  1. You know there’s a man in the mountains of Mexico of the Tarahumara tribe at 90 years old who runs 30 miles every Sunday to pick up his mother for church then runs 30 miles back home. The Rararumi and Tarahumara run 30 to 50 miles well into the 80s and they don’t run on flat land they do these 150 mi runs through the copper canyons which are elevations from 100 ft below sea level to 11000 ft above sea level. I first learned of these people because I would run through what’s called the Grand canyon of Arizona in the United States and I met some of these people and they ran circles around me. I then read of them through a book I think was called the running people the story of the super athletes. This led to Americans having something called ultramarathons where they try to compete in 100 mile runs but nothing like what these Mexican native peoples do. Not even close to what they do. At 12 to 14 years old these kids are running 150 mile marathons and if you see them they’re telling stories and laughing and telling jokes as they run. If you see other runners, you see pain and suffering in their faces but you see these native Mexicans and they’re laughing and telling stories. It’s amazing to watch them run and just seem to be having fun as they are running.
