In this video, I’ll show you how to spot the early signs of liver damage. Alcoholic fatty liver disease only makes up about 4% of cases. Most liver disease is considered non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Here are 7 surprising liver damage signs:

1. Bulging or tightness under the right rib cage
This bulging can sometimes cause pain in the right shoulder due to pressure on the phrenic nerve.

2. Loss of energy
This will differ from fatigue and affect your endurance, especially during exercise. You may feel tired after eating or need to go to bed early. You might also experience weakness or a loss of vitality and strength.

3. Itchiness
Many people with liver damage experience itchiness on the bottoms of their feet, but it can occur anywhere on the body. This is caused by bile salts backing up into the tissues and is often more noticeable at night.

4. Red dots or spider veins
High levels of estrogen can cause red dots and spider veins. Men with high levels of estrogen may develop increased breast tissue, while women may experience symptoms of estrogen dominance.

5. Thyroid problems
Liver damage can inhibit proper thyroid function. Symptoms like fatigue, loss of hair, high cholesterol, and dry skin are symptoms of a lowered-functioning thyroid.

6. Low vitamin D
Many people are deficient in vitamin D, and this problem worsens with liver damage. Inflammation, a weakened immune system, and muscle problems can also indicate low vitamin D.

7. Dark urine
Liver damage will cause your urine to be darker and may also cause it to have a strong smell.

The cause of a fatty liver, inflamed liver, and liver cirrhosis can be narrowed down to one root cause—the consumption of sugar, starches, and seed oils.

Eliminating these ingredients from the diet may help reverse fatty liver and other chronic health conditions.

  1. They should teach health related texts at school, but unfortunately, it doesn’t happen. Thank you, Dear Dr. Berg.

    • I didn’t have any of those symptoms. A biopsy found out I had stagec1 liver cirrhosis. I reversed it but the damage is done. NO RESPONSIBILITY OF SCIENCE TO FIND A CURE! Food magic only goes sofar! Life is over. No vacations, no eating out anymore!

    • It’s all thanks to the Rothcbilds and Rockefeller’s who took over the medical schools and pushed the petrochemicals, ie.. medications. So people like Dr Berg end up criticized.

    • @@Petesworkshop2225Dr. Berg’s content team likely reads the same texts they teach in dietician schools and probably recommends that info for these videos. You should tell your sister that.

  2. I have not studied medicine, but you’re the REAL doctor.

I can’t trust others who support the wrongdoings of the system for cash. That’s just being a conman, not a doctor.

REAL doctors are akin to God – truthful, caring, and a source of hope.

  3. That’s so weird…I started hurting under my right ribs about 3 days ago. Currently I’m fasting so the pain has gone away. Thank you Dr Berg, now I know what I need to do. God bless you sir🤗🤗🤗

  4. The “real” Dr could not find the solution to the health problem my father had. I found it on your channel (vitamin B1) and it works. Thank you so much ❤

  5. I pray for you DAILY….you need to stay “on air”…..big pharma can’t stand you. You are literally changing the way people eat and live. I have been spreading the word EVERYWHERE. Your name is all over FB. The Menopause page i belong to, knows all about Dr Berg. THANK YOU IMMENSELY!

  6. Dr. Berg, I am from Switzerland. I appreciate your work and I am a mother of 3 and everything I learn from you I try to educate my kids too. I am so grateful for your work and time.

I hope you life long and protected.

    • I have been following Dr. Berg for years. If common sense, REAL scientifically based whole, real, clean food recommendations are “quackery”, the medical profession is broken. Dr. Berg’s advice is solid!

    • @@FrankJames4-ki3bt Toevallig werkzaam in de medische sector… en verlies je klandizie?!??
Iedere genezen patiënt = een verloren klant. 🥴🤣🤣

  7. Thanks, Dr. Berg, for this video. I used to have constant fatigue and didn’t know it was related to my liver. Changing my diet made a big difference. 👍 A friend also recommended a book called Secret Supplements that turn you into a Superhuman, and I’m so glad I checked it out. Not only did it open my eyes to unorthodox health tips, but the artistic style and beautiful images were a pleasant surprise—just made the whole experience even better! 😄

    • Only book I’ve found even close to that is called Secrets of Supplements. Who is the author of the book you are referring to?

  8. August 2, 2024, I was diagnosed with diffuse fatty liver and I was able to reverse it through fasting, diet and exercise in just a month.

  9. I used to have fatty liver disease until I cut out gluten. Now, my liver enzymes are normal. I used to have itchiness, fatigue, trouble sleeping, achy joints and bursitis. All that went away after cutting out gluten.

  10. I remember an old video of yours where you mentioned cracked heels were a sign of liver damage. I can’t thank you enough for that info. After suffering with that for at least a decade, I cleared it all up in a matter of months by intermittent fasting and milk thistle. Keep doing what you’re doing, Dr. You’re a good man

  11. All the Doctors I’ve seen since becoming a senior ask me if I have any questions while turning the door knob to exit , that’s multitasking.

  12. I got diagnosed with Liver Bile Cirrhosis when I was 21, now 25 still figuring out how to manage these symptoms! I love life and make the most of everyday. Only control what I can

  13. Puts a lot of my past alcoholism issues into context… Which also led to me just not taking care of myself along with overall diet, deviating away from my exercise regimen as well as DEEEEP DEEEEP dark stages of depression
.glad to say I found ways through that all

  14. I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis at 8 years old. I had all these symptoms, especially the pain and the itching and the fatigue and eventually jaundice. I had a liver transplant in 2021 at 31 years old and I am so thankful for my donor every day. But everything you say is true. I’m going to share this video in the spirit of education. Thank you for making this video. I’m 3 years post transplant and just got back into thw gym but still struggle with the pain and fatigue, it’s just life with poor liver health.
