4:50 Best sources of zinc
Around 90% of all hypertension is essential hypertension, which means it has no known cause.
Southern states have the highest risk of hypertension and the highest risk of strokes. They also have a much higher rate of zinc-deficient soils.
Zinc deficiency can cause hypertension. Doctors are often hyper-focused on reducing sodium to lower blood pressure, and people are surprised to find their blood pressure does not go down after reducing their salt intake.
If you’re deficient in zinc, your sense of taste and smell is often inhibited. This might cause you to add more salt to your food and crave junk food. The average American indeed consumes too much sodium from junk food and not enough potassium, but zinc deficiency is also a significant issue.
ACE 2 inhibitors are the number one blood pressure medication. This type of medication depletes zinc, potentially causing more blood pressure problems. Diuretics, antibiotics, antacids, and birth control pills also deplete zinc.
Zinc is a helper mineral for making nitric oxide, a vasodilator that helps relax the blood vessels. Zinc is required for nitric oxide to work. Zinc is also necessary to make certain antioxidants, including SOD, which helps to keep inflammation at bay.
You can become deficient in zinc by consuming food grown in zinc-deficient soils or if you don’t consume shellfish and red meat. Sugar, refined carbs, whole grains, alcohol, and fructose deplete zinc. Weak stomach acid interferes with mineral absorption, which can contribute to a zinc deficiency.
Oysters and other shellfish, as well as red meat, are the best sources of zinc.

Sure!
00:00 🩺 Zinc deficiency is a significant but often overlooked cause of hypertension.
00:57 🗺 Southern states in the US, which have higher rates of hypertension and strokes, also exhibit zinc deficiency in their soils.
02:06 💊 Sodium reduction alone may not alleviate hypertension; zinc deficiency can exacerbate the problem.
03:29 🍽 Medications like ACE inhibitors and diuretics commonly used for hypertension can deplete zinc levels.
04:08 🍔 Zinc plays a crucial role in various bodily functions, including nitric oxide production, antioxidant synthesis, and leptin regulation.
04:35 🚫 Factors contributing to zinc deficiency include poor soil quality, dietary habits, and impaired absorption.
Thank you!
@@jillonajourney3346 no problem!
thx😀
Ty. First place i look for is a recapl lol
Dr. Berg missed one thing. You lose zinc through sweat. That might explain why the sunbelt states suffer this deficiency more.
You are spot on with this study.. THANK YOU for sharing!!
Glad to help!
Always remember if you take a zinc supplement that it container some copper or too much zinc will deplete copper.
🎉😂 1:52 p😢o 1:52 plo😢o
Note that this is not limited to Copper. Dr. Berg always recommends adding “ALL trace minerals” and taking them on and off when treating just one trace mineral deficiency. So for example, if you have a boron deficiency you should take extra doses of Boron x2-3 its DV + an all-encompassing Trace Mineral Complex daily for two weeks, then get off for the next two weeks, and take it again for another two weeks etc.
Got any lids for that container?!
Clearly, we don’t get enough zinc from eating only vegetables and fruit. Especially those weird looking Citrus-fruits that we can’t tell if they are real Lemons or Oranges! Another reason why I believe plants are alive and have hormonal imbalances. 🤷♂️ EAT MEAT! Thanks for helping us through another Sunday, Dr. Berg! Have a wonderful day, everyone! 👊
And I follow you!!
Look at the size of some fruits now..
Huge.
This is funny but true….stay away from those shiny fruits and veggies 😂
@@deva190 Yes, huge, and they look beautiful, but no flavor!
When people get dehydrated it’s not due to lack of water it’s due to lack of salt.
Salt has been demonized thus problems persist.
@OhWel – Yes indeed that’s why I brought some Real salt like Seltic salt or Real salt I’ll put some on my tongue and drink a half bottle of water and my pressure goes down after about 3 minutes.
Sole water for cellular hydration
Your BP goes down when you take salt? How often do you have to do that?
Good vidio. While a lot less people likely have hypotension, low blood pressure, id like to see a video on this as well. It definitely has its risks as well
I usually have to be careful about supplements that lower the blood pressure.
Even drinking lemon water.
It’s a real problem in my life.
I’ve had lower blood pressure my whole life. I wonder if there’s a link between that and low metabolism.
@@maryalicecoleman4661 I have had low blood pressure my whole life, too, but have never really been obese.
Loss of smell and taste because of Zn deficiency!!!!!! WOOOOW!
I did not know that!!
🙏Dr Berg! Thanks.
In the pandemic time those who were infected lost their smell and taste. To overcome this problem doctors suggested Zincovit tablets.
Many health boffins recommend pumpkin seeds as a source for extra zink. Also good for males with prostrate problems. Also with consuming certain nuts and flaxseed powder or oil.
Health boffins?? 🤔

