This food is an industrial product that is heated five times, contains added chemicals, and is devoid of anything living at all. The food we’re talking about is seed oil!

Vegetable oil is one of the most commonly used seed oils and isn’t really made of vegetables at all. Seed oils are generally composed of corn, cottonseed, canola, or soy oil.

Vegetable oil is an unsaturated fatty acid, so it’s very unstable and susceptible to oxidation. Light, air, oxygen, and temperature can all cause seed oils to oxidize.

Seed oils are in so many of our foods. They’re used in cooking but also used in salad dressings, condiments, and in almost all ultra-processed foods.

Most of the information available to the public tells us that polyunsaturated fatty acids (seed oils/PUFAs) are not bad for us.

Two popular studies on PUFAs are The Finnish Mental Hospital Study and The Los Angeles Veterans Administration Study. Both of these studies have several flaws. They weren’t randomized, and there were many other variables, like participants on medications and those who smoked.

Check labels to avoid seed oil consumption. Condiments and salad dressings often contain seed oils, so opt for versions without, or you can even make your own. Use butter, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, and lard for cooking instead of seed oils.

Seed oils are too high in omega-6 fatty acids. Typically, you want a 1:1 ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. When omega-6 fatty acids are too high, it can cause inflammation and other issues.

  1. Thank you Dr. Berg! Your videos always reinforce my choice to shop the perimeter of the food market and to stay away from processed foods!

  2. I go to the doctor I have high cholesterol I only eat olive oil coconut oil and avocado oil and sesame oil sometimes. I almost never go out to eat because I know I can’t trust the food because I know they are using bad oil. thank you Dr Berg for being here You are the best I love ya!!!

    • the doctor will always say your cholesterol is high because they follow generic charts, but you know what patients that are on meds for cholesterol have in common ? Alzheimer’s.

    • Your body naturally produces cholesterol to help heal a part of the body that is damaged or inflamed. It acts like a bandage to a part of the body that is suffering. Perhaps consider that there is inflammation somewhere that the cholesterol is trying to help with bDr Berg’s advice is amazing at helping to address inflammation and intermittent fasting is a key step. I speak from experience. Take care 🤗

    • @@sergiolandz6056 oatmeal is toxic, it spikes your insuline levels like crazy. It contributes to getting fat and ultimately causes heart attack. All sugar carbs contribute to this.

  3. I only use 100 % extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil in GLASS bottles only. And moderately. Thank you Dr. Berg for all your valuable information. Whenever I question anything, your site is where I come to.

  4. More people need to hear the dangers of high seed oil consumtion. Specially since all the ”experts” say that seed oils are healthy.

    • Not disagreeing about seed oil, or trying to be difficult, but aren’t you (we) also taking this content creator to be an expert? I wonder what differentiates the experts from the “experts” in our minds.

  5. Thank you for this relevant information. I knew it was seed oils. Switching to extra virgin olive oil was the best move, home made salad dressings and vinaigrettes are far tastier, healthier and nutritious by using fresh organic and natural high quality ingredients. Your educational content and research are always highly appreciated, Dr Berg 🙏🏻🧄🥑🍋🫒

    • @@EmilyJohnson558 there are lots of poor quality ones indeed, made with leftovers rancid olives and blended with other oils but there are many good ones. Dr Berg has a video about extra virgin olive oils and how to identify it. It is said that the best ones are from Spain and Italy. We have to do our own research depending on where we are. Take care 🫒

    • There is more profit made in fake adulterated olive oil than selling cocaine.
I haven’t had any 100% first co-press organic olive oil in years. I just can’t afford it. Grass fed butter or bacon or animal fat.
Of course this means you can’t trust eating out.

  6. Sharing Dr Berg notes on this potential live saving episode!

    Thank you Dr Berg!😺👍

  7. The problem with olive oil from Europe is organized crime. They control much of the exported European olive oil. They have been caught repeatedly flavoring soy bean oil and selling it as Olive Oil. It is very difficult to tell which is real or not.

    • Look for where it is pressed. Date of pressing. Best before date. Then finally put some in the fridge. I discovered this making salad dressings.
They go hard with real olive oil. You half to bring it out and let it hit room temperature before you can pour it.
I was also advised to buy from a reliable store that specializes in just olive oil. Sure it is great advice. But driving 3 hours to a city I don’t know my way around seems impractical. But if you live near such a place, it is an option.

  8. Thank you Dr. Berg for the very valuable information. It is so important to know this information to stay more health. I am so grateful for your content.🙏🏼Keep on supporting/ sharing with us your knowledge.

  9. The 2 ingredients in almost every processed foods are sugar and seed oils. The food industry is friends with the Pharmaceutical industry so they help each other out. So nice to see great team work and demonstration of love. 😂

  10. Used to have high cholesterol levels. Over 250 mg/dl. Now my cholesterol level is 184 mg/dl. I switched to olive oil and drastically reduced sugars and processed foods. Added walking for 45 minutes a day.

  11. We only cook with olive or avocado oil, but seed oils appear in practically every product on grocery shelves. Avoiding them is a major challenge.

  12. Appreciate you Doc. It doesn’t shock me anymore on how messed up the Food industry truly is. Keep doing what you do. 🙏🏻

  13. Thank you for sharing such in-depth information Dr. Berg. You truly save and improve so many lives that we can’t thank you enough. I just wanted to ask if all the seed, nut and grain oils are bad too, especially the ones not mentioned like mustard, sesame, groundnut, almond, rice bran oils etc.

  14. Dear Dr. Berg, I feel blessed Whenever I hear your logical, data-driven info with clear guidelines!

Deepest respect for your countless efforts to open our eyes and logical process to regain our most valuable asset, health.

May you shine more with more success and happiness with a meaningful life!

  15. Thank you, Dr. Berg. Your information actually made it to the conversation at my family dinner table, with friends, and the grocery store trips. My comments to my wife and children are usually, “What did Dr. Berg say?” We stopped buying cheap oils and now use healthy oils. I will never be the same because of you. I feel great and my blood work is evidence. Blessings to you and your family.

  16. Best uses I found for seed oils is gardening tools, bicycles and chainsaw bar oil or most low speed mechanisms. Another item worth mentioning is nature produces such seeds only in the fall so animals can get fat for winter, we made it possible to have it year round so basically we create a perpetual metabolic winter

  17. Thank you so much for making people aware! This is probably the stuff that had me in the Hospital 11 years ago getting a stent in my right coronary artery. I cook most things in butter or olive oil now and quit using seed oils years ago!
