Today I want to cover nine signs you’re in ketosis.
Testing your ketones when you first start the keto diet can be helpful. But, the problem with testing your ketones long-term is that once you start to burn ketones efficiently, the tests aren’t very accurate.
Thankfully, there are nine clear signs that can tell you if you're in ketosis or not.
Top signs of ketosis:
1. No keto transitioning symptoms (keto flu, keto fatigue, keto rash)
2. Weight loss (initial water weight)
3. Loose clothes around the waist
4. An increase in energy
5. A boost in cognitive function

I apparently slipped into ketosis without intending to. I quit sucrose, bread, & beer several months ago due to the GI discomfort they seemed to trigger. And I started eating more meat to ensure I was getting enough protein. I’ve lost weight, my skin has improved, I have more energy. Now I understand why my health has “spontaneously” improved lately.

Wow I really needed this video when I started Keto in April. I had to find out by experience why my weight loss was slowing down or stopping altogether. 15kg lost so far and anther 15kg to go. So hard to believe my overweight fat is/was 33.3% of my bodyweight. I gained the weight when I cured my hyperthyroidism. I’m now hypothyroid, so if I can lose kilos anyone can.

Dr Berg! I watch your videos ALL the time and follow your advise and its been amazing! Thank you! I am a 53yo man and I was 297 lbs starting my Keto journey back in Feb 2023. In July 2023 I weighted in at 233. I am, was or still a Type 2 pre diabetic with a blood sugar hanging around 103-117 after my weight loss. Well! over the 4th of July holiday, I agreed to let myself “Cheat” for the entire week while my family was here. I ate a lot, I mean ALOT of carbs during that week. I had a few pounds of weight gain, but was very excited to get back into the Keto life. PROBLEM: It seems that I’m having a problem getting back into ketosis. When I started keto, I reached Ketosis within a couple days…..its been a week and zero results on keto pee strips or my Keto Mojo blood strips. Why is this happening now? I am strictly controlling my marcos: Fats 65%, Protein 30% and carbs less then 5% of my daily intake and no Ketosis! Anyone have some insight for me. I’m doing the bullet proof coffee, black with MCT Oil, and a 18/6 intermittent fasting and still no results. DR….is it possible that a body will never get back into Ketosis again?
Check Dr Bergs library, he has done a few videos on going off keto and going back on. You may need to do a 24 or 48 hour fast to flush your system. Also, make sure your vitamins and essential minerals are up to strength, supplement if you have to, especially your D3 and K2.
