I am not a vegan, I would say more of a vegetarian that has chicken and lean meat occasionally. My point is there are people who are going to criticize this guy who as you said have not lived that long and survived the way he has So I don’t quite understand why people want to force their opinion of diet on other people!! I would say eat whatever you want to eat it’s up to you And if something works for you that’s fantastic but it may not work for everybody!! I think everyone can agree to stay away from a lot of processed foods and try to eat clean no matter what your preference!! And of course exercise is vital!!

I heard many times that vegan whole food diets reversed colon cancer and are actually the best diets out there. People often put vegan diet into one small basket of foods, when in fact non-animal foods are much more diverse than animal foods.
People think longevity can be controlled, but there is no definitive proof (even though there are a lot of research that say that there is…data is easily manipulated to fit biases and bank accounts, and then passed off as “science”). For example:
Steve Jobs: vegan, died of cancer at age 56.
Willie Nelson: non-vegan (except when it comes to marijuana), still alive (as of Nov. 20, 2024) even though living an “unhealthy” lifestyle.
No one really knows the “magic” combination of factors for a long life. It may be different for each person because we all don’t have the exact same genetic makeup. What might be right for you may be wrong for another. It may not even exist because processes in and around a person’s body keeps changing (age, environment, etc.). Like it or not, we are all mortal and are going to die. There may be too many variables (known and unknown) that contribute to longevity that thinking that your diet will somehow fix everything is not practical. Do what seems to be working for you, and change what doesn’t…but there are still no guarantees (although a lot of people would like you to believe that there are).
Are you familiar with Dr Stanley Bass He died at age 102 .He did his own studies on mice as a hobby and put them on dozens or more of different diets. He was a natural hygiene doctor with over 60 years of experience in drug-free healing and fasting. Dr. Bass has studied nutrition and tested fasting on himself since the age of 19. My research shows oldest person to complete a marathon was a 92 year old woman. Notice I said complete, not run.
His diet is like the Linda Lorma Blue Zone diet. Of course without his continuous movement ie running exercise and upbeat personality he would likely not have lived to 102. Cheers to a fighter!!

You can’t say it has anything to do with diet per se – there are two many confounding variables – how much sunlight does one get, how much pure water, do they sleep on the earth in a one story building or do they exist in a high rise complex. Light, water, magnetism play huge roles in health and just looking at diet alone does not always bring these factors out. As far as Mike, moving his body everyday in an outdoors environment plays a huge role – as it would no matter what the diet. `
