I’m currently taking 5g of Glycine and 300mg of NAC (on the days I don’t work out). Reaching 5g of NAC daily is hard as it comes in capsules of 300mg
Not if you buy the powder
Get the powder. NAC when paired with glycine mixes incredibly well in just a little cup of water.
Check for NAC powder!
I find out that NAC powder I use has a negative influence on the mood. So having a very negative attitude after taken NAC. I take it in the evening, and the day after I do not feel like anything makes sense. “What is the point of doing anything?”kind of thoughts. And that day is wasted. When i stop taking NAC I go back to the normal motivated state. It might depend on the dose, but I usually took less than a halve teespoon. So NAC maybe not for everyone? I think mine was less than 1 gram and already gave problems. Might it be that I must just take more and try for a longer period?
I only take NAC on my rest days, as there’s a worry that it might hinder the positive changes exercise brings about, like boosting mitochondrial growth and enhancing the body’s natural defenses against oxidation
Depending on how old you are, you might not need NAC at all.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the pain of a hangover is mostly the condition of having zero glutathione after drinking. We don’t want to become that way permanently, so we should ensure glutathione with glynac.
Hangover is almost entirely due to dehydration
@NutAre you saying I’ve either never been dehydrated or hungover? If not, don’t you think Id know the difference? Have you ever skipped sleep and felt the same hangover? I have. It’s not dehydration. Water does nothing to a good hangover. Try glynac next time, or don’t drink.
So how much nac can we take before it reduces muscle gains? I’ve been cycling just to not take 600mg before workouts. Maybe this amount is fine but when can we take 10x that amount? I really want to know how you take nac, Siim.
Also dosing. How much can we expect to get of these naturally based on age and diet? For me 98mg/kg/d is 16 caps of 600mg NAC every day, or a bottle every 2 weeks. Not impossible but that’s a lot, and I would need to do some serious research before committing to something excessive like that.
Damn. That my explain my weakness since taking NAC.
GlyNAC restores glutathione in older people to normal levels. This should not inhibit muscle growth. Since I started taking it (about 2.4g NAC and 10g glycine per day), I have actually put on considerable strength and muscle mass. I am 58 years old.
@Joe Bartles yes, thanks so much. I’m planning to ramp up my nac and monitor my gains. I was gaining slowly with daily nac before. Siim said something about this so I started cycling. Indeed, i feel the pain more so maybe there’s something to this cycling idea. But, I didn’t gain any faster while cycling the last few months.
I found a NAC powder and a Glycine powder in Sweden.
Have a spoon of each (5-7g) in my daily 0% fat greek yoghurt (where I also add collagen and creatine).
Using tablets, it becomes more like a hassle, especially because Glycine taste nice and sweet. NAC smells and taste kinda bad, but easily hidden with berries and a bit of chocolate.
1g of NAC per day is more than enough
I wouldn’t let NAC touch any food I eat🤢
That’s much to high an amount of NAC. Also, you should take GlyNAC on an empty stomach and not with other proteins such as collagen. This decreases absorption.
I want powder. Doesn’t that amount taste aweful though? I try to pound it separately to go down faster.
What is your take on AG1 that is going around on YouTube and the internet?
What supplements would you recommend for someone recovering from tbi and suffering from hormonal deficit?
🙏😎🏆
Question to Sim:
Another YouTuber, Dr. Ekberg, claims that taking cinnamon and apple cider is a bad idea. His assertion is that, in the long run, cells start to become distrustful if one regularly disguises their food with apple cider or cinnamon.
What is your stance on this?
I’ve taken the recommended 500 mg of NAC, which is already pretty expensive, but you say I have to take up to 8000mg+??? (I’m 95 kg). Even if it was more than purely hypothetical it’s not an option unless you’re rich (especially together with the other multitude of supplements one might want to take.) Doesn’t seem a “low” dose is useful either if the benefits starts from 4000+. The economic stress alone from all these supplements is probably outdoing their benefits or am I missing something?
💯
Is Glutathione injection beneficial.
Can you pls do a video
I care for my 92yr old grandfather who has multiple health problems and those problems are reversing. Just got his kidney function test back and his doctor was astounded that his GFR is going UP. Not only that every other health marker is improving. We’re using more than just GLYNAC but since discovering it and starting in August the results are so far astounding.
😊❤
That’s good news! Which brand of glynac do you use?
I LOVE IT!!!
What other things is your father taking and doing to be healthier? Anything else that could be a large contributing factor?
So the only way to be healthy at an older age is to spend a lot of money on supplements? Damn food is getting so expensive too! Life is expensive no joke I think I’m going to have to go plant-based because meat is for the rich
Following your recommendations I take glynac and the feel good to date at the age off 76
what’s your weight and dose of both?
Siim, all your videos mentioning NAC and TMG are very informative, but you never mention the protocol you follow for consumption. I know you don’t take them on days you work out, but is it before bed? In the morning? Only with a meal? Only while fasted? This is very pertinent information that you’re usually pretty good at clarifying.
Why wouldn’t he take them on days he works out?
@Abluesky it inhibits the inflammation process which prevents hypertrophy
@天安门大屠杀1989 I see. I wonder about the degree of inhibition. I have consumed turmeric and curcumin supplements for off and on for decades and I can notice any effect on hypertrophy. I just start taking glyNAC at the therapeutic dosage in the paper and frankly, I did notice strength and muscle loss. Also, the NAC makes me really “mucussy” at that dosage so I’m losing enthusiasm for the protocol.
Can you make an episode about the best supplements for vegans to take, please?
Hormones, lots of protein. Precursors for heme? Good topic idea.
NAC is not the cheapest or not nearly as cheap as Glycine, so taking like 8 grams of NAC every day is literally 16 pills of the NAC supplement that I have right now. Gets expensive real quick.
NAC powder, not pills
on DoNotAge they say you need to take it on empty stomach, is it best to take before meals, few hours after or it doesn’t matter ?
Can u make a video about gluthamine?
Thank you. Does taking Magnesium-Glyince also compensate for taking just Glycine?
U need 12-30g glycine. I eyeball somewhere between 5g to 15g currently plus collagen.
