Did you know that the “rounding rule” allows manufacturers to hide ingredients in your food if it’s less than 500 mg per serving size? There are also over 200 different words for sugar! These misleading practices could mean you’re consuming dangerous ingredients without knowing.

Incidental additives are ingredients that have a function that’s not related to texture, flavor, or a preservative. If these ingredients are less than 5% of the finished product, they don’t have to list it on the label.

Maltodextrin is a common incidental ingredient. It’s a carbohydrate that acts more like sugar in the body and has a glycemic index of 180 compared to table sugar, which is only 74.

Hexane is one of the most dangerous ingredients in food. Its residue is often found in products containing soy protein isolates, which are commonly added to bars, veggie burgers, and plant-based products. Hexane is a chemical solvent used to extract this protein from the soybean.

The CDC classifies hexane as a neurotoxin, and the EPA considers it hazardous air pollution. However, no regulatory body measures the amount of hexane in food.

Iodine turns blue when combined with starch. Add a drop or two of iodine to a glass of water, and watch products with hidden starch turn blue or purple when you mix them in!

  1. There’s only one solution for people who want to avoid all this junk in their food:
    make everything from scratch using whole foods. It doesn’t happen overnight but I’ve been moving in this direction for years and am about 90% there. Everything tastes better since I stopped eating ultra processed foods. When I occasionally do eat something else (like when I’m eating out with friends), my whole body aches the next morning. That’s how I know, and that’s what motivates me to keep it clean.

    • Am same as you. Can no longer eat any take away or precooked take out foods. The oils, sugars etc cause inflammation throughout my body the next day

    • The reason I went 100% carnivore, just chuck roast, eggs, butter, salt and water… 10 months now and put multiple autoimmune symptoms into remission. Bonus was restarting weight training as well and surpassed personal best set 35 years ago these last two weeks. All from the premise of ‘let’s see what happens’

    • Same here. I have also noticed that I have lost a significant amount of weight since stopping most processed foods. I can eat scratch cake, pie and ice cream several times a week and no weight gain. No plastic water bottles either. Using a big berkey for water. Congress is trying to outlaw them as a pesticide. Evil fuckers.

  2. I am blessed that I grew up on my Grandmother’s farm and that she was an excellent cook. While I do occasionally eat junk I’m mainly eating things I cook from the farmer’s market here in Santa Fe. Your videos have helped a LOT and at 72 I’m very healthy and have not had doctoring since I had grade school shots. (Grandma was a Christian Science Healer) The BIG thing that changed this last 6 mo was switching to organic coffee. It changed my nails, hair, skin etc. Then 6 weeks ago when I ran out I just quit. OMG! BIG difference. It quit overwhelming my kidneys. I’m calmer and even tempered. My skin has become glowing again. I noticed that here in the SW my skin was crepey. I realize now it was the caffeine sucking up the moisture in my body and my skin is recovering and plump.

  3. Dr Berg… How can they get away with this? … They simply don’t care about the consumer. I really don’t want carcinogenic MSG or aspartame in my food and drink.

    • They get away becasue the consumer does not take any action. I run petitions and campaigns and its very hard to get the numbers or volunteers to acheive this, as long as people sit, get conned and brainwashed food companies will drastically continue to poison people

    • Bridewar’s right. Also, it is all about greed and bribery to look the other way or even help their profit-driven endeavors. Also, MSG isn’t *that* bad for you. You just don’t want a lot of it.

    • Robert F Kennedy Jr will put a stop to this if Trump is elected, he has spoken on this and what he will do; he knows how to and will end the corruption in big food.

  4. We need to get food, corporations, and pharmaceutical corporations accountable for their consistent poisoning of Americans

    • That’s why the Bible says that those that practice witchcraft will not inherit the kingdom of God, the Greek word for witchcraft is pharmakia from where we get the word pharmacy, the pharmaceuticals are not interested in helping the general public live a healthy life with proper nutrition and safe natural remedies that can heal and prevent diseases instead of just treating the problem. I know many people that are in the health care system and have to take drugs to treat the problem but their health problems don’t Improve they get worse over time, surgeries don’t help either, after one surgery, the doctor will recommend another surgery and another surgery until the patient dies. Not once they address the root of the problem. IMO seeing a doctor is something I will only do if I have a health issue and can’t figure how to treat it, I’m 64 and so far so good I’m healthy and strong just like when I was in my 30s.

  6. worked at a bakery where their motto was “Baked Fresh Daily”, and it was baked fresh daily…it just wasn’t delivered fresh daily

    • And two separate entities…. there’s no reason why the FOOD and DRUG Administrations should be together as one. Easier for corruption…make us sick with all their supposed foods so then they can have their doctors who are trained at medical schools owned by the pharmaceutical industry push their pharmaceuticals on us as well.
