  2. Yes indeed I’ve worked over the many years with patients with all these diseases.,I think this is why I’ve such an interest in health and prevention

  3. This is very true, I lost my obese smoking dad at 67 this year… Really sad and what’s worse is that he died early knowing it was his fault, can you imagine?!! It’s insane to compare what his health was to my daughter’s taekwondo master who is 72, hard as a rock and doing insanely hard workouts…. It’s such proof that lifestyle is EVERYTHING! Master q will live to 100 because of a healthy lifestyle!

  4. I have bad hypertension but I would like to not take the prescription drugs, is there something natural I could do?
Would fasting help someone who has hypertension and is overweight and probably leptin resistant? I just need a place to start.
    Thank you 😊

    • I think there is not one single thing that will wipe your hypertension. It’s a combination of factors and you can follow the general advices from these videos to reduce it. But it certainly can be reduced, as hypertension is correlated with poor cardiovascular system health.

    • It depends how high your blood pressure is. Mildly elevated Blood Pressure may not be a death sentence. Centenarians and Centenarian Offspring frequently have mildly elevated Blood Pressure. Cochrane and other studies (this is controversial) have sometimes found no benefit in lowering SBP below 140. If your blood pressure is very high, and if you can’t get your blood pressure through diet, exercise, sauna, supplement etc . .. lifestyle, you should consider pharmaceuticals that have a good track record for reducing all cause mortality . You should consult with an MD rather than getting Internet advice. Drugs are not all bad and sometimes extend life without any serious side effects.

Things that may reduce BP that are not pharmaceuticals – hibiscus (5 teabags daily) ginger, nattokinase, citrulline malate, beat juice, olive leaf extract, celery seed, cardio vascular exercise, grape seed, fasting, omega 3 oil, sauna, relaxation exercises and the list goes on. I tried all of these things and still do them.

I am someone with high BP, with an excellent diet, lots of exercise, low body fat. I have tried most natural substances. I have started to take drugs. My BP is currently at 130 /80 (which is ok but not optimal) and I am not sure if the current measurement is due to the drugs or some or all of the many other things I do.. I say that because the drugs did not reduce BP after 8 weeks. However, the drugs appear to have helped immensely with Raynaud’s, so I will probably continue to take them even if my BP continues to fall as long as it stays above 115/70.

“Treatment to lower BP is associated with a reduced risk for death and MACE if SBP is 140 mm Hg or above. If SBP is below 140 mm Hg, treatment is not associated with any benefit in primary prevention, but may reduce the risk for several cardiovascular outcomes in people with previous CHD. These results do not support lower BP goals in general, but they opt for potentially lower targets in CHD secondary prevention.”

“Multivariate analysis showed the prevalence of obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia was similar between centenarian offspring and offspring spouses, while centenarians appeared to have a lower prevalence of obesity and a higher prevalence of hypertension ”

  5. Emailed you. Im 6’4″ 190 lbs, non-smoker, non-drinker, Homesteader, Engineer…..lost my sis in 2016 to cancer, Father in 2017 to his 2nd heart attack. I’ve been playing around with my diet and I usually feel pretty good, but I haven’t been able to kick the sugar addiction. I think that is what is causing my energy levels to fluctuate, and sometimes lack of focus. Also, need to get my sleep schedule ironed out.

    • Probably and it’s likely you don’t have great genes either, considering your family history. I am the same, we can’t change those but we still have the option to make the best out of them with the best possible lifestyle. Or rather, we must do that if we don’t want early disease.

    • @Leonhart I have great genes. Speak for yourself. My family medical history has more to do with lifestyle choices made by my sister (drugs), grandfather and father (overeating), than it does my genetics. I am descendant from many survivors and can trace my family history to 1638 in the New World, and even further back to Wales. Im athletic, intelligent, tall and attractive. Sugar addiction is the ONLY vice I struggle with, and overcoming it I will do.

    • I’ve heard fasting starves the cancer cells before they grow out of control, kick the sugar addiction too since cancer cells thrive on sugar. I used to drink a fkkk ton of soda in grade school, just don’t buy sweet things when grocery shopping, remove temptations as much as possible.

    • @EroticOnion23 I live remotely, so most sugary things are a luxury….Its sugar in coffee that gets me. I don’t drink sodas. Im inching into the right direction, just need that final push. Im very active, and my body craves energy from carbs or sugar. I try replacing with fats, and that helps some, but I am always day dreaming about a donut, sugar in coffee, jam on toast….that sort of thing.

    • @Ray Cecil Thing with genes is that it’s not relevant if you look far back. Dominant bad genes may be passed on from one immediate parent, even if the other had great genes.
The other thing is that a lot of people have shitty lives and one still make it to 80-90. Like even with alcoholism and obesity. Seen those quite a lot. That’s what I call good genes.
Of course, this also means that they could have lived to 100 if their lives weren’t shitty.

  6. I suffered from all of these (except smoking)….. But that was 100 pounds ago, and I’m NEVER going back…! Keep up the great work Siim, I watch all your vids and also have your Metabolic Autophagy book (great stuff)…
