One of the most common treatments for cancer is chemotherapy, which uses powerful drugs to target and kill cancer cells. Chemo can cause uncomfortable side effects such as nausea, fatigue, hair loss, and weakened immune function. Fortunately, there are ways to counter these side effects and support your body during chemo treatment.

Compounds found in plants have a range of health benefits, including cancer prevention. Five specific phytonutrients that have shown strong chemo-preventative factors are sulforaphane, resveratrol, quercetin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and allicin. They can be found in foods such as broccoli, grapes, green tea, and garlic.

Magnesium deficiency has also been linked to cachexia, a condition where the body loses tissue and becomes weak. This can be especially dangerous for cancer patients who are already struggling with weight loss and fatigue due to their illness.

Selenium plays a crucial role in immune function. If you are undergoing chemo or have cancer, you may want to supplement with 200 to 400 micrograms of selenium daily.

Intermittent fasting, prolonged fasting, and exercise are powerful tools in reducing chemo side effects.

Cold therapy, such as ice baths, has also been found to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Lastly, vitamin D has been shown to play a crucial role in strengthening the immune system. If you have cancer, it’s recommended that you take high doses of vitamin D, with a target level of at least 120 nanograms per milliliter of blood.

Remember to always consult with your doctor before making any changes to your diet or exercise routine while undergoing chemotherapy.

  1. I worked in Oncology in my 20s … I m so glad u made this . I quit after 4 years because I saw we were killing folks

    • I have always thought this. They killed my mother and family with these horrible treatments! It’s all about the $$$$! Shame on the medical Dr’s allowing this to happen! A book called “Dr’s have a License to kill!”

    • Yes, I know for a fact, it was my faith, nutraceuticals, and herbalceuticals I made it through. You got so much else to carry even when they say you are cancer free. You are something financially broken, physically broken and emotionally broken as well. Put all those traumas together and you have a catastrophe situation. Soursop is one of many alternatives to use. And it is God’s medicine and it is 10x more powerful than chemotherapy. I got high doses of the chemotherapy because of my weight.
God bless you for seeing the truth and acting accordingly.

  2. 1) Sulphoriphane
    2) Resveratrol

    6) Magnesium
    7) Selenium
    8) Intermittent fasting

  3. The worst mistake I ever made was to take chemotherapy. That stuff destroyed my strength, brain fog, nerves pain from hell. I am just making my way back. I was walking 2 to 3 miles a day. After 6 months of chemotherapy and a couple rounds of radiation, I was in a wheelchair. I never stopped moving and my family made sure I could get to a pool so I could continue to exercise. I found a minster who is 100% against any pharmaceutical drugs of any kind. I have also been helped greatly from your natural remedies from herbs, good foods, and vitamins also Dr. Berg. I am now walking with the aid of a cane right now and still making progress.

    • You will gain strengh… have faith. My father had 2x 6 month of chemo and radiation with hearth insufficiency, so it took him very long. But it got better with every year.

    • You can do it Sandra! It’ll just take time. Fear not, because time is on your side. It always is.

    • Chemotherapy is very well known to not have any long term good effects on the body and it certainly destroys good things. Oncologists literally say “they hope chemo will kill cancer, before it kills patients”. Also, I know that doctors never go on chemo when they get cancer. They know better than that. Tells you all you need to know.

  4. You should have talked about hemp… my mom smoked cannabis and took edibles when she was on chemo. It really helped.. although smoking may lower minerals it stops nausea… but eating help seed will give you enough selenium as well as eating edibles and flowers because the hemp plant absorbs selenium in the soils.. I just looked up selenium in hemp and learned this and it explains why it works

  5. This is so revelent to me at this time. My husband is going through chemotherapy treatments. The doctors are restricting his diet to only cooked vegetables and fruits and cooked meats due his lower white blood cells. Dr. Berg, I have been watching your videos for several years now and appreciate your work, your thoughts and research and linking them all for your viewers benefits. And all your notes in the description box. Those are the real golden nuggets to reference back on. Thank you so much. I am the weird one in my family doing all this health research and keep saying how the Healthcare system is now out to heal us. They want us dependent on the system so we can keep paying into it.

