In this video, I’m going to share my opinion of the carnivore diet after following it for 2 weeks. Not everyone does well on the same diet, so it’s important to experiment with different diets to find the right one for you.

Many people do very well on the carnivore diet! The carnivore diet can be very helpful for people with gut issues and autoimmune conditions.

While on the carnivore diet, I ate beef, pork, eggs, seafood, shellfish, and dairy. I discovered that I had been experiencing bloating due to my nut consumption. I didn’t experience any energy changes because I already have high energy.

For the first few days, I didn’t have any bowel movements. This was probably because my gut microbes needed to adjust.

Some people wonder about vitamin C intake on the carnivore diet. When you go on the carnivore diet, your need for vitamin C decreases.

I do not plan to continue the carnivore diet. I will continue eating the same proteins along with salads made from high-quality ingredients. I’ll also consume fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles.

I love to add extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, nutritional yeast, and feta cheese to my salads. The calcium in cheese binds to any oxalates that are in your salad, removing them from the digestive system.

I’ll also add berries to my diet, but I won’t be eating any nuts!

  1. I went mostly carnivore over a year ago and have seen tremendous improvement in health…especially no more inflammation.

  2. I would have liked to see his report aticking to carnivore for 30 60 and 90 days along with lab work.
2 weeks is barely enough time for average person to metabolically switch.

  3. I’ve been on the carnivore way of eating for about 18 months now. It has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic and Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as Fibromyalgia and Hashimotos Disease over the last three decades. I’ve lost nearly 70 pounds but I consider that a bonus to everything else that has happened. I’m now off all medications and all of my inflammation markers are now normal. I feel like I’m getting my life back. I will never go back to eating the Standard American Diet again. I’ll stick with Carnivore….I don’t miss salads….I miss the dressings I used to drench them in.

    • Please can you explain more. This is just eating meat?? No any good bread?? Or rice? I can’t do this, I would love it because I want to see the difference. How about beans?? I am skinny.. even eating a lot. Probably because my job. I don’t know what to do because if I started doing this type of diet I am going to disappear. I will be extremely skinny. I need carbs because my job and workout… I don’t have any health issues.. I ate pretty healthy all my life, but no strictly. I love bread, cookies, fruits, vegetables, good quality pizza. Anyway. So you just eat meat??

  4. O cannot say it enough: I APPRECIATE YOUR INTELLECTUAL HONESTY; an honesty which leads you to the science and you follow. Most hv too much ego. Ty Doc!

  5. In the 70’s, when I was in college, I did the Atkins diet, which is the carnivore diet that you’re speaking of. I lost 50 pounds and it cleared my mind and gave me lots of energy. I would love to get back to it, but getting past the first few days is very difficult for me in my 70s.

    • Getting past the first few days is difficult, not as difficult as being in your 70’s and suffering from various ailments, fatigue and lack of clarity.

    • Just to add, I’m 69 and I’m currently on carnivore by default. I discovered that I wasn’t consuming even half the amount of protein that I need, minimum, so I had to increase my consumption of meat, eggs, and fish. I don’t have the house room for anything else.

    • The Atkins diet is a low-carbohydrate high protein diet that allows for a variety of foods, including meat, poultry, fish, eggs, vegetables, and limited amounts of fats and dairy. It focuses on controlling carbohydrate intake while still incorporating other food groups.
the carnivore diet is an extreme version of a low-carbohydrate diet where only animal products are consumed, such as meat, fish, eggs, and some dairy. It excludes all plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and nuts.

Keto is high fat low carb moderate protein.

Atkins requires particular amounts of protein daily, while on carnivore you just eat as much as you want and when you feel like it.

    • Cut out all processed foods and go on low carb like Dr Berg teaches.
Then for a couple months; do every other day Carnivore.
Do expect toilet problems if you have a fatty liver that is detoxing & moving the sludge out. It’s all part of the process to health. 🎉

  6. Carnivore with IF has helped me get closer to my 20 year old self. Being 54 this is a great thing. I just can’t do strict Carnivore for very long. But the fasting is easy peasy for this previously 240 lbs woman😅😊

  7. I’ve been carnivore for a little over 4 years. My dairy is limited to the weekends and I am switching to goat & sheep cheeses to see if that helps with my bloating. If not, dairy is out of the picture for me. Glad you were able to identify nuts as your trigger.

    • I’m still not seeing goat or sheep cheese in the markets yet. Is it listed under those titles…or are their specific types of cheeses that are goat or sheep cheese? 🤔

    • @@jayc5756they come in different forms. One looks like a wihte tube aboit 10 inches long, its very soft and creamy and yhen you havr the aged type like spanish cheese, it comes mainly cut into quarter from a bigger circle shaped cheede, ive seen some already sliced but more expensive.

