Let’s talk about how to remove tartar and support your oral health.

In nature, vitamin C comes in a complex. One part of the complex is ascorbic acid. In many cases, vitamin C supplements will only contain ascorbic acid.

Generally, you would want to consume the entire natural complex, but you can use ascorbic acid to help get rid of dental plaque, cavities, and gingivitis.

Vitamin C is essential for many different parts of the body, including:
• Skin
• Ligaments
• Cartilage
• Discs
• Bones
• Teeth
• Capillaries and blood vessels

Vitamin C also has other important functions, including:
• Suppressing pathogens
• Detoxing histamines
• Making the active form of folate
• Converting cholesterol into bile salts
• Converting tryptophan into serotonin
• Converting dopamine into epinephrine
• Making adrenal hormone steroids
• Fighting infection
• Increasing resistance to infection

To try the best natural remedy for dental plaque, dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 cup of warm water. Then, add 1/4 teaspoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1/4 teaspoon of non-GMO ascorbic acid.

You can also add essential oils like peppermint or clove to help with the taste and freshen your breath. Brush your teeth with this mixture once a day, spit it out, and rinse your mouth.

You should also consume foods high in vitamin C to support your oral health, including:
• Peppers
• Green vegetables
• Lemons and limes
• Sauerkraut

  1. I have always used sea salt and baking soda in my mouth wash and brush with it. My teeth feel great, and have that proper “slippery feel”, but I am going to try adding Vit C and see how that works out. Before I learned to take better care of my teeth I had 2 root canals and my gums tend to be sensitive and bleed easy around them.

    • @Count it all Joy I don’t use any carrier oil as I found oil was unsuitable for this region.

Mine is mixture of baking soda with rice flour. Rice flour is the one used to make it adhere properly as well as smoothing. Traditionally in Asia, we used rice flour for many beautification purpose such as for face, hence my choice for it.

Ratio about 10:1, rice flour to baking soda, depending on how your skin may react, add or reduce the baking soda. 10:1 is good for me, you may need to find out your own recipe after little experiment. Do a small batch that can be use for 2-3 days for better judgement. If you have a mixture that doesn’t affect your skin as well as achieve the purpose that lasts for a month, that’s your ratio. If it hurts, stop that recipe and use aqueous cream for treatment. I kept experimenting till I get a good one for mine.

After bath, dry with towel but slightly moist, apply them underarm then use fingers to spread it evenly and thinly. Wash your hand afterwards and you are ready to go. It will sticks there nicely as if it never there just like how powdered talcum works.

Do not apply this on face or nether region. You may use this in case of swamp croth or athlete’s foot.

    • @Count it all Joy I forgot your question, how much? I bought a kilogram of baking soda few years ago, still having it now. It can last you for years. I bought a kilo because it was cheaper in that bulk. Rice flour is very cheap too but because of ratio, you need a lot of it. But, 500gm of rice flour can last for many months.

I use spoon as my measuring tools, and old bottle of talcum (small/medium size) as container. I mixed them evenly and fill it till full as long as it got space. Normally around 2-3 spoon of baking soda for each batch for me that can last for more than a month. I forgot when was the last time I made the last batch since I still having it.

  2. Dr. Berg releases videos on the exact health topics I am currently worrying about on such a consistent basis it’s uncanny, almost starting to think I’m schizophrenic and he can read my mind to be honest. Forget about the other 8.8M subscribers, he’s talking to me specifically.

  3. Any particular brand you can recommend for the absorbic acid, Mr. Berg? Thank you for your video. Thank you for your work.

  4. Hey there! Thank you for the video, Dr. Berg!
I have a question on a similar topic. Could you make a detailed video on tonsils and how to cure (if it’s possible) chronic tonsillitis. My guess is one should be on keto, include raw garlic daily and most importantly do prolonged fasting every month, because autophagy must be the key.
Anyway, any advice from a professional like you is highly appreciated.
Cheers from a sane part of Russia!

    • I had severe tonsillitis a few years back. I took some clean fresh ginger, chewed and swallowed it even though it was very painful and burned. I felt so much better in just a couple of hours. The next day my tonsils went back to their normal size.

    • I would start with using your index finger to “express” and massage your tonsils frequently. Really get in there and dig around the back of your mouth with your fingers, use Listerine and/or salt and baking soda, and clear out all the gunk and debris. Keep them clean, and gargle with warm saline (salt and baking soda) several times a day.

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC good morning dr, does coconut oil actually work for your teeth and how about vitamin k2

  5. Also K2 helps reduce the hardened plaque (calculus). As for vitamin C, I wonder if synthetic works better than natural since it’s primarily ascorbic acid 🤔

    • @Manjunath Chatradhar
FYI, I’ve researched Non GMO brands of vitamin C and found that any that have QUALI-C certified ingredients listed, are actually derived from non GMO corn and manufactured in Scotland.
Dr’s Best brand has it and is quite reasonably priced.
      🌽

  6. Dr. Berg covers all topics or issues with your body, if you’re not listening to this man you’re definitely doing something wrong ‼ Thanks Dr. Berg 💜

  7. Wow Doc. Back to back home runs! Peppers are a MAJOR anti inflammatory, and packed with vitamin C. One pepper in particular, cayenne, is great for opening up nasal passages, and airways. It also has some great anti microbial properties of it’s own. Thanks again Doc!

