Dr Paul Mason obtained his medical degree with honours from the University of Sydney, and also holds degrees in Physiotherapy and Occupational Health. He is a Specialist Sports Medicine and Exercise Physician.
Dr Mason developed an interest in low carbohydrate diets in 2011. Since then he has spent hundreds of hours reading and analysing the scientific literature. For a number of years Dr. Mason has been applying this knowledge in treating metabolic and arthritis patients who have achieved dramatic and sustained weight loss and reductions in joint pain.
Dr. Mason is also the Chief Medical Officer of Defeat Diabetes, Australia's first evidence-based and doctor-led program that focuses on the wide range of health benefits of a low carb lifestyle, particularly for those wanting to send into remission pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and other metabolic illnesses.

Always look forward to Low carb down under videos!! So educational!!
Always awesome hearing Paul Mason.
I’ve tried to get my Medical Dechnician to watch some of Dr. Mason’s videos, but she has no interest. Most Dechnicians in the US appear to not care about anything but their fat paychecks. TY Dr. Mason – wish we had a few like you in my neck of the woods. Oh, and you, remain, as always, easy on the eyes.
Excellent presentation.
This guy is a legend. So clear and concise.
watching this while eating 1kg of ground beef and salmon 🗿
Spread the word.
(!Vegetable oils worse than smoking!)
Paul Mason is by far one of my favorite doctors!
I’m starting to finally go to school and study medicine to hopefully become a physician one day. Dr Paul Mason is the doctor who taught me that theres so much to learn and theres so many people i can help save without shoving pills down their mouth.
His unique method of delivery is superb. Sadly, many no longer have the attention span to appreciate it.
Love love love Dr. Paul Mason
Always learn a lot from him!!
Dr Mason is a rock star of the medical profession
Common story. I’m a retired RN and my neighbour asked what he could do for ankle oedema (i.e. some sort pressure bandage). Told me the drugs he was on. I was able to send him the info on adverse effects of his antihypertensives. He went back to the doctor and, I presume, had the prescription changed. The GP had no idea until he took in the printouts of the studies.
Stay away from doctors folks! Get metabolically healthy through a low carb diet, and simply use the docs to get an annual blood test, including lipid panel, B12, Iron, HBA1C, and most importantly, fasting insulin. They don’t like it, but you are in charge of your health, not them. Oh, and make sure you get a print out of your lab results, so you can research and track your progress. Again, they don’t like it, but if they refuse, just say you will invole the Freedom of Information Bill. They’ll print it out for you, quick smart.
Always a joy to learn from Dr Paul Mason! Thanks again, this channel delivers amazing content. My doc won’t watch… she’d be fired by our BC gov… But for me, this content gives me ammo for all the advocating I do or my own health, and it makes it easy to say no to another regular cholesterol blood test. I asked for the SD lipid test… doc has no clue… 😢 Now 8nto the kitch🎉 for my keto meal prep 😋
It shows you that the most dangerous drug pushers cannot be found on the streets but in doctor’s offices.
Every talk keeps me motivated to stay on Low Carb.Thank you to all the Health Professionals who are activists in this great cause
Thank you Dr Paul – you have confirmed, again, things I have been reading about for quite awhile. Im 60yrs old, dont go to the doctor, dont take medications and do a Keto diet (lost 20kgs) and feel better than I did 20 yrs ago !!!
Dr. Paul Mason deserves a Nobel Prize. Thanks Doc.
Dr. Paul Mason is the doctor and researcher I respect the most
What a pity that most people will wait until the “diagnosis” before (if ever) walk down this road. Good on you Dr Mason👍
