    • Do a search. Post quora from biochemical researcher debunks that. “It doesn’t. DMT is synthesized from L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan is turned into tryptamine, then to N-methyltryptamine, then N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT).

      The body also uses L-tryptophan to make melatonin (via serotonin and several other intermediates), but it does not use melatonin to make DMT. So DMT and melatonin basically just have the same “parent” molecule.”
