In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the health benefits of chia seeds.
Omega-3s have many benefits, including supporting heart health. Salmon and sardines are among the best omega-3 sources, but what about chia seeds? It’s been said that chia seeds are a better source of omega-3s if you compare them gram for gram, but they don’t contain DHA. Chia seeds contain ALA, and only 0.5% converts into DHA.
Chia seeds have also been compared to eggs. An egg contains around 7 grams of protein, while chia seeds contain 4 grams. The protein found in eggs is the most bioavailable form of protein.
Chia seeds contain vitamin E, vitamin C, B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. Research suggests that chia seeds are cardioprotective, help lower blood pressure, benefit your brain, and can even help thin your blood.
Chia seeds contain soluble fiber, which is the most significant benefit of consuming them.
To make a healthy chia pudding:
1. Mix 2 tablespoons of chia seeds with ½ cup of milk or unsweetened almond milk.
2. Stir the mixture until the seeds swell and form a gel.
3. Add kefir, berries, Greek yogurt, coconut cream, or nuts.
The gel that forms when you mix chia seeds with liquid is an excellent food for your microbiome. Chia seeds can help with gut inflammation and constipation. They’re also very low in lectins.
Chia seed gel contains polyphenols—plant chemicals that benefit your microbes. A healthy microbiome supports your mood, energy levels, and overall health. Consume chia seeds, fermented vegetables, sauerkraut, pickles, and kimchi regularly for a healthy microbiome.

I like chia seed soaked in milk or cream, add some fruit yogurt & fruit pcs 🔥
I would use regular yogurt. Greek yogurt is just yogurt with the good whey removed.
Dear Dr. Berg, I’ve been consuming chia seeds, flaxseed, walnuts, pecans, sesame seeds, lots of leafy green greens, avocados and avocado oil , home-baked sourdough bread, but I’ve never heard you talk about, and I’ve listened to a lot of your programs, is oxalate toxicity. All these foods I mentioned are all high in oxalates! I’m 63 and have been experiencing very sudden (since 1 month) severe hip joint inflammation issues that as far as I have been able to determine are being caused by toxic, long-term accumulation of oxalates. So for the last three weeks now I have removed probably 95% of oxalate rich foods from my diet. I also have been using a near infrared heat lamp sauna for 36 minutes almost on a daily basis for the last 18 months. Unless I can heal my hips, my hiking days are over. Can you help me please? BTW, I eat a lot of my home made kimchi for my gut! Quick Note: I just found your video on oxalates. I’m already doing the dietary recommendations you mentioned except for the citrates. Thanks!
Should go see an actual doctor who can do tests and rule things out. Nobody can provide real solutions without blood work
You might be low in vitamin d. We just went through winter. I know my stores are low, and I’m feelin’ it.🥴
My mom had problems with her hips. They were wanting to do surgery. Instead she started taking collagen about 10 years ago. She avoided surgery and still goes to the gym. She’s turning 85 this month. She does take a prescription medicine called mobic as well.
Flaxseed and the oil is not good for males.
Prolonged fasting, intermittent fasting, keto or carnivore diet.
Instead of going for walks, use your arms to get some kind of cardio, but it’s not going to be much.
Probably stay off your feet as much as possible until the inflammation comes down.
And then take it easy with short walks, while still trying to do what you can with your arms.
I had Achilles Tendonitis for 1.5 years and I prayed and fasted over time.
It’s been gone for 1.5 years and I’ve lost 40 pounds.
I changed my diet and found good foods that taste good.

The attraction of chia seeds to me is the gelatinous storage of water to help hydrating the body in the desert. It keeps the water in the body longer than drinking water alone, which just passes through.

My chia seed recipe:
2T chia seeds, soaked in RO water
3/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 tsp monk fruit sweetener
1/2 t vanilla extract
Mix together
1/2 cup blueberries
Sprinkle with pecans (I use a salad topper from Costco that has pecans, dried cranberries and pepitas, because I love it)
Enjoy!

I love chia seeds. Literally addicted! Great for my blood sugar
the coconut cream chia seed pudding is absolutely delicious, all I know is I feel great when I have chia seeds. Chia seeds is just something my body really loves, thats all I need to know.. 🙂 Chia seed puddings are great also if you are just getting started with Keto I think, it really helped my wife a lot with her sweet tooth. I used to make them with nut milk but a lightbulb went off one day and did it with coconut cream, it was on the next level good.
Another use – refrigerator oatmeal. Mix the chia seeds and flax with oatmeal and your choice of milk. Chill overnight in the fridge. In the morning you can eat it in the cold or heated. I like to add a bit of maple syrup, shredded coconut and vanilla. Berries are another good addition. Whichever option you choose it makes a very quick breakfast and you get the chia gel.
Just want to say thank you for all you do. I have learned so much from you and your videos and after putting just SOME of your tips into practice it’s immediate that what you say works. Ignore the haters and keep educating people on getting healthy!!!!
