10 responses to “Don’t Take Vitamin D Before Watching This”
This is rather incomplete and potentially misleading. Note the relatively recent study giving 50 000 IU daily for 6 months without any measured calcium level abnormalities. The hypercalcemia concern relates to very extreme doses or people with severe deficiencies in K2. Not differentiating these things may scare people who already underdose vitamin D (e.g. due to the outdated RDA) into even lower doses.
I see you took my suggestion. Health is tough to balance the info. Good you say the warning now people will need to research how much D and k2 balance. The RDA is on the low level and not optimal. Even to get sun may cause issues which one would need K2.. i was making a chart show show it all but too much life distractions and its hard to focus. LOL
You should have added; vitamin K is fat soluble, so has to be taken with some form of fat to activate it.
I think it would be enough to take D3 with K2 two to three times weekly. Taking it every day is probably unnecessary and waste your money.
Depends how much D3 you take on those days
Vitamin D is fat soluble so you should take it with some fats I usually take mine with omega-3 or fish. For better absorption. Or you can buy vitamin D with oil in the capsule
Great info thanks
What is the best form and what company please thank you.
I like LEF products and there are others. Some companies have inferior secondary ingredients, YMMV per your judgement.
I’ve never had my 25 OH vitamin D levels checked as I figured the sufficiency level was not the optimal level. Instead, I watched my serum calcium level remain mid range for two decades. Note: I was an early proponent of taking both D3 and K2 together starting ~20 years ago. A good magnesium supplement is a wise choice and the oxide form is a wrong choice. I’ve been experimenting with boron and I suspect 10 milligrams is a good starting point.
I eat very old gouda cheese for K2. Great taste, but kinda addicting. Probably also way to much salt and fat. Not to mention expensive.
