs for my heart ❤️. I am losing weight slowly but in a steady healthy fashion with my heart arrhythmia.
      Thank you Dr Berg, at my age I thought I was too late; but no, there is always time for a healthy lifestyle. You are a blessing.

  14. I started taking Omega 3 fish oils many years ago. I am 75 and all my friends are on multiple drugs, they have had to have cataract surgery and many have macular degeneration issues. They all have numerous types of medical problems. I have often wondered if my habit of Omega 3’s is the reason that I am very healthy. My eyes actually improved a few years ago and I do not have to wear glasses while driving. I eat only organic, non processed food and always buy grass fed, free range meat.

  15. I took 1800 mg in Omega 3 tablets daily for 60 days and slashed my LDL cholesterol by 87% (it was more than double the recommended levels) 👍

  16. I’ve been taking cod oil for a couple months and my skin is clear and stretchy it’s awesome. No more dry patches on my upper arms and I had a rash on my mouth and cutting out gluten cleared that up too. I have Hashimotos and this channel has helped a lot. Thanks!

  17. I’ve been doing that for at least 6 months. (Cod Liver Oil). Huge difference for me! Skin on my whole body is improving. Not nearly as much dryness and crinkly skin. My face is more hydrated, sun spots are fading. My hair is growing back in. Dry eyes are gone. Hands are not so sore. I feel better overall. 🤗
