Recent news reports have claimed that intermittent fasting can lead to cardiovascular death. What’s the truth?
DATA:
0:00 Introduction: Does fasting cause cardiovascular problems?
1:09 Poor data on intermittent fasting
2:36 Peer-reviewed studies supporting intermittent fasting
4:26 Fasting does not increase cardiovascular risk
Today, we’re going to talk about some of the recent news headlines claiming that fasting can wreak havoc on your cardiovascular system. This information was taken from an abstract (short summary) of an observational study sponsored by the American Heart Association.
The study was based on a 24-hour dietary recall, where participants had to recall everything they ate over a period of time. The author has also conducted observational studies that directly opposed red meat, eggs, and cholesterol.
Credible, peer-reviewed studies have shown numerous benefits of intermittent fasting and show that intermittent fasting actually supports cardiovascular health.
1. A single-blind randomized study examined the long-term effects of time-restricted eating with resistance training over 12 months. Participants saw a significant decrease in body mass, fat mass, and inflammation.
They experienced increased insulin sensitivity and a more balanced lipid profile without adverse effects. Intermittent fasting was deemed safe and effective for improving cardiovascular function.
2. A non-randomized controlled clinical trial for time-restricted feeding and its effect on body composition and cardiovascular risk found that 18 hours of fasting significantly decreased waist circumference and cardiovascular risk.
3. A systematic review of intermittent fasting with cardiometabolic risk factors looked at four randomized controlled trials. The results demonstrated that intermittent fasting significantly reduced body weight, waist circumference, body mass, fat mass, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting insulin levels.
4. One study evaluated a 16-hour fasting eating pattern with an 8-hour eating window on breast cancer survivors for 8 weeks. Results demonstrated a significant decrease in cardiovascular risk.

The news double your risk of heart attack
True
💯
You know it!!😂
Isn’t that the truth 👍🏼
😂😂😂👍🏻💯
Summary: FASTING GOOD 😇 NEWS BAD 😈
Shocking
👍🏼
this news is garbage !..they want US sick
Yesss!
THE NEWS DOUBLES YOUR RISK FOR HEALTH ISSUES DUE TO STRESS
It’s better to switch, sometimes fast sometimes not, like one day fast, one day not, or 2 day fast per week
If mass media news say something like that , we have to do the opposite 😂
🎯🎯🎯 same thought 💭 😂
At this point it’s always do the opposite lol.
George Costanza did the opposite. It worked out well for him
Exactly mate…..!
And unfortunately, that applies to most other things they say as well. The manipulations have damaged our society for far too long. I’m glad many Dr’s and other professionals are willing to put their careers in line to inform others with alternatives. Thank you!
In other words, keep fasting. It’s starting to effect their pockets
I wondered about that point, I feel the greater factor is that if the masses are keep feeding on low grade foods they will never be able to escape the mental fog that is preventing critical thinking, keep the population stupid.
amen
So Globalist do not want healthy people because agenda of globe depopulation is not possible with healthy people
You have just nailed it. We are guinea pigs for medics: they use us as assets.
BINGO
I don’t care what they say. My facts speak for themselves! 10kg lost, blood sugar lowered, cholesterol lowered, heart health improved and have a perfectly healthy liver when last year I had fatty liver. My doctor thinks it’s the meds, which I haven’t been taking. All down to IF. Thanks Dr Berg!
Why do people like you feel the need to lie lol 😂
@@iDTecKtnot a lie. I don’t have those issues but intermittent fasting helped me lose 30lbs.
😂😂😂❤
@@CaliDracoAnd fat kills
I’ve lost 45 pounds on it . A1C, BP within normal range. I tried everything the doctors suggested , pills, cut carbs , never worked.
I’ve been fasting for almost 2 months, and lost 13 pounds, my blood pressure is normal normal, and i was able to lower my glucose. I’m winning 🎉
which fast are you doing? 16/8… OMAD…. 24 hour?
@@FoodieVacations I’ve been intermittent fasting for over 2 years now – 16/8 – with only sporadic walking in the spring/summer months, and have lost about 40 lbs, lower blood pressure, an increase in that “inner glow” that people actually see and tell me about – LOL- , look and feel better than ever. The paid-off AHA can go flog themselves!
Fasting is the BIGGEST enemy of the Pharmaceutical industry.
Also for Food industries
HEALTH is their biggest enemy
YES YES!!!
yeah 😂😂
yep@@BainsPummy ….breakfast food manufacturers especially have taken a hit
As a Muslim I have never heard of anyone dying from a heart attack during Ramadan.
yes, this is a sarcastic title though, fasting is really good for you when did correctly :)) this video is also supporting that topic.
Exactly! I was just thinking this too!
Never !!
Because they don’t 😂
Right, but, many people die every year because of ramdamdam.
