  1. You are amazing! I feel like I have zero control over my sugar addiction. I need to lose 50 lbs, it is overwhelming. Thank you for being so inspiring ❤

  2. What a mature decision you made at such a young age. You had a determination that was way beyond your years. It’s no wonder you have made such a success in your life You’re an inspiration to all of us, and the work you do in tweaking recipes to make them healthier, delicious, and lower carb is just priceless. I’m lucky in that I’ve never been really overweight, but I do have high cholesterol, which runs in my family, and I’m really trying to reach a place in my diet where I can stop taking statins.
Keep up the great work, and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year😀

  3. I relate so much to you! Most of my weight gain is from childhood and my diet was absolutely the same as you as a child. Luckily today (31 years old) I am still overweight but I was able to transform most of my fat weight into muscle weight and my diet has dramatically changed, I focus on what gut needs (polyphenols, and everything gut needs to be in optimal shape).I still have some sugar addiction but it has nothing to do with where I used to be. I feel I am making small changes every single day.
    You inspire me SO much!

  4. Your story sounds incredibly similar to mine! Sugar was my addiction. A graduation picture was my sobering moment. I cried looking at the person I saw! Now, > 60Ibs lost and over 1 year later, I’m still triggered by cake. I legit get depressed when the serving size is over and struggle with sugar for days after I eat it. Thank you bc now know I need to avoid it no matter the occasion & swap it instead. I’d never thought of it how you explained it. I thank God for your channel! Keep em coming and God bless ❤

  5. I have about 65 lbs to lose overall and down 10 so far. I am almost 45 and it is harder than it used to be but I am making a small dent in it so far. Hearing your story is great as most, were never really “obese” and just had a little weight to lose to be healthier. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I would love to see you create a step by step course to walk us all through the process of changing our diets. Just full on information on how our bodies process things, the WHY behind it, encouragement videos along the way, recipes for making comfort food healthy so we don’t feel like we’re missing out,
    etc.

  7. I changed my whole way of eating, no sugar, no soda, no junk and walked everyday for 3 months and my cravings never went away.

  8. Thank you for this reminder ! I’m struggling, I’ve been ideal weight for many years . Covid years (last 3) I’ve gained 30 pounds and I’m trying to lose 25-30 pounds and I’m trying to incorporate your meals and also fasting. But I don’t have the same metabolism and it’s so frustrating to not see results . I don’t know how to break my fast with easy healthy meals

  9. I grew up in a family where we had to eat what we took for meals. Our meals were not horrible. But I learned that I had to eat everything, no matter how bad it was for me. I’m still trying to change that thought even after weight loss surgery. It kills me when I take food and can’t finish it even though I’m in discomfort and/or about to throw up.

  10. You are not alone in your story as it is mine as well. I really feel my terrible food choices caused so much angst in my life, caused me to be hypothyroid, but finally I’m following low carb and it’s working!
I love your honesty and your willingness to share your great recipes and tips with us!

  11. Great video Mayra. Sugar and carb addiction is literally the devil. Its a hard habit to break for sure. I’ve kept 70 pounds off. But once I start on the keto treats and chips, its hard to stop those too. I don’ t deny myself anything but I keep it to a minimum as most processed foods inflame my body. My weight is now good, but I want to lose 5 more pounds and it is a struggle for sure. Have a happy New Years.

  12. Hi Myra!! I want to start of by saying, I love your content. You are one of my favorite Instagram pages. I was addicted to sugar and processed foods. I decided to make a lifestyle change 01/05/2021 to quit sugar and eat keto. I found out I have hyperthyroidism and My weight was 286. My 3 year anniversary of keto/no sugar is coming up. I’ve lost 135 pounds and kicked my sugar/processed food addiction. I’m so proud of myself. Thank you for sharing your story ❤❤❤

  13. Really good video Myra. Please share any tips and tricks on how to get back on track when you fall out of ketosis. If you measured macros or weight during your personal weight loss journey or since it’s been so long what would you do if you started today. Thanks so much ! 🙏🏽 ❤

  14. Thank you your story is inspiring. I’ve had a weight problem most of my life. I’ve listened to 60 lbs in 2016 and feeling great!!! My husband retired in 2018 and ALL my weight is back on 😢 what a struggle it is for me. I need to get motivated again!!

  15. I would love to know details on your bloodwork. I lost 30 pounds and you definitely helped me on some guidelines on better gut health choices. I am getting bloodwork done early January and would love to hear what your results are. Thank you for taking the time to discuss sugar and how you took steps toward leaving sugar! ❤

  16. I do so relate to your story!! I’m 51 yo and have been overweight for over 30 years. Hit 280lbs but didn’t feel it. Just like you I knew I was overweight but that didn’t really bothered me. I didn’t own a scale so I really didn’t know I was so heavy. Until one day I went into my son’s room and he had bought a scale for himself and I decided to weigh myself…what a shock!! 280lbs!!!! I felt something click and right there and then I decided that I needed to do something or else…that was August/23. Today, 12/27/23 I hit 230lbs so, 50lbs less and I know I still have that much to loose…but I’m not doing any crazy diets I’m just trying to reeducate myself and trying to better my relationship with food. It’s a fight! A hard one at that! But I know I can do it!!! I’m doing it!!

  17. It took me 2 years to go from 275 lbs to 188lbs. I still have 20 lbs to go. I am a sugar addict. It doesn’t go away, I had to severely reduce it. Ice cream is a trigger food for me. Everyday is one step forward. It’s a lifelong process. I’m 40 and I wish I had done this earlier in life.

  18. I was diagnosed borderline diabetic/ insulin resistant a few months ago. You and your channel have been an inspiration to me and has helped me lose 35+ pounds in just 3 short months. My goal is to lose another 40. I have reversed my high blood pressure, my bad cholesterol, and my blood sugar levels are getting back to normal again. This channel has helped me find foods i really enjoy that i can actually eat, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
