In this video, we’re going to talk about what to eat to support the health of your arteries. First, let’s take a look at the foods and substances that can lead to heart disease in the first place.
Heart problems begin in the endothelial layer of your arteries—the permeable membrane that lines your vascular system and lymphatic system.
Inflammation is induced when the endothelial layer of your arteries is exposed to the following:
•Stress
•Sugar
•Refined carbohydrates
•Seed oils (canola, soy, corn)
•Chronic alcohol use
•Chronic smoking habits
The Coronary Artery Calcification Test (CAC test) and the Heart Rate Variability test are excellent predictors of mortality by assessing damage in your cardiovascular system.
You can also measure the small-dense particle size of LDL, test your homocysteine levels, and test for the MTHFR gene.
Fortunately, there are foods that can help clean out your arteries and undo cardiovascular damage.
Here are nine foods that can unclog and support the health of your arteries:
1. Omega-3 from salmon, sardines, other fatty fish, and cod liver
2. Extra virgin olive oil
3. Dark leafy greens
4. Authentic parmesan cheese (Parmigiano)
5. Nutritional yeast (non-fortified)
6. Raw sauerkraut
7. Almonds
8. Liver
9. Grass-fed red meat

Thank you for all your hard work Dr Berg!🙌
If it’s from the CDC or WHO, you’re probably better off following the opposite advice.
Glad to help!
He’s not even a real doctor lol
@@SupermanOG he is a real doctor. I guess you mean not a MD. There are many kinds of doctors.
@@diane2413 the majority of people understand doctor to mean an MD/physician especially with regards to healthcare/medical stuff.
The average person coming across his videos will assume he’s a qualified MD doctor which he isn’t.
I took your advice and haven’t been overtraining as much as I used to, but I have recently added ¼ tsp of real salt before bed, and my sleep has improved ALOT! I might kick off tomorrow with a teaspoon or so of cold-pressed Currant Seed Oil on my broccoli Sprouts 🙂 Thanks a bunch, Dr. Berg!
Awesome! I was just thinking about electrolyte balance. And of course depending on our personal health conditions it can be like a maze, figuring out what’s best for us personally. Like you, I’m thankful for Dr. Berg who sheds light, and helps the public with some direction. Thank you for sharing this. I still have a lot to figure out because of my own conditions. God bless, and I wish you well on your health journey.
I’m going to try that, my insomnia is awful.
You drink this in water?
I’ve been using Redmond Real Salt for almost a year now.
I use it in food, and ferments,
It’s has made a huge difference in my physical well being.
Absolutely never going back to “white table salt”!
@MzladyGrinn I use pink himalayan salt, I also bought dr bergs baja salt, haven’t used it yet
Thanks Dr. Eric my mom just had triple bypass at 65 and I’ve doubled down on my heart health and my heath in general. Been watching you for couple years and really love this channel keep doing what you do we all Love you and the information you share!
Good on you. I work in a cardiac department which has certainly made me double down on my own heart health, NYE blowout notwithstanding!
Happy New Year, Dr. Berg and everyone! Thank you for another very informative video! 🙏🏼🤍✨ Grateful for truthful knowledge. All the BEST in 2024 🎉🥳🥑🍋🫐
My brother recently had a bypass surgery just at 49 years old. He was lucky it was caught on time. He’s smoking and has bad eating habits. Even after the surgery I shared many information that you provided, he still can’t make a change. I’m fear that it will come back later 🤦♀️
There’s little chance you can change him, I tried the same with my father who has heart issues and no success, and with other people in other areas of life, in general it’s hard to convince people to take healthy steps or improve their life if they don’t want it or don’t care about it, the rate is usually 2%, that shouldn’t stop you though, it’s your brother
Addictions destroy our lives and people must WANT to change and develop disciplines/accountability networks to have a chance.
@@WilliamFlueryThe processed food most of us eat is damaging and addictive. Most people don’t know what they’re eating
Thank you Dr Berg for such informative video… My 65 years old father is having high bp oftenly and I am going to add these things in his diet plan(veg items) . Happy new year.
Beets! Helps increase nitric oxide 😊
@@allison471 thanks.
I started my journey almost 4 weeks ago by taking your advice with fresh food and 18:6 intermittent fasting. The results have been physically and mentally extremely positive due to having that knowledge, thanks to you! I have lost 15lbs so far and I will continue this life-long journey. I tried eating healthy earlier this year, but it was the intermittent fasting that my body needed as well. Quite a bit of the foods on this list is what I consume, so that’s a great sign. Let’s all hope for a successful New Year in 2024 and I hope to share my results when the time comes!
Dr how can you balance not slowing down your metabolic rate when fasting as naturally it slows down due to not working it due to fasting?
Congratulations! I started keto and IF a couple years ago. Life changing for sure!
Good effort. Keep it up, mate. And happy New Year.