Big pharma board meeting, “People are getting healthy by simply not eating frequently! How do we fix this?”, “Let’s put out a “study” that tells them to eat more often or die!”
It came out in the local news too. Thank you so much for debunking the misinformation.
That’s the truth
And this propaganda doesn’t only appear in the US. The world is very much bigger than the US alone.
Not the first time they do this. And they don’t even have to lie they just make a lousy study.
Well said
If they practice intermittent fasting, they wont need our wonderful ozempic… And we can’t have that.
I still hear “Fasting will put your body in a starvation mode, and when you eat again it will store it all as fat.” Strange that fasting made me leaner than ever.
Me too ❤
It will take years to undo peoples ignorance of fasting. They’ve been brainwashed to think you need to be shoveling food down your throat 24/7 or you’ll die. Thank God it’s starting to catch on.
Exactly
How many hours did you allow yourself to eat?
@@sstills951I personally, do a 6 to 8 hour eating window. Works for me, lost 60 pounds doing this & OMAD 😊❤
I heard this on the radio the other day and laughed hysterically, I have 3 family members who have lost lots of weight and feel amazing. I also lost a lot of weight and feel better.
I just read this in an article online the other day, and I did the same thing, laughed hysterically! LOL
Laughed & then had a heart attack!
I didn’t believe that from the beginning … I been intermittent fasting for years and my Dr. checks my Heart every 3 months … No problems here ❤🎉🎉🎉
I love the fact that what I came here to say, had already been said multiple times! Love seeing people waking up against the elitist owned media, corporations, government, etc.
I recently went to the cancer wing of a major hospital and I was completely blown away by how busy they were. It was standing room only. An entire wing of a hospital dedicated to just cancer. It made me realize just how profitable cancer and cardiology is to hospitals and big pharma. If we took better care of ourselves through nutrition and exercise an entire industry would collapse.
Right, but whose fault is that? They might be benefitting from our bad choices, but they’re not the ones making them.
@@Charliehund100I agree eating healthy or unhealthy is completely a choice. But when they’re spraying crops and making it harder to get organic food. It does make it harder than it needs to be. Also some people are blind to the unhealthy things until they realize which took me about 18 years to do it could’ve been prevented earlier on if they taught us real eastern health as kids.
yeah but even healthy people get cancer, sometimes life just fucks you up
I bet they were dishing out cakes, sugary drinks and other carcinogenic stodge!
Google the Schar Cancer Institute in Fairfax VA & prepare to be more blown away. Scroll down to all the specific cancers they treat.
Started Intermittent fasting, I’m over 60, no drugs, not that much exercise lite walking, lost 20 lbs, no depression gone, brain fog gone, thanks Dr.Berg feel 1000% better for the last 4 years. . .
At your age what do you drink the whole day to keep up with energy and nutrition?
There’s so many holes you can poke in that study.
I do 20 hours of fasting. I’ve never felt better. I’m off all my high blood pressure medicines and my staten.
I’ve lost 40 lbs now. My doctor has never been more happy for me and impressed with my blood work.
Fasting between 16:8 and OMAD for the last 3 months with a mostly high protein diet with veggies and only healthy carbs in moderate amounts. Blood pressure down, energy up, mental clarity, and almost 30 pounds lost. Looking to lose another 40 to hit my target weight. Thank you Dr. for all the info you have provided and shining a light on what is really going with Food Companies, Main Stream Media, etc. For those who say it is impossible to do weight loss the natural way, it is possible. It can be done!!!!
Keep up the phenomenal work!
@@mmmd3429 At the same time, it’s both the easiest thing in the world and the hardest thing in the world Lol because all it really is just a numbers game (calories in/out) and what you put into your body. The toughest part is not giving into temptations and old habits. Fasting, while hard at first, suppresses those nasty appetites in the long run and you can feel your body repairing itself.
@@olivergruna7762 That’s pretty much what it comes down to. Develop good habits and maintain the discipline when motivation is absent.
Awesome work!
I have been doing IF for about 8 years now and watched many of your great videos. Currently at 151 pounds and am sure without doing this and improving my diet and exercising more would be close to 200 pounds. And would have all sorts of health issues now! Some family members have also told me “you don’t need to fast to lose weight!” I really wish they would watch some of your videos! Please keep up your extraordinary and fantastic work!! ❤❤
I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for well over a year now, – it’s hard to overstate just how much better I feel, mentally & physically. When that autophagy kicks in, I feel like I’m operating on an entirely different level.
IM DOOMED !!!!! Ive been eating only ONE meal per day for the past 50 years. When I get the pangs of hunger, I ‘nibble’. Most of my relatives who did the same only lived to their late 90s.
Only lived to their late 90s 😂😂😂..love it !!
Wow. I actually want to start doing OMAD
