Today I’m going to share an inexpensive and effective natural remedy for inflammation in the digestive tract.

This remedy can be used for conditions such as:
• Gastritis
• Irritation in the esophagus
• Ulcers
• Hernias
• Diverticulitis
• Crohn’s disease

Antibiotics are a common treatment for digestive problems. But, antibiotics can have side effects.

We’re going to look at a natural alternative for intestinal inflammation that won’t sterilize the body or diminish and change your microbiome. This remedy will actually support your relationship with your gut microbiome.

The best natural remedy for inflammation in the digestive tract is cabbage juice. Depending on the severity of your inflammation, you may want to consume one cup to one quart or liter of cabbage juice a day. Just make sure it’s fresh raw organic cabbage juice—it can be green or red.

Cabbage, in general, seems to be the best food for people who deal with digestive issues. Cabbage has four interesting factors that can help support the digestive tract, including:
1. Vitamin U
2. Sulforaphane
3. Vitamin C
4. L-glutamine

  1. I LITERALLY need this right now. This is crazy. Haven’t slept all night because of this issue. Thank you

  2. That helps fill you up, so you eat less. It also keeps you regular, and it could help lower your “bad” (LDL) cholesterol and control your blood sugar.

  3. My wife has crohn’s, during rare flare ups using a special juicer that extracts the fibre she juices red cabbage, carrots, celery and apple. Works way better reducing inflammation than anything she’s got from the doctors.

    • @308 Dadfibre irritates the tract during Crohn’s flare ups, so it’s good to extract it, but get all the benifits from the cabbage.

    • @308 Dad You’re getting all the vitamins/ flavonoids/etc from the raw food minus the fiber. Yes, sugar but the good things offset that.

    • @Shree Curry his comment say she juice red cabbage, carrots, apples ( I suppose green apple) and celery.

    • @308 Dad natural sugar from carrots and apples. Cabbage and celery do not have significant amounts of sugar.

  4. I am allergic to all antibiotics. I just woke up with acid reflux running up my throat. You are right on time for me.

    • @Theresa Crockett NO you are not the only person in the world that gets a horrific response from any antibiotic. I am one also. The ONLY way I was given them without getting so very ill was when I had hip replacement surgery and antibiotics were given to me via IV. I was/ am NEVER able to take ANY antibiotics orally without getting seriously ill. It upsets me when doctors do NOT believe me until I start bleeding internally in the past. Now I flatly refuse ( to the annoyance of the doctors!) to take ANY antibiotics.

    • @Leslie DeFilippis Well, I guess I am not alone. When I was very sick I tried the liquid amoxicillan, and only tolerated it for a while and broke out with itchy hives and a rash all over my body. I had to stop taking it and thankfully the throat and ear infection was under control. So glad you tolerated the IV. I often thought that maybe that would be a way for me to take an antibiotic if absolutely necessary.

    • Papaya enzymes help me. And not eating heavy before bed. Walking after I eat..etc. I hope you figure it out and feel better!

    • @MissAnonima1 i stopped those it made things worst for me putting more acid in helped me so much

  5. Quero ver todos os vídeos com bastante atenção!Vi um vídeo só e já quero mudar alguns hábitos!Muito obrigada pelos vídeos💖

  6. When I was a teenager, many years ago, I can remember my dad’s friend growing his own cabbage plants, and swearing by the health benefits his homemade sauerkraut. Too bad that my dad didn’t listen to his advice, as he died of colon cancer at just 64 years old. Thanks for more awesome and practical information, Dr. Berg!

    • @308 Dad fermented sauerkraut increases gut microbiome ..Its very possible his father could’ve avoided cancer with a life long commitment to dietary and lifestyle changes

    • @Trevor Bohns Thank you. That’s what I was implying. My dad’s friend is 90 now, and still going strong.

    • @308 Dad I highly suggest you do more research on cancer then. You can fix it and prevent it. It’s all in what you want to research.

  7. Thank you Dr. Berg, I have been watching your videos and following your advice for almost two years. You have changed my life and health. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

  9. I now start my day with fresh vegetable juice after a long walk , it’s the most delicious thing and it keeps me satiated until late afternoon. Thanks Dr Beth , this one I will definitely try.

  10. Love that this is easily accessible at any grocery store and whole-food based 🥰 Great advice as always, Dr. B!

  11. Just in time Dr Berg! I had to take 3 antibiotics in January and my stomach has started to really effect my daily life. I’ve never had such issues. This is so helpful
