All this age advice and my grandmother is still getting after it at 94yrs old eating carbs… she’s in the Caribbean. My father-in-law is 94 also and eats more protein and he still drives and is sharp as a tack. It’s so confusing anymore I just eat and enjoy now lol
I am more confused about what to eat than about anything else in my life!
If carbs are so great why do all vegans look weak and old and carnivores look younger healthy and stronger?
He was getting injuries while being a vegan and now he eats meat and doesn’t get injured as much
And who said vegans don’t eat protein?
They eat plant based protein.
@Staf Justice plant proteins are not the same as proteins from meat.
@Staf Justice Which is garbage. Not in the slightest bit as absorbable and often coupled with either anti nutrients, industrial seed oils, deuterium, or pesticides. Animal protein requires far less food matter and is coupled with healthy fats. The comparison is pretty stark. In order for me to take in the same amount of certain amino acids found in a small piece of steak, I’d have to consume heaps of that plant matter – not even speaking on the amino acids and nutrients missing in plants. And we now know that fiber is often problematic for many, especially those with IBS, Crohn’s, etc.
I don’t know .. people think I look like I’m getting younger or say “don’t you ever age?” after super healthy eating ethical vegan for 7 years.. at 62. starting rock climbing at 56.. feel stronger than ever personally that’s after traumatic tragic loss so also stress management/meditation. I think i get balanced protein fats and carbs.. due to have blood work, c reactive protein and telomeres etc tested again. ✌🏼

I agree with you, but avoiding anxiety is very hard in today’s world.
For example, I have high-functioning autism and I’m constantly anxious at work and around most people, it’s something I must reduce for greater longevity.

Thank you Siim! Dr David Sinclair is messing with out heads….he’s supposedly vegetarian, considering vegan??? He also quoted the infamous 7th Day Adventist study in a recent interview. Maybe the whole resveratol controversy has had an effect on him.
Sinclair and others in this anti-aging movement are reductionist. Look into other reasoning and rebuttals from folks such as Paul Saladino and Harry Serpanos. I’m no fan boy, but they bring up some very valid counter arguments.

you’ve said you need like 10-12g of glycine in the past, 500g of beef has 10g of glycine in it, so how much do you really need? Does it increase as you eat more methionine?
If you eat fatty ground beef, fatty steak, nose to tail, or sardines (basically eat a human appropriate diet) your glycine to methionine intake is optimal.
Old timer told me once you can eat whatever you want but it’s the frequency that you eat matters.
