Today I want to explain five things you need to know about the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Roughly 95 percent of the population has the Epstein-Barr virus. The more you know about EBV, the less you’ll be adversely affected by it.

The Epstein-Barr virus can use different strategies to go under the radar and survive in a person’s body. The virus can go dormant and become very difficult for the body to detect.

You can never get rid of EBV—you have to focus on keeping it in remission. To keep it in remission, you need to understand the strategies of the virus and how to support the immune system to keep it under control.

Important things to know about the Epstein-Barr virus:
1. You can’t get rid of it

2. It’s associated with an increased risk of certain cancers, autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia

3. It blocks key immune nutrients that your cells depend on, like vitamin D, vitamin A, and zinc

4. It modulates fever response

5. Emotional stress may trigger EBV to come out of remission

Three things to help inhibit EBV from coming out of remission:
1. Decrease your stress and exposure to triggers

2. Take cod liver oil

3. Choose one or two of these herbs:
• Elderberry
• Echinacea
• Olive leaf extract
• Andrographis
• Astragalus

  1. Hello doc. Firstly, I would like to thank you for your great service to make people understand how to live a healthy life. I really enjoy watching your videos; they’re truly very helpful.
Doc. Can you please tell me whether a baking soda and sea salt water detox once a month is good for health or not? And if not, then can you please make a video on how to detox your body in the correct way?

  2. I have learned in my older age something about stress. It is impossible to prevent stressful events from occurring, but what is vital is how we perceive them and how we respond to them. Stress events will always happen. With all the craziness that is going on now a days there are lots of things to stress about, but I am watching myself not get stressed and not worry. I know what my limits are, what I can control and what I can’t. It takes practice. When I was younger I would get so stressed that I would go ‘into outer space’ and actually took zanex it was so bad. I am grateful that I have learned to not react.

    • @Dell K  – Be gentle with yourself. We are all doing the best we know how, at any given moment. You deserve to extend yourself the utmost self-care and self-compassion. It comes down to taking one small step, one hour, one day, one breath, and one moment, at a time. The wonderful thing about life is we get the chance to try again. Be proud of yourself! 🦋👼🕯✨️🙏💙

  3. It almost killed me when I was 18. It has been 22 years and ever since I never got ill like that. And surprisingly I never get fever every time I get ill. I had Flu A 2 weeks ago, I had covid 8 months ago, and even though I was ill I didn’t have fever. And those viral infections were nothing compared to EBV. I still remember, not being able to walk, breathe, and even after I could function, for a long time I would wake up not being able to breathe. Also my white cells are always high. I have leucocytosis without being affected by any virus at the time I do my blood tests(bcs this virus never goes away). Also I am vitamin D-deficient in a country that is sunny 360 days per year. This virus is a very nasty one BUT nobody mentions it. I goes under the radar.

    • I was surprised about the fever aspect but it also rings true for me. I had EBV bad at 25 but was not diagnosed for two months in which I felt terrible, looked very ill and couldn’t eat – I realised what it wss myself and insisted to the doctor I should be tested!
I had Covid last year with no fever and realise now I never get fever, maybe a tiny raised temperature 1 or 2 degrees but not a proper fever. Also very vitamin D deficient (19). It all starts to make sense.

    • This hits close to home for me. I got this and slept through an entire summer. It was hell the next few months. would sleep an entire week and get up once to take care of myself. Just turned 18 last June and feel like I’ve mostly recovered.

    • When I can take hot steamy showers, raise my body temp, I felt great. Some water heaters limit how hot the water is, so it is impossible to raise my body temp with them.

Went to the ER a couple days ago for having a magnesium tablet stuck in my throat. (Another story, what hospital has no one qualified to remove from throat). I was there for 5 hours sitting with non ill people in the waiting room. Yesterday started to feel ill and so far a fever of 100.5 … I will take 3 hot showers today to raise my temp in hopes to kick it out. My cold remedy normally cures me within 24 hours … this time it must be the flu or the dreaded C. (I have A.I. disease and EBV)

    • @Timmy I just took my vit D (4000) and same amount of K2. I happened to also take a Multi B vits with magnesium but not normally. Dr Campbell says vit D & K but I didn’t know about magnesium too. Thanks for that.

  4. EBV is primarily spread through close personal contact, such as kissing or sharing utensils, as well as through exchange of bodily fluids, such as semen or blood. EBV can also be spread through transplantation of infected organs or blood transfusions. Once contracted, the virus can remain dormant in the body for years before reactivating and causing symptoms.

    • There’s basically no way to stop it from infecting people…. I got it just from drinking out of a water faucet years ago that we all shared at the job site working construction

    • This is untrue. All disease is lack of nutrition and high toxicity. Symptoms are the result of this. Detoxing with fasting and cutting sugar and seed oils as well as coffee enemas and heavy metal detoxes will restore health. Also stay away from vaccines of any kind and pharmaceuticals. They are pure garbage of metals and other poisons.

    • But won’t nobody tell the population that this is a bio-weapon created to shorten the life expectancy because out-of-control it creates so many diseases in the human body

  5. The thing about EBV in small pox sh0ts was that although it was suspected, it could not be identified until electron microscopy was developed enough in the early 1970s. Small Pox shOts were recommended for young Australians going north on our travels after high school and university. They were really bad for our health. A couple of years ago I had an antibody test for EBV, of course the results were positive.

  6. Im a 28 year old male, who has had EBV for a year and 3 months of almost constant sickness. A fit 4-5 day gym routine has now been changed to a life altering 0 exercise lifestyle.