  8. I noticed most of the dental plaque disappeared when I switched from fluoride toothpaste to toothpaste with nano-hydroxyapatite.

    • @Destiny Boka toothpaste online. I just ordered some bc i have some small cracks in my enamel from bruxism/teeth grinding at night from stress 😕 boka is an american brand. NH is more standard in Korean or Japanese brands 😒 idk why its not more standard here in the US 😒🤷‍♀️

  9. Dentist here. Biofilms that form on teeth are not only natural and normal but play a key role in maintaining oral health, preventing decay, and periodontal problems. The goal is not to just remove bacteria out of your mouth (i.e. antiseptic mouthwashes can cause acute rises in blood pressure as the bacteria in the mouth produce nitric oxide, a vasodilator, vital for vascular health), rather to have an appropriate oral microbiota balance, which is disrupted by things like high carb/sugar diets and mouth breathing.

    • Kimchi is as good as sauerkraut for this? I never have liked sauerkraut. Maybe I need to find a good recipe.

    • I recall years ago reading a story of an Africa tribe with no dental problems. Of course, no refined foods or sugars. And they chewed on peelu bark. You can buy Peelu toothpaste. I had forgotten about that!

    • @Sara Michelle ask around for a homemade sauerkraut. I’ve got an order in from a local lady, because the store bought sauerkraut tasted like poop to me. Ive heard homemade is supposed to be better in benefits and taste

    • @Zan Duncan I have struggled with dental problems ever since I was a kid. I’ve tried everything under the sun. Even when i was keto for 3 years, i still had issues with cavities and plaque. About 4 months ago, I started adding hydrogen peroxide to the water in my waterpik. I am FINALLY seeing some improvement. I just had a cleaning recently (I need to have them more frequently because I am at the point where I have bone loss) and my dental hygienist asked me what I have been doing differently because she noticed a huge improvement in my gums. She did suggest supplementing vitamic c as well.

  10. I am always sharing your videos with my family and friends. You are my go-to for health information. Thank you for such well researched and reliable information. Love you Dr. Berg!

  11. I started putting some (vitamin c) I bought in bulk, in my daily bone broth & collagen. I said my teeth feel better but it’s hard to explain what I mean. Yes & my breath is better. Side note: I took my hair down (out of cornrows) after 2 1/2 weeks. I barely shedded any hair. Your hair can be an indicator of what’s going on in the body.

  12. My dad grew up on a small island. He was told that fruits like limes and Lemons plus eating raw garlic almost everyday would keep his mouth and immune system healthy. Grown up eating raw limes and lemons and garlic and have had no cavities. I’ll be 30 next year. When I feel getting sick or having allergies I grab my limes and lemons and raw garlic and eat it up.

    • Nice. 😃I just got a lemon tree few days ago.

I use good Olive oil to brush my teeth. It’s way more gentle . But works right away. To remove plaque and tartar.
      😁✨ your welcome.

    • I haven’t had any cavities till I turned 60 and I didn’t do any of that. But in my late late 50s I started eating lots of ice cream and junk food.

    • How do you eat raw limes and lemons? just pop a piece of lime/lemon in your in ur mouth and eat? seems quite harsh!

  13. The scary thing about listening to Dr. Berg is that I’d listen to him over any Dr./Specialist; if I had a serious ailment, he’d be my 1st, 2nd & 3rd opinion!!!

  14. Timing couldn’t be more perfect for dental/oral health video. I needed this guidance for my daughters oral issues. Thank you dr. Berg. You are great. Thank you from Canada. 🇨🇦 🍁

  15. You always come out with videos at the EXACT time I need to see them! Just came back from the dentist and was thinking about this just this week! Thank you Dr. Berg!

  16. Thanks for this additional video, Dr Berg. Given that there is heart trouble in my family (from plaque/lipid disorders) and a tendency to develop plaque on my teeth, I am now following all your remedies! 👍🏻😊

  17. I brush my teeth with modified citrus pectin every few days and it completely gets rid of dental plaque because citrus pectin breaks biofilms better than anything else! Thanks for educating the world about how to naturally care for ourselves, Dr. Berg!

  18. Dr Berg. I’ve always been a dental health nut with regular cleanings, and I always had significant tartar build-up at every cleaning. About 2 years ago, I started avoiding high-oxalate foods (spinach and almonds). At my 5 cleanings since cutting oxalate, I have had ZERO tartar buildup. Calcium oxalate is one of the minerals that cause build-up (and kidney stones).
