Chronic stress can affect every system in the body. Let's talk about how to lower cortisol and relieve stress.
We've been told that our environment is dangerous, which causes a lot of stress and anxiety. But, while our environment may be dangerous, it's not as dangerous as many are led to believe—and it's not healthy to keep your attention on this negativity.
It's vital to change your viewpoint on your environment and see it in a positive light, as well as filter out some of the negativity you're exposed to.
Chronic stress can potentially lead to various health issues, including:
• A weak microbiome and more pathogenic bacteria
• A poor immune system
• Inflammation
• Fertility problems
• High insulin levels
• High triglycerides and LDL and low HDL
• Poor detoxification
• Slow digestion
• Poor absorption of vitamins and minerals (including vitamin D)
• Tightened fascia
• Cognitive problems
• The activation of bad genes and suppression of good genes
Two of the best ways to deal with stress and cortisol:
1. Change the viewpoint of your environment and filter out various threats of danger
• Get space in nature
• Connect with your environment
2. Physically flush out accumulated adrenaline and cortisol
• Exercise
• Do physical work

Negative people are draining
Great video. Perfect information that everyone needs to hear in this day and age. I like to look out my window at the bird feeder for a quick destresser.
I choose try not follow mainstream and alternative media and stop seeing some friends who i feel dragging me down, i feel so much better! A day without negativity and stress is for me a amazing medicine ❤
Dr. Berg is a Rockstar! I started watching his videos for a year now and he has helped me so much!
Have currently… unavoidable stress. Started going to Muay Thai kickboxing class… this video confirmed it was a good idea and to keep going. Thank you Doctor!!!!
Thanks for the video Dr Berg. U are the best on YouTube, helping us make useful changes in our lives for free. Could you please make a video about sickle cell anemia and how to manage the disease, in terms of anti sickling foods and other things that help to keep the disease at bay.
It’s a very painful disease and there’s very little information about anti sickling foods. Your advice would be very helpful and thanks in advance.
A much needed topic.
I’m mindful of what I watch, read, musical choices, and practiced meditation. Changed my environment, grew more food, and eeeeeased away from over stressed people.
Thank you, Dr. Berg. You share THE most helpful and stellar content. Had to create a category on youtube just for your content. What an impact you made on this world. Continue to have an amazing life journey.
@Jacori Adams my mom has that attitude and none of her kids mess with her and she has no friends.
@Kim Thompson Sometimes that’s just the best way to be
@Jacori Adams maybe you’re right. She always gave that advice out and was always a negative and troubled person. Being alone for her is the best for everyone and may be the best thing for herself too.
@Kim Thompson yeah I know a lot of people that be alone and they said it’s the best thing for them because they say everytime they’re around other people , it’s always problems.
@Jacori Adams maybe it’s them lol but yeah some people are meant to be isolated. If it works for them then good.
Dr. Berg is such an amazing teacher. He breaks down everything in great detail and in a way that is easy to digest. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Dr.Berg…was hoping you would one day talk about the over-reactive immune system, how to deal with it…🙏
Vitamin D
Great advice, as always. The media is motivated to be a stress monger.
We appreciate your research and sharing your findings with us in a caring way.
High Cortisol sets us all up for the next pandemic.
We need to be aware of the dangers and find solutions for the health issues we may face

I desperately needed this.
I am PhD student in pharmaceutical science and I also have Myasthenia Gravis. Stress is taking its toll on me and triggering my symptoms. This video is a treasure to me. Thanks Dr Berg.
About the Myasthenia Graves how do you cope with and have you tried different remedies ?
I truly wish you a good health and recovery. Take care. 💖
Look into the works of Dr Dennis McKenna! And his late great brother Terence McKenna
I hear you – I did a phd and it was the single biggest mistake of my life – acadamia I’d totally negative and toxic – in the end I got out – it’s not you
Do you also suffer from NPD?
Dr. Berg should be given an award for best Dr in the world
😍 This is my new fav Dr. Berg video! Usually you hear this as a convo to “reduce stressors,” which often feels impossible and leaves you feeling stuck and frustrated. This perspective shift is SO hugely helpful! Simple, yet profound. Thank you Dr. B!
Heading out for a walk preferably for atleast thirty minutes is effective at easing tension. Whenever I’m feeling stuck I get outside and take a walk. It’s as if all my frustrations disappear, and my mind gets clear. It’s like cleaning the mind – detox walk – love it. Wonderful scientific information. Thank you Dr Berg.
Some people cannot walk because of health issues,Count your blessings everyday.
@Toni Mcdaniel True. Thank you.
@Toni Mcdaniel but if you can walk for half an hour a day, it is the perfect antidote to stress.
@B Byng It actually depends Where you Walk.I live in an overcrowded, filthy crime riddled, Sanctuary City.Walking in a Park or a lovely wooded area is far more beneficial than walking several blocks in the belly of the beast. Its like San Juan here.
This is such a needed video and perspective. Thanks Dr. B for always bringing the science ,the common sense, and overall great perspective on life and health. Much appreciated for what you do sir!
Thank you so much for this video Dr Berg! This explains such a lot for me. I have lived with chronic illness for nearly 15 years now and have also had family stress piled onto me on top of that. I know my Diabetes Type 2, hypertension & high LDL are the result of all this so now I really try to keep my stress levels down as much as possible. In fact, I have a imaginary bucket that I throw things into that I can do nothing about and which do not affect me. But I see so many ‘angry’ people around, all wound up because they have swallowed so much misinformation and embellished ‘news’ that they have read or heard online. Why live your life in such stress? It is sad.
The world is changing to better understanding of health thanks to teachers like DR Berg.
Should be taught in every grade school.
This man is a devoted researcher.
Plenty love for you Dr Berg.
You nailed it again Dr. Berg. My wife and I were having difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. I suggested to her that we turn off all of our electronics 2 maybe 3 hours before bedtime. Now both of us get to sleep faster and stay asleep until our dogs start crying to go outside in the morning. We can’t fix the world. And on that note, I don’t think the world is as broken as they say.