It started with 1 month of tonsillitis, then chronic fatigue for a few months and the only way i bounced back from that was anti depressants- which was such a necessity for me, such a stressful sickness at this young age. It helped me recover from chronic fatigue. I only just recently stopped getting really sore muscles but im unsure if that is a help with a different low dose anti depressant my dr put me on to numb pain.
I now have constant inflammation, seen an infectious disease specialist recently and he said i do not have chronic epstein barr virus, but EBV has just caused a domino effect of sicknesses.
Intermittent fasting and extreme reduction in carbs or none at all make the inflammation manageable.

  7. Dr. Berg thank you for sharing this incredible video with the world. We appreciate your knowledge and expertise. Blessings always ✝️❤

  8. I had a low grade fever for about a year, before I came down with RA. Wish the doctors would have had some snap and told me some of this.
    Dr Berg is always 🎯

  9. Anthony William has developed a holistic protocol to eradicate EBV from the body. Research the Medical Medium he is one of very few practitioners that identified the EBV connection to autoimmune disorders & cancers over a decade ago. Thanks for surfacing this information once again!

    • Yes, I have 2 of Anthony William’s books. One of them is Thyroid Healing, as I suffer from hypothyroid. I have used his protocol but I believe my reduction of levothyroxin was to do with fasting for 72 hours and I am on intermittent fasting.

    • Love Anthony William. Only discovered him a few months ago, just reading one of his books now, very interesting.

  10. Wow!! Now all makes sense. I had Eipstein Barr virus. No idea it stays in the body. I was diagnosed with CFS, fibromyalgia, tinnitus, you name it and I was trying to figure out how I got these ailments. And here it is. Thank you Dr. Berg

  11. Your videos are proof that doctors still exist. I mean doctors and not medicine sellers. Could not thank you enough for your work sir!

  12. Dr. Berg, I have a relative with EBV and HPV. She started taking monolaurin pellets and started to feel normal again and no outbreaks. This was 4 years ago. She’s on a maintenance dose now. Please do a deep dive on monolaurin pellets when you have the time. Thanks for all you do!

  13. I had mononucleosis in my early 20s. Ever since then my body has never been the same. And when I hit 37, I started having totally unexplainable, whole body symptoms. Lots of neurological symptoms, eye problems, physical pain, and anxiety. I’ve had many tests over the course of three years, but nothing shows up. I’ve always thought it had something to do with EBV, but still no proof.

  14. Was diagnosed with Mono on my 18th birthday. Back then, docs put you to bed for six weeks, but my wise pediatrician (he was doing adolescent medicine before it was cool) told me to keep going to school, to my after-school job, just no PE and lots of rest. It wasn’t fun, but I was nearly normal in four weeks and didn’t miss any school. I’ll keep doing everything I can to build up my immunity with this information from Dr. Berg!

    • My daughter was diagnosed with MONO when she was 17 she was so sick that she couldn’t get out of bed or stand up so how did you go to school, work etc?? I think you were misdiagnosed then my brother who is very healthy was diagnosed with MONO twice in his early 20s and he was so sick that he couldn’t get out of bed or stand up either and I’ve talked to other people who had MONO and they had the same symptoms also everyone’s Dr told them that bedrest is most important to heal the body

  15. A friend had stroke symptoms and was sent to our local hospital ER. After 2-days, they sent him home saying that there was nothing they could do for him. Someone told his wife to take him to Doctor X, DC immediately. The doctor tested him for EBV, the test was positive and was affecting his brain. He was treated with UV light therapy and after a few sessions, the symptoms began to disappear. After a few months, he was able to drive and return to work. The only lingering problem is some short-term memory loss. BTW, the same hospital misdiagnosed my wife’s sepsis, and sent her home too. Fortunately, we have a good hospital 50-miles away that saved her life.

  16. All of this is really making sense. I had mono in my late 20’s, followed by a thyroid problem. I’ve had years of chronic fatigue that come and go. I’ve also had years in which I felt really great. I rarely get ill otherwise though. What’s so frustrating and disheartening though was all the times I would go to a doctor and be treated as if I was mental. Found out a few years ago my vitamin D levels were extremely low. It’s been difficult to deal with. Every time I think I’m better, then I’m not again.

  17. My husband died of Burkitt Lymphoma last August. He didn’t have AIDS and we had not known a time that he had EBV, but I realize a person may not know that they have had the EBV virus. I can’t help but wonder if the more recent virus and even the shot might have had something to do with the sudden activation of this cancer. Now I see they may have worked together. Needless to say, the last six months have been the most stressful of my life by far. I’ve watched all your videos about stress and stress reduction. Somethings you just have to live through. It’s hard, but I’m going to survive. Thank you for all this important information.

    • I heard that some cancer doctors tell their patients not to get the sh*t because it triggers it to become aggressive. Research to help others. My sincere condolences for your loss.

  18. I’m so glad this video came out. It explains so much. I caught cold sores (HSV-1) about 10 years ago and my body has never been able to put them into latency. I noticed a lot of strange things happening to me. It reactivated every other herpesvirus I had in latency, including chickenpox and EBV. I suddenly was intolerant of a lot of foods that supposedly boost the immune system. I now get gastrically or allergically ill when I try to supplement with the exact herbs, foods, and vitamins to help fight herpesviruses but never did before, so I assume that the virus must have tweaked my immune system in some way. Doctors also consistently miss infections in my body because I very rarely ever run a fever. All of these things changed after infection. I’ve now been diagnosed with an immunodeficiency because my NK and B cells do not function correctly. I’ve been to the top medical facilities in the US and nobody has ever seen anything like this and nobody knows what to do, so now I’m trying to handle it with lifestyle and dietary changes. This is how damaging these viruses can be.