Dr Berg is the Goat. Brilliant!

Zinc! NOT Doritos.
Got it.

Damn eh
😂 Please be serious
Walking a few minutes (5-15minutes) every evening, for six months, helped me to normalise my blood pressure. 🚶
and you sleep better at the same time
@@bogdang.7627 Well, not while he’s actually walking!!
By me it’s my mother in law visits it’s crystal clear 🏴☠️

Hello, Dr. Berg. Can do a video for low blood pressure? My wife has always had low blood pressure and her Doctor has always said you need more sodium. It would be great to know the reason and solution. Thank you. Love your knowledge and your kindness to help people with solutions other than pills.
Thankyou again Dr Berg! You saved my dad who was suffering from lack of blood flow to his feet after 2 vaccinations. He kept waking up every night with hot itchy & numb feet. He now boils beetroots & vitamises them. Adds honey & lemon juice. Hes as good as gold. 😁👍
Your a true blessing. 🖤
Should have took vaccinations 💉 in first place smh!
@@TheRios7018
Ceasing all vaccinations everywhere would literally send us back to the Middle Ages when it comes to death from communicable disease. Are all vaccinations good? Absolutely not. However, there are diseases that routinely disfigured people, caused serious illness, or even took life in the past that you never worry about today, and you have vaccinations to thank for it whether you personally take them or not. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
Can i give my mum a zinc supplement.. She is a hyperthyroid patient..
May I ask how he “vitamises” them? Tks!
@@TheRios7018He did take them . That was the problem .
“You’re really looking for zinc, not doritos.” well, that sent me.
I fixed my father’s hypertension using magnesium
Tell us more details please
How long did it take? I’ve been taking magnesium for a few months now for better sleep, but recently had BP hit 160, and otherwise avg 130
Hi Dr. Berg,
Thank you so much for your knowledge and inspiration. I am currently on a prolonged fast (13 day’s and counting). I feel so much healthier and clear in my head. Also lost a lot of weight, wich makes me so happy. Feeling really proud, selfconfident and intelligent .
After fasting i’m switching to the Keto diet, wich is really new to me. So excited! If i had known decades ago about this diet, i had switched a long time ago. My head is full of recipes and other plans. For example: i started to grow my own herbs and veggies. Planning to store them in winter time. And plans to grow veggies in the winter. Also switched completely to organic food, wich i order direct at local farms. So now i get a whole cow, chickens etc. Also the fish is caught in the wild. Looking forward to eat these delicious foods!!
I’m planning to give my garden a mediterranean inspiration. So i want to get a fig tree, and eat some fresh figs. I’ve noticed that the figs are a bit high in fructose but have a good dose of potassium amongst other minerals etc. So my question is: does this fruit (fresh) fit in a Keto diet?
Much love,
Miranda. (From the Netherlands)
I am so grateful for all your videos.
Thank you ❤
I started watching you a few years ago because I had hypertension and wanted to avoid medication. Following your advice of keto and intermittent fasting got rid of that and I feel much better overall. Thank you!