Worth eating more about this 😂
Cayenne pepper should be on that list
I also add turmeric with piperdine.
Thank you 🎉
Thank you very much Dr.Berg. I really appreciate your honesty and empathy for other humans. You’re helping us to understand our bodies, and how to keep healthy as there is an overwhelming amount of information out there these days, which is probably on purpose to confuse us. Also Doctors are expensive to visit in Ireland (like everything else 😅) and then it feels kind of rushed when you get there because they’re so busy. I get all my information from you. Thank you so much. ❤
You saved my life, Doc. I’m glad to see your evolution over the last few years like we all are. Pleasure to continue to make your acquaintance. Enchanté ! ❤
This is amazing information, Dr Berg. That’s why I stopped watching the telly and trusting politicians years ago. It’s good to know that taking the right foods, supplements and practising good habits is fundamental for our health. Knowledge is power. I’m so grateful for all your time and dedication to provide substantial advice and support. Thank you for raising awareness 🙏🏻
Thank you for all this relevant information, Dr Berg. Your videos have been helping me to recover from dysautonomia/pots due to long covid. I’m so grateful and appreciate your time, dedication and empathy helping so many people worldwide. Love from the UK 🙏🏻 🇬🇧
I have Post Covid Long Haul Syndrome, too. If you’d like to trade self-treatment protocols, feel free to reply.
Years ago, I watched Dr Berg’s valuable information on vitamins and nutrition. I did not eat a Keto diet since I believed the misinformation that a vegan/plant based diet was the healthiest and cure-all. After following that diet to a T from books published by their doctors for over 5 years, my health continued to spiral downward. When all my diseases, 2 pages long with double columns and bi-annual bloodworks kept indicating I was getting worse. I was desperate and tried Keto. My bi-annual bloodwork, for the first time in 5 years, results were all in the normal range. After the third lab results, my GP said there were no reasons to test me twice a year and changed it to annually. I will never be bamboozed to eat a vegan/plant based diet again.
Note: my autoimmune disease, Sjogren’s Syndrome, reading remained the same. However, the symptoms dissappeared.
~Yes, i was a long time vegan, too~It was people’s stories who had gone keto, and then, especially, Bill Gates trying to get us away from meat that convinced me!~
Excellent. I definitely think IF is beneficial. And just cutting out all the processed crap will add years to our lives.
Hai Doc, honest question. I read Lifespan and it mention M-TOR inhibitor as one factor to slow aging, which is not eating red meat. Any suggestions? Thank you for the videos btw, i’ve been following your channels for sometime, being keto and it helps my arthritis knee❤
This looks like a great list. I am surprised not to see organic Cayenne Pepper on here. I’ve been taking 1/2 tsp, twice a day (morning and evening) and I can literally feel the difference it makes with my bloodflow.
isnt it just a vasodialator. i have cayene in tea, cocoa, food etc i love it.
my freind ray had to have a bypass but he didnt want one so he tried neolife salmon oil plus, within three months he no longer got breathless, chest pain, left arm pain when working, he kept taking it .
that was approx 2003 its 2023 hes still here no bypass hes now 75.
How to you take it? On some kind of food?
@@mattg7977I mix mine with water and drink it quick
Me too,I can testify on cayenne pepper, brought me right back to life one morning on my way to work. I felt such a huge pressure and burning in my head,I panicked a bit wondering what’s going on and remember the cayenne I always keep in my lunch bag and ate it dry just like that.(pour about half tsp on the palm of my hand and swished it around and swallowed) The symptoms disappeared within seconds Obviously I prayed as I did so. I am 56 and really healthy now, this episode happened in early November.God is the lover of our souls,I truly believe in Jesus as my Savior.

Dr. Berg; thank you for all of the invaluable, educating information to improve overall Health & Wellness for this past year of 2023!
Wishing you and your family great Health, Wealth, Prosperity, Success, Happiness, and absolute Safety in the New Year 2024!
Thank you for always presenting information I trust over all due to your research and true commitment to human health. The FDA, WHO and big Pharma should take note‼️
Dr Berg, I’ve been following you for a few years now and I always appreciate the work you put into your presentations.
Concerning Almonds, would soaking them and then removing their protective covering resolve some of the concerns you raise?
I have seen information that claims it increases their efficacy by as much as 400%.
Interested in your thoughts on this.
Keep up the GOOD work.
Such an important video especially to wrap up 2023. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for keeping the world healthy.
Thank you Dr. Berg! I do so many things on this list, learning from you and all the other great Drs. out here! I swear eating 2 tablespoons a day of Sauerkraut keeps my gut healthy along with all the organic whole food vitamins I take recommended by ny practitioner’s 😊 Happy New Year 🎉🎉