  8. I went full on total Carnivore for 3 weeks to get me started on this journey. Reduced all inflammation and cravings to zero. I am now very clean and limited Keto with 20 – 4 IF and I like it much better. And I feel great!

    • I eat OMAD for years. Get sick everyday after eating, back on couch 20+ hours per day until it’s time to eat again!
      All foods cause autoimmune attacks.

  9. I’ve had RA for over 30 years. I was doing keto and doing much better but still inflamed, went on carnivore and all the inflammation subsided. Absolutely incredible.

  10. 54 year old male

    In aug I weighed 238
Horrible bloating and lower stomach pain every time I ate veggies and sugar

    Went carnivore
    I weigh 188
I can eat anything again without issues except for broccoli cauliflower if raw so I stay away
I work out at 530 am which I never could do before
My knee and shoulder pain are gone I no longer wear a brace on my knee
My hair and skin seem a lot better
    Skin tags disappeared
I almost can’t believe it and I live it

  11. 50 year old male. Was on SAD diet my whole life then Vegan diet from age 46 to 48. Felt like I was dying and two years ago at age 48 started the carnivore diet. I feel the best eating ribeye, ground elk, ground hamburger, eggs, bacon, butter, salt, San Peligrino, and two cups black coffee in the morning. So that’s all I eat. I reversed these health issues. Pre diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, lost 70pounds, brain fog, depression, anxiety, joint paint throughout whole body. I started keto through learning from Dr Berg and felt great but quickly switched to the carnivore diet and feel even better.

  12. Dr. Berg…really appreciate your content, thank you! I’m a 60 year old gym goer who has lost 30 lbs. of fat on carnivore…exactly the same way you ate for your two weeks. Been eating that way for about 4 months and have no gut issues at all and feel very strong. I add a few veggies a couple times a week like beets, zucchini, cauliflower and broccoli. I take all the supplements that you have recommended throughout your various videos. My doctor tends to agree with the same things you endorse too. So, great job and thank you for this video. Love your demeanor.

  13. I’m 70, type 2 diabetic; I have read Dr Gabrielle Lyon’s book and was fascinated by the meat diet. I’m now carnivorous since the last 3 weeks; my sugar and energy are very good. Thanks Dr Berg; please continue on this topic.

  14. You should try the carnivore for 90 days. I did keto for years with IF. Lost weight and felt good, but would still always want sugar. Switched to carnivore and now when I’m around people eating the junk food I don’t want it, and it doesn’t make my mouth water anymore smelling the carbs. Also I found it’s a lot easier to build muscle and lose fat.

    • I did it for 2days. I ate only steak on the 1st day. On the 2nd day ate the same steak in the afternoon and went out with my family for dinner in a restaurant, I bought them food and let them eat. I didnt even want to touch anything. I just watched them eat. 😂 The cravings were gone.. im not even feeling hungry. The bloating is gone as well. The only problem with this WOE is i do get very very skinny very fast if i dont eat any carbs.. i want to be healthy but i still want to look good and not look sick.

    • Elaborate why is that. Because my biggest issue is my sweet tooth cravings. I know how to limit it on certain diets….but the days I go super no carbs or sugar, I still have those cravings.

As far as I know…based on what I see, the Keto diet doesn’t seem too off from this carnivore diet that he did…just not much salads and stuff. So I’m confused how that took away your sweet tooth cravings and stuff.

  15. My wife and I have been on carnivore for 14 months. Over 100lbs weight loss combined. The biggest and most substantial change was with my wife and her food addiction to sweets and carbs. After about 6 weeks on the WOE she says they just went away. This is a woman that has been on diets her entire adult life and even had gastric bypass 15yrs ago. We are so blessed to find this WOE, even in our 50’s.

  16. I have been a carnivore for well over a year, I hope you gave it more than two weeks lol that is not enough time. I eat zero vegetables at all for 1.5 years almost. I no longer eat cheese or dairy. I take zero supplements have lost over 115lbs and have been weight stable for half a year at the same weight I was at 18 years old fresh out of basic training back in the late 1990s! Carnivore for life, has changed my life, arguably saved my life honestly

  17. I was keto for a long time and now I’ve been on the carnivore for 2 years, never felt better. Depression GONE, IBS GONE, headaches GONE, fatique GONE, excess body fat GONE, libido better than ever. My skin looks amazing and im thriving in the gym.

I will never quit, this is my new way of life.

  18. I appreciate that you chose to try. That’s an open-minded attitude. Thank you for that. So refreshing. AND intelligent.
