Today I want to share the best meal to clean out your arteries.

There is an interesting connection between your microbiome and your arteries. In mice studies, when the mice lack a healthy gut microbiome, they tend to develop a lot of inflammation. Inflammation in the arteries triggers a cascade of damaging effects. An overall imbalance of the microorganisms in the body can also lead to various problems in the arteries.

One of the most important vitamins for the arteries is vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 helps keep calcium buildup out of the arteries. The microbes in your gut have the ability to make vitamin K2, but fermented foods and fatty foods are also rich in vitamin K2.

Keep in mind that vitamin K2 works better when taken with vitamin D3. For every 100 mcg of vitamin K2, consider taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D3.

Probiotics are crucial to support healthy arteries, and your friendly microbes are your natural probiotics. It’s important to support your microbiome and avoid sterile foods like pasteurized and over-processed foods.

The best meal to clean out the arteries:
• Brie cheese
• Fatty pork sausage
• Sauerkraut

Each of these foods is fermented and loaded with vitamin K2. Give them a try, and start adding other alive and fermented foods to your diet.

  1. The best way to clean the body and everything in the body is FASTING for a long time and as often as possible.💪💪 💪.Love from Croatia ❤️❤️❤️ 🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷

  2. God bless you Dr Berg! You have taught me well. Thrilled I guessed the Vitamin and was correct. 💛 You are such a gift to humanity. Much love to you and yours. ❤

  3. Thanks Dr. Berg, really love this video, big believer in your D3/K2 vitamin, take it every morning (don’t know if that’s the best time to take it) and take one teaspoon of fermented kraut (that we make ourselves) & my digestion is like when I was a kid,,, I could eat anything and nothing bothered me. Thank you & absolutely love everything you do and teach. Now be careful on your tractor 🚜!

    • I make sauerkraut by *_bare_* hand specifically for the healthy, living bacteria that colonize it. The store bought stuff has mostly been pasteurized to the point where nothing can survive, and some might even be treated with chemical sanitizers of some sort.

  4. Vitamin D, K2 and Magnesium are probably the three most important supplements we take along with fermented foods. Another great video with cutting-edge research Dr. Berg!

  5. Dr. Berg, I have recently gone keto with amazing results.

It is truly a new lease on life, my brain feels like it has doubled in effectiveness and I can’t thank you enough for the knowledge and encouragement.

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC Thank You Dr. Eric Berg…. I will be contribuing my extensive nutritional heart healthy support with one of my personal fat soluble K-1 and K-2 recipe combination coming soon . Kindest Regards Holistic Chef Barry Anderson of Phuket Thailand .

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC can you please tell me how to be on a ketogenic diet and not lose weight? Everyone loses weight it seems and I am already small, my perfect weight actually and can’t afford to lose any. But I am intrigued and wonder if it would help with my GI issues. Thank you.

  6. I’ve noticed that it’s better to ferment your own sauerkraut (and other vegetables) rather than to buy it from the store. If you look at the labels of store bought sauerkraut, you will notice that it has also been pasteurized, which kills all the good microbes along with the bad.

  7. They even ruined pickles by replacing the brine with vinegar in order to make them shelf-stable, thereby eliminating the beneficial, natural bacteria that was feeding on the pickles. Pickles were traditionally kept in their own brine (salt and water) and kept cool in the cellar (then later refrigerated) to slow the fermentation process. They’re selling us STERILE pickles.

    • @blue M&M No, they are not. I’ve been pickling foods for decades. Pickles are traditionally made with a brine bath (salt and water) in a container at room temperature (often with a water-lock to burp the jar and allow excess pressure to escape). Once it’s sufficiently fermented, they’re capped and transferred to a cold temperature to stop (highly slow down) the fermentation process. Companies get around this by swapping-out most of the brine bath for vinegar, which neutralizes further fermentation by klllng the bacteria

    • @Joyce Nagy I do. There are a few brands that make proper pickles. I buy the “Fructose” Polish brand. No vinegar whatsoever. They’re in the refrigerated foods section of the grocery store. Just check the label.

