Today, we have an exciting guest. When you find an amazing story, you want to share it with others, and this is a truly amazing story. I hope his journey encourages you to take your health back or keep going with your own health journey.

At one point, Jim was at 395 pounds and had several health problems. He had even been hospitalized a couple of times. But he decided something needed to change and found the keto diet.

With his new eating plan and some, but not a lot, of exercise, the weight seemed to just fall off. In February 2023, Jim was at about 365 pounds. Now, in September 2023, he weighs 255 pounds and feels fantastic.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS TO JIM! 🎉 Also, thanks, Dr. Berg for providing safe, healthy nutritional supplements! After learning about glyphosates- suppressing detoxification enzymes in the liver ⚠️ causes toxicity through modulation of the gut microbiome ⚠️ etc.. I will continue to avoid drugstore supplements, kellogg pop-tarts, wine, and GMO junk! Stay strong, Jim! 💪

So inspiring on many levels…after menopause, I could not loose weight, keto finally broke that barrier…but I fell off of the keto diet and will begin again…it helps so much for my fibromyalgia and that’s what I feel the most right now…once back on keto, my aches and pains will subside…thank you both again🥰

    • I suffer with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis among other things. I did Atkins a while ago so I know Keto works. I’d like to be down 100 lbs by this time next year. I wish you the best outcome possible and would love to hear your testimony. ❤️🙏🏽💯

  4. I lost 87 in 9 months.

    I started out doing 72 hour fasts, and 3 days of 1 meal each. I did that for 6 months. I then am now on two meals per day. 292 lbs to 204 lbs. I also did my first ever 5k in about 32 minutes. I’ve never ran before. I also eat for insulin resistance.

    Fasting became a super power. But understanding what your body needs is what is always best. I upped my running and activity and haven’t transitioned back into fasting as much as I’d like. It’s hard fight for me to figure out rest and recovery and tapering down my food intake back towards fasting.

    I’ve yo-yo’d for years. 384->180->340->204 lbs. Size 68-> almost 34 waist. Size 3XL to Medium. Fasting, eating for insulin resistance and moving more has been maintaining my health. My resting heart rate is now 68, instead of 89. I also don’t snore anymore.

  5. I agree. Jim is truly inspiring. Everything he says shows how committed he is to maintaining his new lifestyle of eating right. Diets don’t work because they force you to do without, so he’s doing the best thing to stay off the weight. Well done, Jim. And thank you, Dr. Berg, for bringing someone like Jim to your platform because practical reality works so much better than words sometimes.

  6. Lost 85, gained 60 back (stress and bad decisions) 🙁 but getting back in to it TODAY.

    I loved the changes and how healthy I was feeling listening to Dr. Berg but I slipped up BIG TIME.

    This was very motivating

    • After 30 days it’s an easier ride. Put your nose to the grindstone and set a 30 day mark. I did AND I got advise from the influencer YouTube doctors.
      I am 64 – 5’7, started Aug 19th at 173 lbs. – weigh in this morning at 160 lbs with NO exercise and never feeling hungry. The first two weeks were hard with cravings. THEN got easier. Good luck. 👍😘

  7. I am 64, came back to FL from vacationing up North, stepped on scale to see 173lbs.
    Went full force into Carnivore August 19th.
    Followed these Dr influencers for guidance and everything they experienced – I did and still do. Weigh in October 1st – 160 lbs. I’m feeling great, don’t exercise at all!!! Belly fat almost gone, my muscles are toner and I too have NO desire to eat junk food. Even my desire to eat bacon and chicken gone. I know many others have gotten this. Anyway, best thing is: for almost a year I have had pain arthritis in my foot AND foggy eyes like I was getting cataracts. I thought oh know, guess I’ll be needing that surgery. Now heading into 60 day Carnivore – almost gone! True!
    Just keep going. The holidays will be 90 days for me. What a present to myself. 👍❤️

    • I went food shopping this morning and spent $65 – bought eggs, heavy cream, a block of cheese, butter, now for meats… I did purchase chicken as it was on sale and I will freeze. I bought several chuck steaks, smaller shoulder steaks and a pack of frozen liver… while frozen Cut into about 8 pieces and freeze individually. I eat one or two small pieces a week. I already had salmon and grass fed ground beef in my freezer. Couple cans of tuna. Done! Pretty much what I’ve been eating. I did splurge a few times on RibEye.

