  1. The types that like some socializing are usually psychologically healthier than those who are home all day.
Mental health leads to physical health.

    • Sure, but that’s because they don’t have any know health problems, not because they’re socializing or whatever. If you have health problems, you won’t become healthier by drinking. Correlation, not causation.

    • @@RandomGuy-lu1en No, i’m saying thats why people that drink a little are healthier, because they socialize more, not because of the alcohol.
It explains the difference in health between non drinkers and mild drinkers.

    • Hormesis is a funny thing. Alcohol or even tabacco in microdose might be beneficial. I would not go as far to recommend it. But the poison is always in the dose. If it activates your longevity pathways. That’s a good thing.

Problem is we don’t know the optimal dose. Probably it will also be very individual. Anything that lowers your stress is high value. Many factors to consider.

  2. There’s also the question about the quality, I like the Korean beer, Kirin, made from the mountains dew water, but it’s banned in UK. At least I call it banned as it’s impossible to purchase from, or in UK. I spoke with a professional wushu athlete who told me that the herbalists of China make healthy cigarettes, which are also given to the high ups in the CCP. Apparently they can help live longer, but are super expensive and are called Panda cigarettes.

    • The modern-day chine se are terribly unhealthy. Plus, there’s tons of other factors that play into the health of past chinese culture. And its likely not alcohol

  3. Theres significantly more evidence to suggest that alcohol consumption is detrimental to health. So in the topic of health, 0 alcohol is good.

However, throwing in other factors, like overall well-being, stress, and social factors, a small amount may be non detrimental. As long as you are already in good health and exercise, eat right, etc.

  4. Yes, I need to start drinking.😂 My stomach Has an issue with the alcohol. I notice when I would drink just a few ounces of Red Dry
    Wine
A few times a week, my stomach got used to it and actually liked it.

  5. I am glad that you analysed this properly and considered co-factors. There was a study done years ago that deduced that people who slept longer than the average sleep time lived shorter lives. The study did not consider that these patients may have had co-factors that required them to sleep longer.

  6. People who are straight edge might find themselves socially isolated if they refuse company or abstain from parties just because alcohol is present, and social isolation is extremely harmful long-term. Thankfully alcohol free drinks exist, but this is a common reason to drink, because many would not like to be considered “boring”.