Excellent video! Thank you so much for all your hard research that you share. Every day I have full fat keifer yogurt that I make and ferment for 36hrs. I also have a kimchi/sauerkraut mix with my 4 eggs Avocado and fatty cut of meat. My blood work is now excellent since eating this way and loosing 135lbs. Keep up the good work as you are making a difference in people’s lives.

    • Fellow Chattanoogan here. Wow!!! To see that your blood work is great now, is awesome. Is there anyway you could give me some tips & recipes for your kefir & other fermented foods? I have been battling issues left & right with my gut. Just fought H.Pylori and though I’m better now. There are days, it feels like it’s still here. Thank you so much for any help you can give. I know Chattanooga a good sized city but maybe one day, we’ll run into one another.

    • @Native Gypsea Dr William Davis yogurt on line recipe.
I use a Instapot with a yogurt setting and set temperature to 104. Then take 2qts half and half from Sams, 4tbs of Inulin powder Amazon, and 4 tbsp of full fat keifer (Lifeway, plain). Mix inulin powder in a bowl with some half and half to make a slurry and then combine all ingredients into Instapot stirring thoroughly so as there are no lumps. Remove gasket and set timer for 36hrs. It will come out thick and creamy 😋. I use stevia chocolate to sweeten. You can add wild blueberries Walmart or raspberries. Kimchi/Sauerkraut combined makes a good relish with your high fat moderate protein meal. I have been on a strick ketovior lifestyle for 4 yrs now an have kept track of my blood work every 6 months and there has been a dramatic impyove.

  9. Hi Dr. Berg, I own a pest control, we use anticoagulants in rodenticides, and the antidote for poisoning is a vitamin k2 injection.

  10. I have learned so much in this past year with your video’s. My whole health has changed. Much appreciated here 🙂

  11. Im 6’4″, 190-200lbs, 37 years old. My diet pretty much consists of bacon, sausage, eggs (I raise my own chickens), raw milk, and whatever is in season in my garden. Just did blood work for the first time. Im pretty dang healthy.

    • @inglouriousmofo I befriended a farmer…..here in KY you can purchase Dairy Shares from local homesteaders. You are basically buying a portion of their cow. Them you pay them a weekly fee for taking care of that cow. In return you get a weekly allotment of raw milk.

  12. Been eating fermented foods regularly for many years and at age 63 my arteries are as clear and clean as a five year old,I don’t eat fast food processed foods, but I do eat raw uncooked foods that are nutrient dense, food that I grow or buy that is organic.

I eat red meat eggs and so forth, but it’s organic and it’s never fried .

We are all going to die but we don’t have to be sick in body until we die, just eat right and keep your body moving and you will do well until the good Lord calls you home.

  13. Thank you always Dr. Berg!! Also heard that kimchi is great…Since I cannot do spicy, I opt for the “white kimchi”, which has a refreshing flavor.

  14. Your videos are so helpful,Dr.Berg!
Question…. I’m a female,in my early 40s. My doctor put me on blood pressure meds a couple years ago. I have a family history of early heart attacks and strokes. He told me not to take K2 when i asked about it in the past saying my heart rate is already to slow and it would slow it down to much. Any advice?
    Appreciate it!

  15. Ketovore has cleared mine in six months. I eat few veg, but eat a little sauerkraut, home made dill pickles, a little onion and garlic. Other than that it’s all meat. Mainly beef, lamb, chicken wings and thighs. NO seed oils. Almost zero carbs. Also time restricted eating. Lost from 270 down to 225, and still losing. Feel 100% better! Food allergies, psoriasis, itchy skin, reflux all gone. Osteoarthritis 75% better. No going back.

    • What about your cholesterol levels? I’ve been doing carnivore for 5 months went from 240 to 201 and my cholesterol is off the charts so my dr. recommended taking a statin to reduce it.
