Today, we’re going to talk about bloating, the number one symptom associated with a leaky gut. If you have a leaky gut, you have crevices and holes in your gut where food particles and substances can travel through without a stamp of approval from the immune system.
For example, if you have a leaky gut and egg protein gets through, your immune system will respond as if it’s a virus, bacteria, or pathogen. The next time you eat eggs, you could have an immune reaction.
If you have a leaky gut, you’ll notice new food allergies along with the following symptoms:
•Inflammation
•Joint pain
•Skin reactions (e.g. psoriasis, dermatitis)
•Headaches
The most damaging side effect of a leaky gut is the development of autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto’s.
To get rid of bloating, you’ll need to address the cause of a leaky gut. Check out the 7 most common causes of a leaky gut:
1. Vitamin D deficiency
2. Seed oils
3. Raw vegetables
4. Lectins
5. Fiber
6. Sugar
7. Gluten
Even if you correct your diet, you must ensure you have enough vitamin D to fix your leaky gut. Get plenty of sun without burning, or take 20,000 IU of vitamin D every day.
Glutamine is crucial for gut health. Red meat is the best source of glutamine. Cabbage, bone broth, eggs, and kefir are also good sources. Zinc is also important for gut health. Oysters, shellfish, seafood, and sea kelp are the best sources. Fasting gives your digestive system a chance to rest and repair if you have a leaky gut.

No, fasting is not great at all for women’s hormones.
For men it is ok.
an old guy i know when he hit 72 he completely changed his diet and ate only once every 24 hours and only drank water no other fluids , he lost 100 kilos, his diabetes went imto remission, his blood pressure became normal , his aches n pains dissapeared , he didnt go keto but he definitely is a changed man , hes not even the same person , so energetic and youthful.
now about 6 years later hes doing very well.
Great work Dr.
Appreciated!
Fasting is repeatedly in the Bible, God knew!
…and prayer.
Correct. Most other religions also advocate fasting.
What type of fasting? Ie. Intermittent, 24 hour, 48 hour, 72 hour etc?
I came to know that recently, leaky gut is not the root cause of autoimmune diseases. It is parasites, fungus, high bad bacteria in the gut is the root cause of inflammation and autoimmune diseases. After I controlled my fungus in gut, my psoriasis is controlled.
Those things proliferate if you’re low on D. Vitamin D is so important!
How did you confirm that your have intestinal bad fungi and how you controlled it?
@@KeeperOfKale222 though you have sufficient vitamin D, still you can not come out of autoimmune diseases like psoriasis. Mine is 70 ng/ml. After taking sauerkraut, which has high lactic acid bacteria, which suppresses fungus in the gut, my psoriasis is well controlled. Still, dr berg believes leaky gut, which is not true.
@malleshiitm Hi, can you please share how you confirmed you had gut fungus and what you did to control it. Thanks!
Yes! Please tell how you controlled the fungi
Thankyou very helpful .
As I do agree with nearly 100% of this, I went from years of Keto to Carnivore and then had 2 ER episodes of Diverticulitis within a month of each other. I added fiber back into my diet and have been good. So, I do think fiber is needed. I was explained to like this: our colon is a muscle, and if it is not used properly, it becomes weak, like any other muscle in our body. When you do not give it foods that make it contract/flex it will become weak. I hope this makes sense to the rest of you as well. So, eat your meat, but I recommend that you eat your fiber too 😉
Fiber isn’t needed for a lot of people. We’re all different, so what’s a problem/helpful for one isn’t necessarily going to be the case for everyone else. I’ve been fiber free 3 year this August and am thriving. Every time I’ve tried to reintroduce a vegetable I’ve had issues. I 100% feel my best on a carnivore/fiber free diet. And I’m not alone. There are thousands of others (at least) that thrive without fiber. So while it might be needed for some, it’s certainly not needed by all.
@@HappilyCarnivore Yes, exactly. One size doesn’t fit all. Listen to your body.
Getting Gluten out of my diet has made a world of difference. I feel so much better. No bloating, no inflammation. I learn so much from Dr Berg. Have a good weekend everyone 🌅
excellent, wheat etc never does me anyngood
It’s difficult to find an alternative to bread, so easy to just grab a sandwich, and then suffer the consequences, any suggestions or is gluten free bread okay?
I tried GF in the past and had no change 😕
@@danniedebe9885 maybe a probiotic style diet with no sugar etc .
seen doctors say not all have noticeable reactions to gluten yet say these days many processed foods have added gluten which no doubt over loads the body with gluten and is a cause of some health issues.
@@danniedebe9885Not everyone is sensitive to gluten. 🤷🏼♀️

2 weeks ago I started drinking 1 liter of kefir with blueberries per day. Amazing improvement in digestion, sleep and for the first time in many years I have almost no stomach problems. “All disease begins in your gut”.
1 liter a day? Are you gaining weight?
Kiefer got rid of my IBS. Although I just drank one measuring cup per day. Also cut out most sugars.
My Type O blood book says stay away from Kefir if your this blood type. Many people are type O.
So the need is to get probiotic in your diet.. be it kefir or probiotic pills?
But what is it doing to your blood glucose? 1 liter of kefir + blueberries = a ton of carbs
Thank you doc❤
I was having digestive issues and electrolyte problems while doing keto and fasting. Bloating, anxiety, depression, skin issues, sleep issues, grinding my teeth, and always having to pee after drinking water. I would supplement electrolytes and it would hardly help at all.
I started to take phosphatidyl choline and it got better but wasn’t solving my issues.
Eventually I started mega dosing vitamin D because a wart virus was going crazy and my immune system seemed to be doing absolutely nothing to stop it. I also started taking vitamin C in the form of acerola cherry powder, as well as black seed oil and a good quality omega 3.
All of my problems went away and I am losing weight as if I were on keto and I’m eating whatever I want!
wow, jealous
Good for you
Dr. Berg, thank you for answering the question that I’ve long been searching answers for!
Thank you for your sharing this ❤❤❤
Dr berg your awesome and thank you for your health home remedies education!
I had very very very bad bloating, also I developed autoimmune hepatitis. Doctors focused on hepatites, that did nothing to my gut problem, my gut bloating was so bad that sometimes I felt like I was going to literally pass out and about to call the hospital. Since doctors were worried more about the hepatitis rather this gut problem that was impacting my life, making me staying in bed even for 36 hours 1/2 times a week I decided to solve it by myself with an elimination diet. I removed things with fibers (integral cereal), I removed almost all sugars allowing myself natural occurring ones like that found in milk, I stopped any kind of fruit, and just like this the problem almost went completely away. I was eating stagionated cheese, meat, eggs, dairy, easily digestible carbs like potatoes and pasta/rice (this last one was the problem), BUT they never went totally away until I decided to go gluten free, it was the best decision I could ever make, my digestion improved like never before. I think that gluten was the main problem, I’m not celiac, I’ve done the test, but I’m 100% sure it is not accurate and at least I have a very big sensitivity to it. Now I want to slowly reintroduce fruits, but I’ll never go back with gluten.
It was difficult to find the root, my bloating was presenting after around 10 hours of the meal having gluten, so I could have it at night, as well as in the morning, depending If I was eating pasta at lunch or dinner. They sneak up refined wheat even in things like frozen cheap hamburgers or veggy stuff, so read the labels and be careful.
