Let’s talk about the #1 food for the brain.
It’s a misconception that the brain can't regenerate—certain parts of the brain can regrow.
The top foods to avoid to support a healthy brain are:
1. Omega-6 fatty acids (soy oil, corn oil, canola oil, and cottonseed oil)
2. Sugar
3. Refined carbs
The best food to support brain health is wild-caught salmon.
Wild-caught salmon can help enhance the brain in many ways, including supporting:
• Memory
• Focus
• Thinking
• Problem-solving
• Learning
It may also be beneficial for those with mood disorders or brain inflammation. Consuming more wild-caught salmon may even help reduce insulin resistance, which is at the core of many brain problems.
The brain is the fattiest organ in the body. Omega-3 fatty acids are the healthy fats your brain needs. They’re the building blocks of your brain. Wild-caught salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
Wild-caught salmon is keto-friendly. It’s low-carb and has a good amount of protein and nutrients. But, to get these incredible benefits for the brain, be sure the salmon you choose is wild-caught and not farm-raised.
Try having your salmon with a kale salad topped with olive oil and unfortified nutritional yeast to take your brain health to the next level.

Dr Berg, you changed my life! I’m down 35 pounds… leanest I’ve been in 25 years. I will post photos and story soon. THANK YOU! 💪🏼
Wonderful! Well done!
Thank you Doc. While growing up as kids it was common knowledge that kids who eat a lot of fish turn out to be smarter. Our grandparents preached this over and over.
Yes, they use to call it brain food and they were correct!
My mom used to tell me that. I was a very picky eater and thought she was fibbing.
That’s why Japanese has better head
They eat fish more than any of us
My grandparents/family are from the Caribbean. They eat fish for lunch and dinner, the head also.
It goes same with the nuts.
IT’S so fantastic topic .Thank you so much Doctor Berg. The brain is so important, therefore we should take care our brain. ❤

Thank you Dr Berg!
Thank you Fidel! 😻
Thank you so much for your time Fidel!
He didn’t mention walnuts which are a powerful protector of the brain. Any foods that contain luteolin are particularly good. Dr. Berg is good but he misses a lot of things.
Mackerel in olive oil (EVOO preferred) has massive amount of O3.
Just be careful it’s from N Atlantic and it’s not king mackerel (top of food chain)
Did you know that arugula has more calcium and zinc than kale? It’s also nutritionally equal to kale in iron and magnesium and has fewer carbohydrates and naturally occurring sugars.
In ancient Irish folklore the salmon is referred to as “the salmon of knowledge”.
True
You just wonder how they knew back then, but they DID.
Hazelnuts were associated also. Together, a great combination.
An old guy I met on the Boyne told me that the tale probably came about though salmon ingesting juniper berries. Once then salmon is cooked it can cause hallucinations.
Dam right the IRISH ☘️ RULE
Hello Dr Berger. Thank you for all the information you bring to your audience. 👍👍
Lol Dr Berger likes ground beef- grass fed
Did you know Dr. Berger’s first name is ‘Chese’
I like my ice Berg lettuce with an Italian vinaigrette 😂
My pleasure glad to help!
The more and more we watch Dr. Berg’s videos, the “wiser” (our brains will improve) we will become 😂😊❤
😅
Glad to know you found the video helpful!
We should probably stop poisoning all of the fish so we can actually eat them 💡
So true. The oceans are the world’s sewers. Poisoning a huge source of some of the best nutrient rich foods!
🎯🎯🎯
Farmed fish are like eating mud
Thank you so much Doctor Berg for your so important topic❤
Most welcome!
Wild caught salmon with kale and EVOO is on my menu tonight! Thanks so much Dr.Berg. You really take such good care of us! ❤
Try with my dog too
unfortunately for some of us wild caught salmon is a rarity of rarities… maybe time to move away
Amazing. Enjoy there!
@Dr. Eric Berg DC could you make a video about the accumulation of oxalates in breast tissue. Breast cancer tumours have high concentration of oxalates.
Dr. Berg, thank you for making your videos so easy to grasp, the video description has the important points, and not riddled with ads. 🙏🏼 Nurse Amanda

Hi Dr Berg I started to take iodine and salmon from last year and I see significant improvement in my logical thinking and I also gave my son Iodine since he was born and he is quite smart though he is autistic and he is now 2 years old kudos to you keep up the good work for the whole humanity 👍
Wow, congrats on your continued success. I love salmon but tend to turn to sardines for good oil avoiding the higher mercury levels of bigger fish.
Love Dr Bergs videos, clear and concise
Such accurate and good information by Dr. Eric clearly the best channel on youtube for health and fitness. Big pharma dont want us to see this.
Hey Dr. Berg!! I love your content. I had an anoxic brain injury about a year and a half ago, and my memory is not what it used to be. What would you recommend to at least help me try to get back to my pre injury self? I’m only 27 years old and I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better, but obviously not what I used to be.
Big greetings from Norway 🇳🇴 You are incredibly inspiring Dr Berg. We have some of the world’s healthiest salmon, and the health benefits are incredible.
Sadly it seems all of your salmon is farm raised, far from healthy. I often wonder why your government allows it. In America we refuse to buy Norwegian salmon if we are looking for healthy salmon.
Gosh couldn’t wait to hear this video after dinner. Wow I just had all that he spoke of for dinner. On keto …. down 17 lbs since June 30th. On my way! Thank you Dr Berg. 😊