  6. Regarding fasting, many years ago I read about a study about fasting involving mice given chemo treatments. Some of the mice were forced to fast for the 3 days prior to the chemo treatment. That group didn’t suffer the undesirable side effects that the control group experienced. The theory offered to explain the effect was that fasting slows the metabolism of normal, healthy cells more than tumor cells, so the uptake of the chemo into the normal cells is much less than the uptake into the tumor cells, which reduces the side effects on the normal cells while still allowing the chemo to attack the tumor cells.
If that’s correct, it would allow two options for chemo treatments. Either (1) use the standard dose of chemo with reduced side effects, or (2) use a larger-than-standard dose of chemo and manage the side effects in the conventional ways, so that the larger dose will more reliably kill the tumor cells without excessive harm to normal cells. Research would be needed to determine the best dose.

  7. DR.Berg thank you,i have breast cancer and going through chemotherapeutic, I feel like crap. Im 73 years young never been sick and in my family no one has had cancer in my family. The reason i went conventional was my step daughter in December 2023 died of cancer, she went holistic, homeopathic medicine and her cancer spread all over her body. That scared me. I rely on God’s mercy and strength praying to get through this and hopefully go back into holistic medicine again.

    • So many variables .
My opinion ….Her cancer could have been it late stages. Your could be different and you are not her.
Holistic and fasting after cancer has spread so far may not help.
The chemo is a shotgun approach. Some have been helped and some not so fortunate.
Dr Boz mother went keto in her 70s and did fasting big time. She still died. That’s one example. Yet, it could have helped others.
If I get cancer, I will not do chemo. And, if I still die then so be it.
I have had a good life and grateful and blessed. Good luck.

    • Good day ma’am my I ask what type of cancer did you step daughter have. Did she any form of treatment like radiation ☢️ treatment. What was her diet do to her homopathic treatment

  8. Fasting, eating only natural meat, and preventing the consumption of carbohydrates, all kinds of sugars, and juices during the period of chemotherapy is the only thing capable of strengthening the body’s immunity.

    • Didn’t he say he say chemotherapy destroys the immune system why would one take a chance on injecting themselves with those poison ☠️ 🤦🏼‍♀️

  9. I strongly advise folks to write these down in a diary or book. Keep a record of these gems.

  10. Dr Harry Foster also wrote What Really Causes Parkinsons and What Really Causes Alzheimers and What Really Causes Multiple Sclerosis. He was a medical geographer and studied why certain diseases were prevalent or not in areas of the world. I loved his lectures, he was a university professor.

  11. Thank you for hilighting how very important selenium is to everyone not just cancer patients

  12. Dr, Berg, I’m very lucky I passed on chemotherapy. I used, and modified the Joe Tippens protocol. Fenbendazole, menbendazole, ivermectin, I’m very grateful, no side effect.
    I also quit toothpaste, alcohol,

    • These are all good… Plus albendazole . Clinical studies on each of these available on pubmed. I suggest that you research cimetidine as well… Excellent longevity studies are available on pubmed. Proven repurposed meds with very few side effects and excellent results. 😊😊

  13. My best friend died from bladder cancer @55 years old. Totally miss by buddy Greg.😢

  14. I sincerely hope every day that I never develop cancer. Thankfully it doesn’t run in my family. I make sure to never eat processed foods, I avoid all sugar except fruits. I only eat whole organic foods. I also exercise 5 days each week, sometimes 6.

Cancer is the worst thing ever. I would never wish it upon even my worst enemy.

  15. my mom and dad both passed away because of cancer in the last 6 months. I am still grieving. My opinion on chemo is really mixed. My dad refused it and died really quickly while my mom battled it for 4 years, took chemo twice and at least lived longer but still suffered. I tried so many things when she was sick but my honest opinion is that its hard once its spread. Prevention and regular checks are so important. Just dont get to the point to get it in the first place. For people currently having cancer I wish you the best and stay strong. At the end you must fight and try your best to beat it.

  16. My tip : After being diagnosed with cancer in 2015. I had surgery and was injured by it !
When I went for a check up , I was “ambushed “ by an oncologist / radiologist who insisted I have radiation therapy . Little did he know I had obtained my pathology report . I came to the conclusion radiation would not help, in fact it can cause another cancer . Get your pathology report, and dissect it !!

  17. My friend on his death bed (Leukemia) told me to never make the mistake of doing chemo therapy like he did…….
Instead of enjoying his last six months of life left he went through hell for eight months and hated every minute of it, and still died.

  18. I am 14 yrs breast cancer free without chemo or radiation. I did do the drastic double mastectomy. The Dr asked was I trying to kill myself. I said to myself no but you sure are and I have been taking supplements ever since. Become your own advocate and do your research. All praise to The Most High, His Holy Spirit guided me to His truth on meds and through my journey. At 67 I take zero meds and have no health issues. You are so correct Dr Berg, thank you.