  8. Fantastic Jim! I lost my family doctor last December and had to start looking after my own health. I suffered from intense heartburn 24/7 and was on a proton inhibitor for years. Joint inflammation was also an issue. I’d tried the “keto diet” last year but quickly became overwhelmed and quit only to find out it was dirty keto. In January 2023 I found this channel, I now see Dr. Berg as my doctor! Starting at 174lbs on a small framed, 65 yr old Scottish/Scandinavian woman, I am now 136lbs 9 months later. I will never eat sugar again, or bread. I follow your high fat, low carb lifestyle with intermittent fasting and sometimes unintentionally OMAD, if I’m not hungry I don’t eat. I start my day with coffee with 35% crème, followed by my 500 ml lemon water with ginger and acv at 11 am. Breakfast for me is at 1 or 1.30 pm. Large salad with pecans, 1 or 2 farm eggs, hunk of triple cream Brie cheese and maybe half an avocado. Afternoon drink is 500 ml spring water with trace minerals and electrolytes. 3 pm Japanese green tea. Dinner is meat and extra veg. I often treat myself to berries in 35% cream for desert. I take between 6,000 and 10,000 iu of D3 depending on season plus K2 after dinner and a C and calcium daily. I have other supplements like zinc that I take intermittently. I need to start coQ10 after watching one of your recent videos. Not only lost almost 40 lbs, which wasn’t my original intention but I no longer have debilitating heart burn and my joint inflammation is all but gone. I will NEVER go back to eating breads, rice and potatoes. I will NEVER go back to sugar! It’s hard to put into words but I’ve never been a “lifestyle change” person but this has been so easy as long as you start small you can do it. This is my life now. I don’t recommend jumping in with two feet because it’s easy to become overwhelmed, just give up one addictive additive at a time and before you know it tea with sugar is disgusting. I used to be “addicted” to corn flakes and sugar for breakfast. No more. I used to think if I can’t have a sandwich for lunch what else is there? No more. Bedtime tea with cookies? No more.
    You have completely changed my life Dr. Berg and I thank you.

  9. I went keto at 70 yrs old. I lost 55 lbs in 6 months. Keto, intermittent fasting, and exercise. I am 71 yrs old. I’m now 125lbs. 5’6”. Have as much energy as I had in my 20’s.

  16. Dr. Berg’ advice is excellent. I stopped drinking alcohol. Following the doctor’s advice I lost 65 lbs. I cured my fatty liver after three years on the new diet. I stopped diabetes from coming in the pre-diabetes stage, and I lowered my blood pressure. I eat once a day and I walk for my exercise. I use intermittent fasting. I am now 66 and in great health, better than before.

  17. I started watching Eric Berg videos in April of this year and have dropped from 107kgs to my target weight of 83kgs putting my BMI in the ‘Normal’ range for the first time in decades. I eat very well on a low carb diet and have pretty much eliminated ultra processed, sugary foods and don’t feel hungry all the time. I also did the intermittent fasting, eat shorter, fast longer that’s so effective. Thank you Dr Eric Berg! 👍

  18. I found your videos in March this year. I didn’t realise how many pre diabetic symptoms I had before trying the keto diet. Since then, I turned to the carnivore diet around 2 months ago. Once I factored in organ meats, my physical strength went through the roof. Although I’ve always been slim, I definitely suffered from insulin resistance. Although I’ve always ridden mountain bikes, I’ve recently entered ‘beast mode’ with my strength and resilience, physically and mentally. I’m now 53 and feel stronger, fitter and healthier than when I was in my 20’s. I don’t get sick, only stronger. Thank you Dr Berg, you literally are a life saver/extender 🙏

  19. Started keto and IF 04/22 with 149.5kg. Today im 103kg and still loosing weight. Improved focus, energy, mood and anxiety! And my test levels are 🔥🚀! Thanks Dr. Berg!!
