Today, I’m going to tell you how to stop overthinking! Overthinking can trigger cortisol, which equals more stress. Stress hormones will continue to stress you out, leaving you trapped in a vicious cycle of anxious thoughts that can be very difficult to break out of.

Most of the time, anxiety and overthinking can be fixed by addressing nutritional imbalances, but people are often prescribed SSRIs. These drugs block the reabsorption of serotonin and come with several side effects. They can downgrade the receptor for serotonin, which can cause a major deficiency in serotonin.

Drugs, chronic stress, junk food, lack of sun, and vitamin D can deplete your serotonin and dopamine. Many people get the blues during the winter months because of a lack of vitamin D from the sun.

Vitamin D deficiency can lead to anxiety and depression. Research has shown that vitamin D may produce the same results as a medication for depression without the side effects!

The health of your microbiome directly affects your mental health. The microbes that help increase serotonin are very sensitive to broad-spectrum antibiotics.

To stop overthinking and improve your mental health, you’ll want to take at least 10,000 IU of vitamin D each day. You also need the microbes that make serotonin!

L. reuteri affects serotonin more than any other microbe, yet over 96% of the population is deficient! The best way to fix this problem is to make your own probiotic yogurt using L. reuteri. This microbe can help decrease anxiety, increase oxytocin, and significantly reduce cortisol.

  1. The moment i went carnivore with grass fed/finished beef only, pasture raised eggs and fermented foods like raw milk kefir, sauerkraut and yogurt, everything got so much better. No more overthinking.

    • @sarangtokki2045  vegetarian diet isn’t really comparable to the way i eat. First off the produce around the world is mostly nutrient devoid thanks to us relying on methods that deplete the soil of nutrients. Also fermented foods are superior to plants that aren’t fermented. And also non organic produce has tons of chemicals. I think there is a reason plant based folks have such a high turn over rate from plant based to animal based. I did try plant based/vegetarian. Even organic but the moment I went carnivore, (grass fed/finished) regenerative eating, my health dramatically improved. Mental health cleared right up. Fermented foods didn’t seem to make a difference but when I put them in plus l ruiteri rich foods I put on a lot more muscle surprisingly on top of all the beef I was already eating. So even though I was high quality carnivore I believe I was still missing that important microbe

  2. The main source of over thinking are adverse childhoods. We’ve been trying to solve our poor early environments. But yes, eat well and treat your body well. Thank you Dr Berg.

    • Facts. The environment you’re raised in is the UTMOST RESPONSIBLE reason why overthinking occurs. That and not being parented correctly or neglected.

    • @@mattthevisionary let’s not forget about not fitting in with other children and bullying, that can throw you off for good too, even if you had great upbringing and happiness inside your home like in my case.

    • But do not overlook the nutritional component of our childhoods. Many, too many, of our children are being fed a completely ultraprocessed diet, full of sugars, chemicals and dyes. Some from the time they are born starting with breast milk substitutions loaded with soy, and other questionable ingredients. Then as the child grows, parents are encouraged to transition to solid foods, that are almost all prepackaged and sold as a convenience for the parent. But we know that these processed foods contribute to poor mental and physical behaviors. Such as anxiety, adhd, add, etc. Then, these poor eating habits persist throughout their children’s lives, resulting in diminished overall health.

I understand parents struggle daily with the demands of their jobs, and the last thing they want is to fight with their child at the dinner table over food. So if little Tommy or Suzy refuses to eat anything other than chicken nuggets and french fries, parents cave in, to stop the fight. But this leads to the child down the path of bad food choices, and limiting their palates so that as they get older, they are entrenched into a diet composed of “convenience” foods with little to no nutritional value. Many lack a variety of foods, including vegetables. These fast convenient foods are designed to taste good while you’re eating them, but then the body crashes, creating cravings. The resulting feedback loop is tough to break.

The food industry as a whole knows this. Our fda has abdicated their responsibility to the people, by accepting the words and analysis of food company paid scientists. The proliferation of food scientists was a direct result of the tobacco companies. When the tobacco were finally held to account for the addiction and health problems they caused, many shielded themselves from paying out by claiming it would bankrupt them. They had shifted vast financial holdings into the processed food industry and buying up smaller companies. These now mega food conglomerates had all these researchers on payroll, and what better way to utilize the scientists skills, than having them shift from nicotine to other chemicals that interact on the brain similar to nicotine and triggering the “bliss point”? We have been duped and hoodwinked not only by scientists whose goal is profits, but also by a government agency that is just a rubber stamp and revolving door for these scientists. My hope is that RFK, will make America Healthy again.

  3. I never realized how crucial vitamin D and gut health are for mental well-being! This connection between serotonin, microbiome, and anxiety is mind-blowing. The natural approach with L. reuteri yogurt sounds promising—definitely worth exploring. Thanks for sharing such valuable insights!

  4. I was having the high cortisol and was taking all the ashwagandha products. I was not sleeping, weight gain and other symptoms. I did research on it all and discovered that it is mostly copper deficiency. I added magnesium, copper, selenium and zinc supplements and FINALLY I am sleeping the whole night instead of waking up at midnight every night. So glad I got it figured out.

    • @@regg858 I am taking Vitacost chelated zinc 30 mg,Healthy Origins Seleno Excell 200mcg, Swanson’s copper 2 mg and Vitacost 500 mg Magnesium. Using up some things that I already had on hand. Hope that helps. All the high cortisol symptoms all had the one thing in common which is the copper deficiency.

