  1. The amount of work it takes to provided such high quality content, don’t fault someone for adding sponsorships. Get real

  2. Been on 12mg astaxanthin/day for a year & get regular sun for several years & have noticed I never burn, even when a bit too much, since; nOf1 but mechanistically plausible (also omega3s & lycopene from tomato sauce & spirulina/chlorella & egcg green tea & berries & cocoa flavanols). The part about b12 deficiency most likely for carnivores vs least vegans was shocking tho, dang! Thanks great video keep them coming!

  3. Cool little factoid I learned about Astaxanthin a long time ago was it the reason certain flamingos are pigmented pink.

  4. I first tried 1x 10mg astaxanthin many years ago after months of fatigue / burnout. I had been tired no matter how much sleep I got. I took the 1x 10mg astaxanthing in the afternoon. I only slept until 3am because I woke up alert and feeling supercharged. I could not get back to sleep so I decided to walk to work (10km). I did a full day at work, no naps, no fatigue. That effect decreased over time, it became more moderate. But I found that the 6mg doses are too little. 10mg was good. So I take 2x 6mg if they don’t have the 10mg. But it might depend on the freshness and quality too.

  5. I would be careful with B vitamins. There are also studies that show that B vitamins can increase the risk of cancer. I would therefore not take large amounts. Furthermore, omega 3 supplements didn’t really work in many studies. Perhaps fish would be more beneficial.

  6. I seem to recall that att least in some studies, reducing homocysteine through B vitamins, did NOT reduce CVD or mortality rates.

  7. “Your health and happiness are directly connected”
    – best health advice i have ever recieved

  8. I started a B12 + Folate + B6 a couple days ago (Jarrow Formulas). They have to be the methylated versions, B-6 in particular needs to be PHP (pryidoxal-5-phosphate) I have never felt anything from a B vitamin until I started these, and they improve energy almost immediately. I must have methylation problems, which I suspect for a variety of reasons, including depression.

  9. What do you think about high and low molecular weight. Theres study about one promoting cancer and inflammation. Which one are you going for?

  10. hey siim great stack. What do you think about astaxanthin raising cancer risk (through antioxidant mechanism)

  11. Siim — The homocysteine pathway is quite complex. See Impaired Homocysteine Metabolism and Atherothrombotic Disease, Durand, et al 2001, fig 1. If B12 doesn’t work easily, and knowing b12 ACM hazard ratios increase as B12 levels increase, then as your so young I’d suggest to work through the pathway interventions: serine+b6, folate, methyl folate, methyl b12, glycine, creatine, choline/betaine. You should also keep track of exercise and protein/methionine intake a week of so before the test.
