  2. I’ve been taking collagen vital proteins brand for about 5 months straight everyday. One thing for sure is my nails grow 2x as fast and my blood pressure is really good. Skin also has improved

    • Is that the brand that I see at Whole foods ? Is there anything in particular I should look for when reading the bottle ?

  3. is it better to have Collagen Peptides with juice, and does mixing it in with porridge make it less bioavailable?

  4. Have you read the study where participants were given hyaluronic acid supplements and after 28 days saw a 20% reduction in wrinkle depth?

  5. I wonder whether one should just take collagen, or a combination of collagen AND Hyaluronic Acid

  6. It should greatly help bone health also as 90% of bone proteins are collagens. Bones are 30-40% protein. I wonder if collagen supplements could reverse osteoporosis.

  7. I’ve been eating a teaspoon of gelatin powder (dissolved in warm water and chilled to form a hard piece of jelly) every day for a while and I’ve noticed that my nails are harder at least.

In my opinion, the point of taking collagen isn’t to see obvious improvements from existing physical conditions, but to prevent additional deterioration from aging that could otherwise be avoided. The problem is that people take it for 2 to 4 weeks and expected “reverse aging” then stop taking it when it doesn’t happen. Instead they should focus on two aspects if considering collagen supplementation. First, it doesn’t have any known negative side effects, so price is the only “cost” of taking it. Second, although it is possible that it doesn’t REVERSE skin aging, it is possible that it can IMPROVE the aging process from the point you start taking onwards.

  9. Are there any long term studies on collagen (longer than 12 weeks?) The turnover rate for skin cells is about 12 weeks, so it makes sense that would be the study length, but it also makes me think the benefits of collagen on skin health max out after 12 weeks. Would be interesting to see longer studies to see if skin continues to improve after 12 weeks.

  10. Bryan Johnson takes 20 grams of collagen , hyaluronic acid and utilizes other supplements and treatments. When I look at his pictures without filters, he looks maybe a little bit better than average for his age. Nothing miraculous.

  11. Dry fasting firms & lifts the skin. Used to give my food away but the homeless littered it all over my street. Now I use that extra money to buy inexpensive skin care products such as the Ordinary etc. If we eat keto refeeds which are meat heavy do we really need collagen supps? Thx Siim.