    • Hi dean, i also hav high cortisol. Plus i know that my zinc needs to be completely deficent because ,y leucocytes and all the other white blood componentss are completely decreasesd. I read that zinc could posssibly lower the high cortisol. So now i stated taking zinc. But i also read zinc has to be taken with copper. So ias well bought copper. But then i read people with estrgen dominance and / or zinc deficency are very likely to be dominant in copper and that copper would make everything worse (liverproblems, no detoxification and so on). *So coul it be, that its only the zinc which helps you keep the cortisol low? And the copper, which you don´t recognize now, makes it worse?* because you already are copper dominant? without knowing it.

  5. I once experienced prediabetic symptoms, along with anxiety and vertigo attacks. Then, I discovered one of Dr. Berg’s videos and made sure to take enough Vitamin D3 and K2. I couldn’t be more grateful. Sending love from Jordan!

    • @@Jesse-d9d He can’t be always there for everyone in the world. He has other works too. Grow up, gather knowledge and try to solve your problems on your own.

    • @Jesse-d9d he literally has a million videos on every and any topic to at least have.addressed it (whichever is your query) and perhaps from there on you can further research. I doubt he answers people individually.

    • @Jesse-d9d I’m sure if u were using your mind well , u would find the best treatment & best healthy lifestyle & diet from the videos of Dr.Berg 👍🏻
Also if u pray 2 God , u will sure be better sooner 👍🏻

  6. I remember that first time seeing one of Dr Berg videos on how to stopped eating bread in August of 2022
I was overweight and lots of health problems with different types of pain from TMJ, Spine and back pain, Ankle and flat feet, pinched nerve in the shoulders as of now I am down 139 lbs… my prediabetes took off, my blood work results are the best I ever had..I thank God for finding out about Dr Berg after 26 years of health problems Thank you God for everything 🙏

  7. Overthinking causes and solutions:
    1. Causes
    – Lack of magnesium
    – Lack of glycine
    – Lack of theanine
    – Lack of vitamin B1 (thiamine)
    – Lack of vitamin D3
    2. Solutions
    – Drink milk and eat dark chocolate
    – Drink beef gelatin and cook collagenous broths
    – Drink herbal teas like lemon balm tea
    – Sprinkle nutritional yeast flakes on food
    – Get enough sunlight

  8. I live in Finland and during winter we have the Polar night, so there’s very little to no sun during winter and many people definitely are more grumpy, some even get seasonal depression.
The effects of Vitamin D are truly incredible.

  9. I grew up living on a farm full of animals, and parasites were part of it…we wormed everything but us, so infections and allergies, anti histamines and antibiotics were constantly used…(my dad was a doctor 🙄)
… and a prime set up for a failed immune system…lack of good bacteria lead to dental issues and depression among other ailments and issues, so over the last 30 years, and because of my redirection into the naturopathic world and true nutritional healing and listening to experts like Dr. Berg, I’ve become an expert and advocate with my own body and health.

This all needs to be taught in health classes.

Dr. Berg…I implore you to contact the new MAHA director, RFK and propose a new initiative of health classes as a standard of coursework of general education for this next generation on.

We have to turn this around. Please consider being part of the recovery of health. You have the notoriety and platform. You know the gravity of America’s health. Please step up.

  10. The very first time I took a decent amount of vit D, I remember thinking “wow, if an antidepressant had this effect this fast I’d say it was working”. But none of them ever did. Vit D is a far better antidepressant than anything else I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried at least 6 different antidepressants. Kudos to Dr. Berg for helping me to understand that 600 I.U.’s a day isn’t gonna do diddly squat for any of my health problems. 🎉

    • @@connieholmes4853 Sorry to interject, but I recall Dr Berg suggesting at least 10000 I.U’s/day of Vitamin D3. I take 12000/ day, along with K2, necessary for over 4000/day. I do feel better for that. I have also started taking Thiamine/B1 sublingual tablets (absorbed better), as my wife, to hopefully improve her P.D. symptoms. I hope to stop my serotonin antidepressant tables as a result.

  11. Dr.berg you got me feeling good, lots of people saying that I am looking good.
I love you keto fasting ❤ was 400 lbs and I am down to 151 ❤

  12. This Doctor needs to be cloned and put into every medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about health. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos. I respect this man immensely. 🙏🙏🤷

  13. Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It’s quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

    • Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!

    • Yes Steve_porss1, I share similar experiences with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction. Psilocybin mushrooms have been a game-changer for me, aiding greatly in my recovery and sobriety.”

    • I wish those were more easily accessible where I live.
Microdosing was my next step for my husband. He’s 59 & dealing with lots of mental health challenges, possible CTE & a TBI that put him in a coma for 8 days. Unfortunately, I had to get a TPO since he’s 6’6, over 300 pounds, and showing violent behavior, constantly talking about harming others. He’s aggressive. To anyone reading this, if you’re familiar with BPD, is it common to have an obsession with violence?

  14. It’s not just worry. I have a very creative mind and also ideas pop in my head and then I’m constantly thinking (and excited) about things I can do.

  15. Overthinking used to rob me of sleep every night, leaving me exhausted the next day. It wasn’t until I started addressing my mental health from the inside out that things got better. Adding magnesium and probiotics to my routine, which I discovered in Secret Supplements that turn you into a Superhuman, has made a massive difference. Magnesium helps me relax before bed, and probiotics have noticeably improved my mood during the day.

  16. Doc, you really hit the nail on the head!

For the past few months, I’ve been drowning in anxiety and depression. I couldn’t focus on work, lost my confidence, dealt with constant brain fog, and had random thoughts running in circles.

What made me realize it could be a vitamin D deficiency is my lifestyle as a software engineer. For months, I’ve been stuck in my room, going straight from bed to my desk, eating meals at my desk, and barely interacting with anyone.

I’ll start taking vitamin D right away to see if it makes a difference!
